1. Someone reported on the official bills message board the same story. Basically the poster said Ted hated the Raiders and all they did was talk BS (The leader of this was Sapp of course). Ted also said that Jauron knows how to run a team and that DJ commanded a great deal of respect from anyone that came in conact with him. And yes the post said, he'd love to come play for him in Buffalo.

  2. I agree that Marv has taken this thing by the horns, but I don't think anything less than a super bowl is a failure. Marv needs to make this team competitive first, and frankly he has a long road ahead of him.

Like the above poster mentioned, Marv's legacy is alread writ as a coach. I think, it will be easy for historians to separate Marv the coach from Marv the GM. You've got to believe he won't hold the GM position for too long.

  3. One of he things I liked about what he said is that from week to week you have to figure out how to beat the team you are facing.  He says Belicheck does a great  job of adjusting week by week to his opponents.  He says he wants to do the same in Buffalo.  If he does do this, it will be a step up from GW and MM.  Both of them seemed to want to run the same schemes regardless of who we were playing instead of attacking the other teams weaknesses.

Thats good to hear. One thing that comes to mind is that if he does follow through with this philosophy, Gray's days of DC are indeed over.

Why stop at not including the guys coach of the year season? How about we just take out all the wins?

If your looking for games that don't count I suggest you not include the year they didn't play at soldier field. Not that I'm a Jauron supporter, more of a wait and see guy.

  5. was i wrong buffalo bill 5?  isn't it interesting how quickly that article came out after the press conference?  listen, i just want to win.  this chris smokescreen is just a ploy to cover up dj's average numbers (i'm being nice by calling them avg).

The reporters at the press conference were talking about contacting CV, so it wasn't a plot. Also, lets acknowledge at least the possibility CV said these things because he might believe them.

  6. I wish I could agree with this.  It's a very marginal difference either way.

I'm basing this on the fact that Wyche is on offensive genius. And Jauron seems to not be A) a moron or B)someone who will quit when things get tough. In the end Mularky turned out to be as big of a quiter as the team he coahed. After seeing the way he bowed out, I am glad to have anyone else as the coach.

  7. Sam Wyche OC

    Jerry Gray DC

I could see this happening. Gray doesn't exactly have anyhing else lined up and most of the coordinator posts are filling up.

Jauron, Wyche, Gray and April > MM, Clements, Gray and April IMO.

Also, "Wasn't it nice to actually listen to a guy that could formulate a sentence without having to think about it? The man actually spoke in complete sentences and he was easy to understand!!! "

^Agree completly. I was thinking this the whole time during the press conference, Jauron didn't say much, but he spoke well for himself.

  8. You know media outlets are reporting that Al-Queda leadership is in shambles... Probably the worst they've seen in a terrorist organization in ten years. Al-Queda supports are sure no one with any terrorist experience will be willing to step into the newly opened spot. Bin Laden will have a press conference in the morning.

  9. I think a lot of you folks need to consider this from a bit different perspective. Maybe this whole thing sends the message to potential coaches that you'd better believe you can put up a winner before you get here, because we are sick of loosing and will no longer accept it?

Any coach worth a dime will believe in his own ability to build a winner and will not consider passing on Buffalo because he might not get his pay of he is canned. I want a guy who is sure he will succeed.

MM showed in resigning he had no confidence he could build a winner here. If he was offended by what people said he should have had the balls to think that they'll change their tune next year when we're in the playoffs. Obviously, he didn't have that confidence in himself, so I say good riddance.

  10. Yeah. its pretty common for a new GM to want a whole new coaching staff... which is where we're at, so I don't understand the sky is falling at one bills drive espn theme. I actually think the Bills organization may have caught a break by MM stepping aside and letting us start all over. Lets se how this all ends up before making suicide pacts.

  11. Is Hester really projected to still be available in the 3rd round? Miami was trying to intice hime to stay by giving him a much larger role in the offense next year. Has he declared his eligability?

I guess if the Bills adressed the lines earlier in the draft, I'd be okay with his selection as it seems like a guy MM would like to utilize in schemes.

  12. I know they are not supposed to take this into account, but I'm sure Thurman being a likely induction did not help Reed's chances either. A lot of folks don't like the Bills, but when push comes to shove can't deny their place in history either.

I think given the list, Thurman has a great shot at being a first year ballot hof'er and the media who select the finalists know this. Even Irvin and Aikman probably won't go in together due to Irvin's hobbies of the field.

  13. Id take teddy in a heartbeat

    560139

Cotrell would be a welcome addition imo. Norve can go get______ed! Maybe if Turner is hired he could explain again to MM how some day he would understand the point in running up the score this past season. I know, I know, most folks here feel it was okay...

So has Gray actually been canned? I saw reoprts he as and then he wasn't. My belief is that he was fired when first reported, but the Bills didn't want that to reflect badly on his interview with the Texans. This theory would explain why all of the position coaches were dumped with no word on Grey's status.

  14. I'd give the play calling to Wyche if he is healthy enough. He's prooven his sytems can win. and if they don't suceed here it here, it will answer a lot of the questions over whether or not it is the talent or coaching.

As far as Levy helping with the play calling, he didn't do much of that here, but he did proove that he had no ego about letting whoever was most capable call the plays. That says to me, get a good coordinator because MM was lackluster in calls last season.

  15. It was a good time for him to step aside as a coach. "

Exactly.  With the team now void of Hall of Fame talent (and Bill Polian waaaaaay back in the rear view mirror) - it was a good time for Club Marv to shut it's doors. What more of an indictment do you need?

    556773

Well they may have not had the hall of fame tallent, but Levy put in place a good team that kept on winning. Remeber Rueben Browns comments that Levy built another super bowl caliberteam before he left?
