Norwood: it was always unlikely that he was going to make that kick on grass. The game was lost a hundred times before that kick.
Music City: Squib kick was fine, it was a special teams/officiating debacle.

    13 Seconds: Coaching

Bass: needs to make that kick, but the blown opportunities beforehand are what matter more.

Bass should have never kicked against KC.  They should have gone into that situation with one objective.  Win or lose the game on that drive by burning the clock and scoring TD.  When you're on the toilet, you don't fart, you sh*t.

  2. Bill Belichick as our DC would be the perfect fit for him.  Back to his roots and the chance to beat NE twice a year, be a coach on a team with Josh Allen.  He was a always a masterful DC and this would allow him to take step back but stay close to the one thing he is truly passionate about.

I think we can keep Poyer another year.  He's still an average safety and on the market, I think an average safety is going to make about as much as Poyer.

Not sure if it's a good idea changing out two safety's.  I think that's what really hurt the Bengals.

I think Cam Lewis might be our other starting safety next year.

Cam Lewis should be gone already.  He runs around a lot and is probably a great process guy but never makes a play.

  4. The jury is still out on this player.  The fact that his teammates were celebrating his interception tells me they have faith in his abilities and now that he's finally healthy, let's look at the glass as half full.

We'll apparently do it as many times as necessary.

I grant you that the media is not writing in a way that clarifies the distinction but "facing" a charge, means to the media, "according to what you're said to have done, these are the charges that could be filed against you." not "you have been charged with these crimes".  It's kind of an unclear way of writing about it.

But Miller has not (as far as I know still) been formally charged with a crime

    https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/von-miller-has-no-comment-on-felony-assault-charge

    same article

See the distinction they're making "facing" vs. not "formally charged"?

It's the same one the NFL is making, like it or don't (and there are things to like about it)

I'm not sure what CBS news item you're looking at but some of the ones I've seen are even worse for blurring the distinction

    Again:

Arrested on suspicion does not equal charged

Police can arrest you when they believe (and get a judge to agree)  they have 'probable cause' that you committed a crime (arrested on suspicion)

Charges have to be filed by a prosecutor or a Grand Jury

If he were being arrested and charged it would be "arrested on charges of...."

He can also be charged without being arrested, and issued a summons to appear in court to answer for the charges

At which point we are going way over my paygrade.

But that's the distinction the NFL is making

    I was agreeing with you.

Are we really going to do this again?  Von Miller has been charged with a third degree felony assault.  (A quick google search will confirm this.)  Miller was arrested on this charge and then released on bail.  The charges are pending. So, no different than Ross.

From CBS News:  "The 34-year-old Miller faces a charge of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman, which is punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He is free after posting a $5,000 bond."

Arrested on suspicion of third degree felony assault.

Watching the Manning cast (because I can't listen to Joe Buck and the Hall of Famer Troy Aikman). They have Mark Wahlberg on. The dude looks totally bored and like he's doing the Mannings a favor being on the show. What a jerk.

Manning's are handling it well.  Wahlberg must be on solely to plug something.  Wait for it, it has to be coming in their next segment.

It's interesting to me that McD said after the Cincy game that he wasn't considering anything regarding Dorsey, and now Dorsey is termed.

In the real world, an empty endorsement is the kiss of death.  The element of surprise.  Dead man walking.  See Fredo Corleone.
