  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_NFL_Draft

The only guy I would have taken besides Spiller at that point was pierre Paul who IIRC was considered a bit of a project and we still had that guy maybin from a year before. Spiller was the best player available. The guy we were gonna trade back into the first for was D. Thomas who played for Gailey at G.Tech

Considering their pronounced O-Line needs at the time (and with FJ and Lynch in the fold), I'll never ever fathom how Buddy could have passed over Anthony Davis OT who went no. 12 (two picks later) to the Niners. While I'm biased having gone to Rutgers, this to me was an absolute no brainer. He fell right after Spiller. He was projected by all draftniks around that no. 10 slot (right where he went) and he has proved to be a worthy starting tackle (he has started all 32 games since the draft albeit at RT). Never made any sense. I'm surprised no one has ever second-guessed that one.

  2. This game which I went to personally in Charlotte tells me all I need to know that the guy could play, when he was at the top of his game. The pass to Moulds was an incredibly strike downfield. I wish that was our QB.

  3. The question is would we want the 98 version of him on our roster today, with the dearth of good QBs? Those of you who say no he sukked are absolutely insane. He was an above average QB (with a good arm, the guy was no captain checkdown). He won like we haven't seen since he left, save for the one Bledsoe 9-7 season. The guy was a pro bowler for us for gsake.

  4. Bills to add more OL help?

    Buffalo Bills

    Top Email

Prior to the draft, it was expected that the Buffalo Bills would emerge from the three-day extravaganza (if not the first night) with an offensive tackle to plug in to their lineup. Instead, they'll venture forth into the 2010 preseason with the same problem they had at the close of the 2009 season.

But there's a good chance that they're not yet done looking. For starters, they might take a look at veteran free agent Flozell Adams. Adams was one of the most-penalized linemen in the NFL, but he would be an upgrade from a skills standpoint. It's also possible that they re-examine trade discussions with the Baltimore Ravens for Jared Gaither. The draft came and went with Gaither still a member of the Ravens' team, but the Bills did investigate him a bit, per Pro Football Talk.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter brings up a key point in why Buffalo might have a difficult time attracting veteran free agents:

    Adam Schefter

Re-building Bills are a tough sell

"If you're a veteran, and you've got one more chance at winning a Super Bowl, is Buffalo your choice? There aren't many worthy veteran offensive linemen out there. To find one willing to spend his last season with the Bills makes it even more challenging."

If Flozell's choices are Chicago and Buffalo seems like a tossup -- I don't see the Bears winning any Super Bowls.

  5. 1) Walt Putuski #1 over all played 5 yrs

    2) Al Cowlings #5 over all

    3) Phil Dokes # 12 over all played 2 yrs

    3) Mike williams # 4 over all played 3 yrs

    4) Perry Tuttle # 19 overall

    5) John mcCargo # 26 overall

    6) Eric Flowers 2nd round

    7) John parella # 55 overall

    8) Tony Hunter # 12 over all

    9) JP Losman # 22

    10) Tom Cousineau #1 over all never played for the Bills even though we got the kelly pick, I think he should be on the list

    11) Terry Miller 1978 # 5 Overall

    12) Tom Rudd 1975 # 19 Overall

    13) Roscoe Parrich 2005 # 55

Think Terry Miller should be ahead of even Mike Williams...number five overall? That's terrible. Perry Tuttle was pretty horrendous too. Great work though!!!

  6. 1-800-WE DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK

I would say "The Ralph" no longer refers to our stadium, but rather the collective reaction to this hire. Just unbelievable. Perry would have been inspired compared to this train wreck.

Didn't work for obama care, lol and you're dealing with Ralph

  7. Overdorf holds the purse strings, no?

And isn't Overdorf the one who has the say on letting free agents go? Isn't he the one who was put in charge of the financial and business side of the Bills, to mirror the role Brandon currently has on the football side? Wasn't it Overdorf who always fought with Polian when he was here?

I don't see how Overdorf could have influenced the drafts for the past decade- which still tells me that good 'ol Tommy Mo down in FL can stay down there permanently. He has had 9 drafts and has sucked at every one of them.

Guy has also brought in nothing but losers in free agency. He should be thrown out the door as well.

But I wonder, after Donahoe left, how much power exactly does the man responsible for the Bills salary structure (Overdorf) have, exactly?

Was it Littman or Overdorf that Polian always clashed with? I thought it was Littman.

  8. my take is I root for the win as sometimes moving up has unintended consequences i.e. mike williams.

I point to NBA: Heat won a last game during a lost season six years ago vs. the raptos. They would have ended up with Chris Bosch earlier had they lost & ended up instead with Dwayne Wade one pick later as Bosch went first.

All things being equal I'll stand on the side of pride and root for my team to win.

  9. I have seen most of his games & I say HELL YEAH he will make it in the NFL. You can watch him Saturday as he beats up the Girls school from Fla. on his way to a THIRD National Title.

OT: The dirty little secret in college football is they beat up a lot of weak sisters from the poor all season (Charleston Southern et al.) and get a pass from the media. Utah was last year's natl. champion and another team (Boise State, Cincinnatti) is gonna get screwed this year. I hate the BCS.

  10. Maybe he just sucks. Maybe he can't get any better. I think people have overrated his potenetial. He NEVER really lit it up. We had been watching Losman, so in comparision Edwards looked "promising". Yes, if he had continued to get better he might have been good. But he didn't. Lots of QB's don't. They end up as backups, guys that know the playbook really well.

Holcolmb. Yep, he is Holcomb over again.

He looked like the next coming of Joe Montana before the concussion. I love all these people that downplay the effects of his concussion. Like they're doctors who can brush off the severity of a head injury. None of us were calling him a backup before Adrian Wilson took him out. What nonsense.

  11. Adrian Wilson cracked TEs head like a coconut. He has not been the same since that hit.

Before that hit, players like Lee were saying how just having TE on the team and in the huddle gave them confidence that the game could be won even down late in the fourth quarter. Back when we were 5-1.

    Never been said since.

I definitely agree with this. This gets overlooked. Darn shame.

  12. i'd really be happy with that. imo marty is a great teacher of young players, he get's them going and playing with confidence in a hurry.

i really think we can go out and sign/draft 2 tackles, 3 lbs, a wr, and have a squad that can play some solid ball. yes we need a qb, but i'll take good before great and we might get a qb in the draft

My suggestion on here several weeks ago was hire Carl Peterson as GM and have him bring in Marty. You'd have a football guy at the top and it would make sense. Lamar and RW had a close relationship (I guess Bud Adams was a different bird altogether haha) so it would make sense on lots of levels, ensure stability at the top etc. etc.

  13. FU Marv.... Dude FU

Marv was the best thing that happened to the bills. Dont forget that

A lot of these dissers don't even remember the Marv era. It's depressing how a generation of Bills fans are coming up and saying "we were in the playoffs?" And it's not like they're young little people either. It's pretty depressing.

  14. Actually, he is almost 100% of the reason we suck, since he hired our horrible coach, drafted our horrible QB, horrible DT, sub par SS, overpaid for sub par DE's, overpaid for sub par G and T, drafted an injury prone sub par MLB.

Thats 8 starters at one point or another that have proved that Marv is full of bad decisions, and the coach tops it all off with a sugary FU coating.

I wouldnt say FU to him personally, but he was the main reason for our suckiness. He set us back 5 years.

Marv was a figurehead ala Tommy Lasorda for the Dodgers.

As for QB I don't know Trent was 5-1 before he got the concussion and hasn't been the same since. It happens. Maybe I'm a naive little child but I think that set us back significantly.
