  1. Clayton was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania, outside Pittsburgh, in 1954.

He began covering the Pittsburgh Steelers while in high school in 1972, the year of Franco Harris’ Immaculate Reception. It was said that in the chaos of the Pittsburgh press box — the Steelers had never won a playoff game — that Clayton approached an NFL official and asked to see a replay because he wanted to make sure the play was legal.

Sorry I can’t be of any real help, but I can say don’t expect anything fast. My college buddy has a problem child back living with them. (My goddaughter, yay.) She’s not allowed to smoke in the house, so she goes out into the garage to smoke. She also drinks. A LOT. On September 7 of last year they woke up at 2:00 AM to find that the house was burning to the ground. Nobody was hurt, so that’s the important part.

Now, about the insurance….it took about 5 months to get things worked out and get any money. Building a new house expected to be done next September. Out of their house for a year.

We had trees fall on our house during a traopical storm in Florida. It crushed the tile on one slope of the house. State Farm “generously” wrote a check to replace that slope of the house for about $6k. Of course, they no longer made that tile any more, so it was upon us to stroke the check for the other $24k. That’s not what I think of as insurance. We moved to Cincinnati Insurance and have never used State Farm again. When we presented them with the coverage Cincinnati Insurance was quoting they responded with something like “I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t do that.”

Hope it’s not too big of a deal, and good luck!

Did Jake from State Farm handle that one?

  3. PSL's price families out of the ticket market.  Absent some kind of business write off, it;s almost impossible to economically justify that.  Just raise the ticket prices by the equivalent PSL figure, and see what the demand will be?

PSL's are especially difficult to justify in the years when the team sucks.  Historically, the BILLS are not playoff caliber every season therefore...fuget about em..

Hey, it’s the offseason, and since we now actually have a team it’s fun to root for it’s easier to look back at the drought era and reflect.

Feel free to come in here and remind us all of your worst takes on the Bills during the drought years.  What were you so sure of that was proven to be absolutely wrong?

I’ll start.  I’m a self-professed homer so even through the drought years I was always looking for the silver lining…but that’s what fans do.

Here are a few I’m not particularly proud of:

I wanted Rob Johnson to play over Flutie.

I was excited when Marv was brought back as GM and thought he would right the ship.

I didn’t think Russ Brandon was a tool.

I blamed Overdorf for Ralph’s cheapness.

I defended Chris Kelsay way more than he deserved.

I loved the trade up to draft Sammy Watkins.

I fooled myself into thinking Rex Ryan was a good hire.

Those are the big ones.  I’ve rooted for sub-par players but I think that’s just fandom.

    What say you?

    Go and sin no more!
