  1. Actually, I think this is one of the more accurate rankings list I've seen. Save this and let's see how well he does compared to ESPN or NFL Network. What is so far fetched about this list? Atlanta has a great team. So does San Diego (my pick to get to the AFC Championship game). Detroit at 9? Why is that out there. Other than GB, that division is not good. They can easily go 5-1 or 4-2 in that division.

And, so what if the poster is new, or even the owner of the website? This is a Bills board and this was a relevant topic concerning the Bills. Moreover, I enjoyed reading it.

  2. It's going to be the Chargers. I'm almost 100% sure. Here's how I know:

I live in Southern California. A good friend of mine's brother works for AEG (company that owns LA Live, the Staples Center and the new stadium rights to a downtown stadium next to Staples - the one that Farmers just agreed to provide the naming rights to). He has been telling us for a year or so that the Chargers are moving to LA. He also told us about AEG's interest in buying a percentage of the Chargers long before it was reported in the press (it's still not done, but in the works, in fact Spanos has hired Goldman Sachs to sell his miniority share about 36% - his kids own 60%). AEG also (and this isn't from my contact, but from knowledge of LA politics) has a lot of "influence" with the LA City Council. AEG is going to be the group that gets the team. And right now, the focus is 100% on San Diego. The fan base is close (2 hours from SD with a lot of Chargers fans in Northern SD County and OC/LA area as well). Most importantly, SD is not going to get a new publically financed stadium and from February 1 and April 30 of every year from now through 2020, the Chargers can get out of their lease by simply writing a check to the city of San Diego — this year, the amount is about $26 million, and it decreases annually.

Our Bills are safe from any LA move. The focus is on the Chargers. I'll post more info if I get it (I may be seeing this friend's brother this weekend on a ski trip).

  3. This is Buddy Nix playing poker, plain and simple. If you think he was every going to let him go, you are crazy. The Bills are in a win-win situation. If Schobel doesn't show up, they don't have to pay him. But if he wants to play, but play somewhere else, you better believe and Nix is going to get something in return.

  4. He's right.

Think about it: How bad was our team from a talent level last year? How many injuries did we have? How bad was the coaching (case in point, fire the OC in pre-season, no QB coach because he was the OC), terrible defensive scheme.

We have a new defense this year, but we also have some better playmakers on defense. McKelvin is healthy and adds to the stregth of our team (secondary). We have a solid vet ILB in Davis, a solid 3-4 end in Edwards, so good looking draft picks to play NT, DE, OLB, ILB.

On offense we have a premier playmaker in Spiller and a good offensive minded head coach and coaching staff to prepare the guys to play to their abilities.

I'm not saying we make the playoffs, but we will be more competitive. If we can add Gaither and Wood is healthy, our offense will be much, much better.

  5. Helping Ellis with his position change is the same position coach he had last season in Bob Sanders, who is now in charge of outside linebackers. Having a rapport with his position coach provides some measure of comfort as Ellis is confident Sanders will put him in situations where he can succeed.

“He knows what I can do, what my strong points are and he can coach towards those,” said Ellis.

Um, isn't that the same position coach who helped keep him glued to the bench last year? Wasn't that the situation where Sanders thought he could best succeed in '09?

Not really. Last year he was a DE in a 4-3, this year he is an OLB in a 3-4.
