And here, collected in one thread, are all the guys who actually watch commercials on web sites.
Why?

WHOA!! Talk about "delusions of grandeur"
After one game against an inflated Chiefs team....you are writing stuff like this in stone... WOW!!
Arguable...but continue...Raiders D Line is DEFINITELY better... everything else might be a wash
Perhaps not... but if we score 20..you have to score 21. That isn't a given....no matter what model you use.
Thing is.. We don't offer Run D.. last year we were the second ranked PASS D and second in the league in sacks. Last week we stuffed the run. So if the Raiders can stuff the run now too??? It will be a very, very long day for the Bills because we already know they can get at the passer just like they did last season.
Good luck tomorrow. You're going to end up a bit disappointed.
Close game at halftime. Over by the start of the 4th.
-
I'm enjoying this. These Raiders fans are kind of funny. Talk about delusions of grandeur.
This game is very simple. This year, you will need a shut down defense to keep the Bills under 28 points. We're talking Jets, Ravens, maybe Pats*, maybe Bears when Urlacher is playing well, maybe Steelers if they pull things together.
Raiders are not on this list. They have a decent defense, like the Bills, but not great or shut down.
So, can the Raiders score over 30 points just by running the ball? Easy answer, no. Maybe 20, maybe 24.
Raiders will not be able to keep up with Bills offense, even if they own time of possession (which I doubt they will - it's easy to key on the run defense when that's all the other team offers).
Bills 31, Raiders 23

1st- Nic Fairley DE/DT
2nd- Christian Ponder QB
3rd- Kevin Sheppard ILB
4th- Ahmad Black SS
Sorry, the only pick I like is the 3rd rounder. Hate taking a QB in the second, and not a big fan of Fairley. I am afraid he is going to bust big time.

I've been analyzing all of the quarterbacks available in the draft and all I can say is I hope we don't go QB is the first. Nix and co. will be smart enough to go with one of the other top rated players and I'll just trust on their judgement. If you look at Newton/Gabbert, they don't meet Nix's oft stated policy on drafting players with consistent success. See: Phillip Rivers for an example of the type of stats he looks for. Nix NEVER would have allowed a Maybin to be drafted. Newton definitely not be drafted, get over it! Gabbert, maybe but I hope not.
Check these articles out on predicting QB success:

Perhaps you've seen them before. There are other systems that predict success for QBs as well and DALTON FITS THEM ALL.
We can somewhat afford a bust in the second but not in the first.
DRAFT DALTON IN THE SECOND.
Concerning the "Parcell Rules" article...
Tyrod Taylor, Virginia Tech (6/7)
Three-year starter? Yes
Senior? Yes
Graduate? Yes
30 games? Yes (49 played, 41 started)
23 wins? Yes (34)
2-to-1 ratio? Yes (44-to-20)
Above 60 percent? No (57.4%, but 60.6% Senior Yr)
Can be had in the 7th round? Yes
Why pick Dalton or Ponder or someone in the 2nd?
-
top of the 2nd seems a bit early, but agreed, i like the kid. if he could be had later in the draft that would be even better
+1
Second is too early for a QB. After we make a front 7 pick in round 1, the second pick should be another front 7 pick or a RT. I am thinking
Von Miller / Derrick Sherrod
or
Von Miller / Akeem Ayers
or
Von Miller / one of the DLine prospects that should have been picked in round 1 but falls.
-
Didn't Rae Carruth have his pregnant girlfriend killed. He qualifies.
Yeah, he's pretty much #1 at any position. Certainly the #1 WR
-
Swap Von miller in for gabbert in the first and you have a decent draft there
1. QB Blaine Gabbert - Missouri
2. OT Derek Sherrod - Mississippi St
3. DE Greg Romeus - Pittsburgh
4a. S DeAndre Michael - Clemson
4b. CB Jalil Brown - Colorado
5. ILB Bruce Carter - UCF
6. OG Bryant Browning - Ohio State
7a. TE Weslye Saunders - South Carolina
7b. OLB Tom Keiser - Stanford
-
If we don't take a QB early I wouldn't mind the Bills drafting Tyrod Taylor 5 or later.
+1
A lot of people on this board hate him for some reason, but he will be on the board in the 7th maybe even UDFA amd is as much of an athlete for chan to coach up as half the WBA folks want to pick in the 2nd and 3rd
-
No, IMO they don't believe in Fitzpatrick as a franchise QB. And they have no reason to believe so. He had one decent season, has been a career backup and Gailey has a history of taking QB's of mediocre talent and turning them into productive starters.
I'm guessing Chan would like a chance to work with a real franchise QB for a change. The best he has had was a young Kordell and a spent Aikman. One who couldn't pass the ball and one who couldn't get out of his own way. I'm sure he looks at Newton and Gabbert and sees a combination of passing talent and athleticism he's never had the privilege to coach.
As for why a team with a 28 year old starting QB would use a high pick on a QB? Because the teams with franchise QB's own the league. That's all too obvious.
Said it before, the draft is a process, not an event. Too many fans are trying to fill holes "on paper" and ignoring the fact that it doesn't matter if you are good at a lot of other positions, if you don't have a franchise QB you are just kidding yourself if you think you are going to win consistently in the NFL.
And too many posters are making that argument in a year when there is no franchise QB in the draft. You want to make a mistake that will set your team back ten years? Draft a QB very high who is not really a franchise QB so that you are forced to play him even when he doesn't have it, just because you picked him so high. Look up Carson Palmer and Alex Smith as examples.
At least with a bad pick like Maybin, you can admit your mistake and move on after a couple of years. But with a "franchise QB" pick who really isn't a franchise QB (i.e. Gabbert, Newton), you will stuck for at least five - seven years trying to figure out what to do with the guy, forced to play him.
It also entirely defeats the point of hiring a guy like Gailey, whose main merit is developing an offense that doesn't require a Peyton Manning to be successful.
No thanks. Not this year.

-
It's he should be considered....not concidered. And he should only be considered in the 4th round or later.
I think he's saying something about torturing him with Apple Cider...I could be wrong.
-
Still supporting Von Miller in the first.
Based on this list, the players I am looking at in the second are Derrick Sherrod, Akeem Ayers and perhaps Kyle Rudolph, though I'm not a big fan of picking TE in the early rounds after seeing the offense Gailey wants to run.
-
Carolina will probably draft a QB in the first round so they have no use for Clausen. We have nothing behind Fitzpatrick. Brohm and Levi Brown are not NFL players. Claussen could develop into a solid player over time.
I guess it's insulting to ask if you are joking... But, are you joking???
I know I will get flamed for this, but I've already said it another thread:
I'd MUCH rather see what Gailey can do with an athletic guy like Tavaris Jackson, who has has at least SOME success in this league, than a guy like Claussen, who clearly does not have it
-
That's good for them, but the Bills should have nothing to do with it (not that you were implying they would).
It's just we can't be party to feeding Belicheat's strategy. Let someone else do it.
-
No, Von Miller is too valuable and he won't be there past #5
-
Yeah because every NFL team just goes right down the FighClub's big board. You probably already know the draft order.
Ha, would be easier on you later if you just go ahead and type "I've been fooled by the smokescreen" and be done with it
-
Saw this and wanted to offer this up to the masses on the board....
My sentiments have changed as to who to blame for this mess and was last on the players for decertifying and walking away. But after reading this and recallign the mess that the idiot in Charlotte started by belittling Manning and Brees and the players...then seeing Jerrah do this...I would have told them to F off too...
Yeah...I meet with guys like Jerry Jones twice a week. They're abrasive, jerks, and generally a*holes. But if you are sending people into the room who can't handle it, you've lost before you started. That's exactly what they wanted. I'd be amazed if Drew Brees can take a pounding and verbal abuse from 300 pound men 16 times a year and can't take getting flipped off once by Jerry Jones. Shows sometimes the physical stuff isn't what defines a true man in today's culture...
-
Is this a joke? Cam is about 12th on my "big board". Considering we have the #3 pick, he's never been a real option in the first place. Don't be fooled by the smokescreen...
-
One thing to say about their mock draft is if it really broke the way they project, all four of these players are available at the top of round 2. Bills win no matter what the Pats* do at that point:
J.J. Watt
Akeem Ayers
Justin Houston
Nate Solder
Which is probably exactly why they are wrong, now that I think about it...
-
Here's a link to the latest Sporting News war room mock draft. Has us picking Gabbert #3 (not my favorite projection).
Sporting News mock draft updated March 15th
What I find even more interesting is their "Super 99" rankings. Check them out:
Peterson is ranked #26? Jabaal Sheard, a guy who played for Wannstedt at Pitt and who I don't even see in most first round mocks, ranked #13 in the whole draft? Ahead of the likes of Aldon Smith, Cam Heyward and Ryan Kerrigan?
What do you think? Are these guys geniuses or are they nuts?
-
Just say no to Gabbert
-
any QB @ 3# will have me thinking we just set ourselves back another 5 years
+1 I think anyone not wanting to draft Miller must think he is only a 3-4 rush OLB. I personally thing he can play inside in the 3-4 and also can play OLB in a 4-3. Given that we are going to run the hybrid and probably be in a lot more 4-3 than people realize, I think it's mandatory that the guy we draft at 3 (if on defense) fits into both. Dareus can do it, and Miller can do it. Peterson would also work. Bowers may work.
As far as QBs, I'm just not interested in any of them at #3. It doesn't make sense to me to hire a coach who can turn almost any QB into a good player as your head coach / OC and then draft a QB so high. Let people like John Fox or Marvin Lewis, defensive coaches who can't coach QBs out of a paper bag, do that sort of thing.
-
I would take Peterson if the first two picks were Marcell Dareus and Von Miller. Any other combination and I would take the remaining of those two.
In other words, my big board right now for the Bills is
1. Von Miller
2. Marcell Dareus
3. Patrick Peterson
4. DaQuan Bowers
And in fact it's possible Bowers moves ahead of Peterson after pro days.

To me the normal state of affairs in the AFC is
2 teams from East
2 from Central
1 from South
1 from West
It was unusual the East didn't get two teams in last year.
The South is clearly too weak to have two teams - it's the Texans and that's it. Titans have a small chance of being mildly competitive. In the West, they fight each other so much that, while SD, KC and Denver may all be competitive, only one will make it with not that great a record. Probably Peyton gets Denver past the other two - SD is on the way down.
So, basically, the Bills have to beat out the Jets and Dolphins with a good (10+ win) record and I believe they'll make it.
