  1. I don't see how a couple of those teams will pass on taking a QB with their first pick. We're not the only one who needs an upgrade at the position.

easy.. The teams in front of us have even more desperate needs at other positions AND Those players in the top 7 in front of us are all graded higher the Geno on the boards

    KC will acquire Smith.

Jaguars won't reach for a QB at the #2 spot with some very big talent to be had there at DL, OL, CB

Oakland has Palmer and Tyrelle Pryor waiting in the wings whom they used a 3rd rd pick in the 2011 supplemental draft. Not to mention Oak has needs at Cb and DL.

Philly won't reach and have a 1st rd rookie QB on the roster. Re-signing Vick sends the signal they aren't going to use their 1st rd pick on a QB> they will also be in solid position for a a QB in the 2nd rd

    Detroit is set at QB

Cleveland could be a possible destination for Geno, but have needs and a good chance Cleveland will have a top pick of the 2nd tier QB's in round #2

Arizona must address its OT situation

It's looking more and more like Geno to the BIlls at # 8 has a damn good chance of happening

Knowing that the Jags, Oakland, Philly, Cleveland, and Arizona might be interested in a QB in rd 2 and all wil pick before the Bills it means if the Bills wait till later they WILL HAVE TO TRADE BACK INTO THE 1st

Geno is worthy of a 1st rd pick, but grade wise #8 is about the earliest he will land

  2. So a team that is a division winner, had the first spot in the playoffs and was a play or two from the superbowl lets these guys go and we want them?

Dear God, lets try this again... if a great team like that lets them go (other than obvious salary cap reasons) we don't want them. That means they aren't that good anymore because a good team isn't going to let good players go.

    Why is this still missed?

IF I UNDERSTAND YOUR HYPOTHESIS CORRECTLY THEN IT'S the bad teams that are then ones that release the good players

  3. Meh this anti Geno Smith talk makes me laugh, The guy is still very accurate, extremely productive, passes the eye test, Has plenty of arm, lives in the film room, loves the game kind of guy

If Tannenhill was worth #8 for Miami last year, then Geno Smith is more then worthy of #8.

IMO the only reason he is not going higher in this draft is the level of talent at OT DE, CB at the top of this draft is superior, but for a team in need of a young QB like Buffalo at #8 this is a great place to pick him up. No different then Miami last year and Tannenhill.

I could see Detroit, Oakland, Jax or Philly trading with someone (like the Jets) who wants to get ahead of us and AZ for a QB.

but in a draft deep at a multitude of positions liek DL, OL, WR LB and the fact that the Jets are going to have lots of holes to fill do they really want to give up those picks

I don't think they would do this IMO

  4. It's a crap shoot, but anyone in the top 5 are reaching in this draft for Geno. Geno is the best QB and worthy of the 1st rd, but the BPA's in the top 5 are way to hard to pass up

SO it comes down to Cleveland and Arizona

Arizona is asking about Cassell, and Cleveland may be OK with sticking with Weeden,

Flynn and Mallet are out there for trade as well.

new draft rankings post combine has Geno as the #8 player overall.. Coincidence ?

  5. The bottom line here, and the biggest mystery is why is Buddy Nix still the GM? Not only did he sign Fitz to this disastrous contract extension, but other then that mess, a couple cast offs that nobody wanted and a 7th round pick who had no chance of being a franchise quarterback, he has completely ignored the QB position and really screwed this team for years to come.

Not at all. Nix is solid, and took on a disaster of a franchise coming in here. and Overdorf does the money.

Nix wil be here for the next 3 years easily,

  6. This guy looks dominant. And does it in SEC. Big 6'3" 200+. Fast. Looks like Julio Jones - I think he looks better than Julio did in college. His speed and cuts remind me of .... Spiller a little bit - in the way they were head and shoulders above the competition at the collegiate level. This guy is WORTH 8 overall!

But watch the video and see for your self.

Justin Hunter over Cordarelle Patterson IMO. Taller, jumps higher, just as fast , and caught almost 2x's as many passes as Patterson

  7. Patterson is a one year wonder.

No way we pick up Patterson who's body of work is small and this draft is deep in WR talent that will be there later on, no need to pick Patterson so early IMO

heck Justin Hunter has better intangibles, is almost as fast, but taller with longer arms, and better jumping ability and higher receiving production then Cordarelle.

  8. If OL is rated at a 96 and isnt that much of a need and some other position such as OLB or WR is rated at 95 then I suspect Nix would pick position of need. BTW none of these qb's are rated above 86 that I have seen.

    thought Geno rated 91.

OL is always a good idea IMO. With a RB like Spiller and relying on the run more so this year I'm all for it.

  9. LMAO at this thread

I hate the Toronto series too, but it produces huge money that no NFL owner would pass up for any reason.

Fact is the Toronto series ads huge revenue to Bills, and Russ would never be fired for increasing profit margins. The Bottom line is all that matters in any business, and profits are up.

and Nix should not be fired regardless of what the knee jerks around Bills town think.
