  1. Most far righters assume that anyone to the left of them, aka the majority, is a liberal.  Or that someone who disagrees with them is an "idiot", has his "head up his ass", has lost control of his bodily functions, etc.

get off your high horse...this ridiculous comment has been swinging both ways forever and ever...

  2. Adolph Hitler was extremely charismatic and knew how to work a crowd.  Too bad he's not running eh?

The things some people think are important ... I guess it just demonstrates how much we deserve what we get.  Shallow, callow and mindless.

you imply that the people criticizing Kerry for his lack of carisma want a Hitler typer character running the country. otherwise there would have been no reason to bring the name Hitler into the post.

i don't mean this in a sarcastic way at all....but tell me something....do you really like your candidate?

    and if so....why?

  3. It really struck me how little he stirred the crowd. No one seemed moved, and people were pretty disinterested in him-- they gave obligatory cheers for the Bush insults and whatnot, but it was matter of fact. It's a reflection of that horrible feeling all the Dems (who will admit it) seem to know already: Kerry sucks, but at least he's not Bush, and that's all we can say.

....and this is why I believe Kerry won't win. people that want Kerry because he isn't Bush, aren't going to have the conviction to go to the polling place and pull a lever for a guy that just doesn't get their juices flowing. sure there will be a few that the dems get bused from the local shelters....who they have managed to sign their "x" on a registration form but for the most part.....my impression is that all these college age student votes the Dems (and the Repubs) are hoping for are going to be watching the news on the night of the election and say...."oh crap! that was today?"

  4. There is an opinion authored by O'Conner that states that any legal requirment that a woman must obtain the consent of the father/husband before getting an abortion, constitutes an "undue burden" on the woman's constitutional rights. (the "undue burden" test is the test created by the S.C. for abortion cases). O'Conner argued that such a ruling could be catastophic in an abusive relationship and in other situations.

I have forgotten the name of the case, but if I have time today I will look it up.

thanks...i would be bery interested in reading that.

  5. interesting points...

and really....my reason to ask isn't to drum up a storm of controversy on the board as the typical abortion thread does.

and i also want to add that my reason to ask is not a personal situation...not that it matters.

there are soooooo many scenarios that could come up...

being a pro-lifer, i just wonder though....a couple different scenarios:

if a husband and wife decide they want to have a child, and they go about their "business" to procreate....isn't there some sort of verbal contract?
