1. Bwahahaha! Are you serious?? Now Drew has been coached to make horrible throws even when he has time? Did you see the Raiders game? When he had time he was throwing off his back foot and shorthopping balls. I'll give you the drops, but you have some serious Drew colored glasses on.

I agree Drew looked pretty bad for much of the Raiders game. Even throwing conservatively you need to throw a catchable ball. I also thought he looked pretty good against the Jags.

I agree with the people who have posted here that this could really be a pivotal week for whether the fans turn against Bledsoe. I, for one, thing we have bigger problems than Bledsoe. But don't get me wrong, I am eager and excited to see Losman in there when he's ready. (But Matthews?? C'mon!)

Again, does anyone know if Bledsoe got a concussion against the Raiders?

2. If Matthews isn't a viable alternate then why did they sign him? I dont believe that Matthews cant play well if called upon.

53634

I hope he plays great when called upon, but clearly goes into the season as an emergency-only QB. If Drew appears to be having some type of psychological emergency on the field, that might qualify, and Matthew could take a series while Bledsoe sits and talks to Wyche. [btw, I would have rather had Matthews on the field when Bledsoe got sacked out of FG range against the Raiders (rookie mistake!), but think Matthews on his best day would perform about the same as Bledsoe on his worst.]

With regard to booing, one of my concerns is that it will actually demoralize the team and make them perform worse. Don't worry, the coaches will see that things aren't going well. One syllable advice for making changes is not very helpful. (I'd much rather hear a chant of "Matthews, Matthews" than booing if it comes to that.) Of course you have a right to boo, seq004, as you have a right to do many things that I would criticize....

3. It depends if wind is a factor.

I always like to see my team with the wind at their back the the end of each half, and preferably receiving the ball in the second half.

I want to kick off first. I think we'll have better feild position when we stop the Patriots than we would returning a kickoff.

4. I remember that fight between carweel gardner and brian big mouth cox.

Me too. I would love to see this team get fired up. I forget who here said it (first), but this team needs an identity and definitely needs more passion in their play.

I almost wish some of the Sabres could stand behind their bench and get our team worked up: "are you gonna let that pipsqueek manhandle you that way!? Go kick that little pu$$y's a$$!"

5. I don't want to get into a huge Bledsoe debate. All I'm saying is, this game can turn the fans either way on Bledsoe tomorrow.

53085

Me either. And agreed.

I will say though that I think Bledsoe has been coached extensively in the last year to make very conservative throws (low and away from the defender).

Please don't promote booing our team, but I understand if you are upset and disappointed, and give up on Bledsoe. Frankly, I gave up on him last year.

6. The 12th man is growing tired of the crap play they are seeing every week. I can't blame them if the boo. A win this week changes everything!

53064

Booing your QB when playing against Super Bowl champs is sad "support" to give your home team. I would only boo Bledsoe if I was convinced he was trying to lose, or had given up on the team. ...though I might boo Mularkey at a press conference if he didn't pull Bledsoe and it was obvious he had to go.

So far this year I'm giving Bledsoe some slack because I think he played well against the Jags, and I think he may have gotten a concussion against the Raiders. (Does anyone know if this happened? It sure looked like it.) Also, until we have a viable alternative, I'll support going with Bledsoe, but will certainly let fly criticism of specific bad decisions he makes.

7. Thanks, MDH. This is good stuff. I usually watch the games a second time on TiVo, but the Oakland game was erased before I could get back to it.

Another thing I wanted to look for is this: does it look like Bledsoe has an outlet receiver, or is everyone running longer routes oblivious to the blitzes? He needs some help, but I'd rather see him take an intentional grounding penalty (at least once in a game) than just stand there.

8. 75,000 x 2.5 grams = 187,500 grams

187,500 x 0.00220462262 = 413.36674125 pounds

51988

So 7.5 million pennies ($75,000) is 41,000+ pounds! 20 tons!

I definitely think we should try to make this happen. I wonder if you could have a big dump truck pull up and dump them somewhere for the NFL?

9. Many of you have probably already heard of Memento, so I'll add a couple documentaries that really impressed me you probably don't know. I have belonged to an independant film club over the last few years and they've introduced me to many I never would have found.

Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition (narrated by Liam Neeson)

-Not to be confused with the reenactment thing that was on TV. ...and you thought Buffalo was cold!!

Spellbound

Every spring since 1925, Scripps Howard newspapers sponsor spelling bees at grade schools across the U.S. Ten million kids competed in 1999. This documentary follows eight of them as they win regional bees and prepare for the national contest in D.C. They're from big cities, suburbs, and small towns. We watch them practice, we hear their views on study, competition, victory and defeat. We meet their families: two have single parents, three are children of immigrants. Once in D.C., we watch them compete and listen to their parents between rounds.
Surprisingly engaging and endearing. I never would have picked it on my own.

10. My favorite is definitely Memento.

Leonard, as a result of a blow to the head during an assault on his wife, has no short-term memory. He's looking for his wife's killer, compensating for his disability by taking Polaroids, annotating them and tattooing important facts on his body. We meet the loquacious Teddy and the seductive Natalie (a barmaid who promises to help) [CARRIE ANNE MOSS] and we glimpse Leonard's wife through memories from before the assault. Leonard also talks about Sammy Jankis, a man he knew with a similar condition.

11. I agree with most of the people who have posted on this topic already. I gave up on Bledsoe at the end of last year but am plesently surprised at his improvement from last year. He is throwing faster and more conservatively (i.e. low or away from any defender that is closing on the receiver), trying to be a possession QB, instead of being his more comfortable homerun self.

He did some backsliding this last game and did not look sharp at times, especially taking a couple of those sacks (though at least he's not fumbling!). I really wonder if he got a concussion during the game. I've been traveling for work and haven't read anything the last couple days. Does anyone know? I'd be thrilled if he played like he did against the Jags in 12 of the remaining 14 games this season.
