People like him. People care. Blast from the past. If you don't care, that's OK. I bet others do.
Also, I wouldn't call it "newsworthy."
It's a message board.

Brad,
I've always liked listening to you and am very glad that you are starting up a 2nd sports station in Buffalo. But please explain why Artie booboo blah, blah, blah not saying a gosh darn thing on your show / Ruben's show is news worthy?
I just don't get it.

Brad Riter's podcasts
Its really refreshing to hear a show that analyzes Bills football with someone who has an insiders perspective.
PTR
Thanks, PTR.
I appreciate the mention on here.
I feel like coming on here and telling everyone "you need to hear this" but that'd be way too much LAMPing if I did it every time I wanted to, so thank you very much.

Nice job, Brad. It's good to hear Mouse's comments on UB and the Bills. I look forward to hearing more from him.
Unlike another former Bills line coach (who apparently is so great he couldn't find another NFL gig anywhere, after being fired), Jim refrains from senseless bashing and simply gives good analysis.
Leave Ronnie Vinklarek alone!

I'm in the process of editing the interview down so that I can post a link to just the Peters portion of the conversation w/ Jim.
Jim is a regular part of the UB pregame show. I usually interview him separate from the radio show but this week it worked out best to have him on as a live guest and, while the focus was on UB, I had to get some Peters stuff in. So, I encourage you to listen to the whole thing but the shortened version will be here shortly.

Thanks PTR and everyone else for checking it out.
I'm tempted to come to TSW and say "you've gotta hear this" about three times a week but I don't want to be accused of too much self-promotion. The thing is, if I found some of this stuff on a DIFFERENT radio show, I'd come here right away to tell people to listen but I hesitate b/c it's my own show.
So, hopefully, some of you will check out the podcasts regularly and keep people informed. I don't want to be anymore annoying than I already am. (It's a work in progress, so bear with me.)
Thanks,
Brad

Costanzo was a more valued commodity than Donnie Spragan because he's younger and can cover more ground than Spragan who struggled in space.
Wouldn't we all?

The Bills today announced that the team has signed LB Blake Costanzo.
Costanzo originally joined the Bills practice squad on October 24, 2007. He was promoted to the 53-man roster on December 14 and played three games last season.
Costanzo returns to Buffalo following his release on August 30, 2008. A graduate of Lafayette College, Costanzo originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in May 2006 with the New York Jets.

The Bills have all the power here.Peters has none. He will be 29 when he gets to choose his own team..and he won't have played any football or made a dime.
Why is he afraid of showing up? ...we all hate to think about the possibility that he is injured.
Those years don't come off the contract while he's sitting out. Not that I think it'll come to that, but he's not getting any closer to the end of the contract until he's back with the team.

Stenbar is a solid poster. Thanks for backing him up Brad.
No problem. You could call it "sticking up for Stenbar" or you could call it "not letting WGR get credit for my interview." Either way is fine.
The audio is now up, btw. (www.buffalomainevent.com)
And no, I'm not on WGR. I'm on WECK-AM 1230 and WLVL-AM 1340 6-9PM M-F. The show also streams at my site.

Thanks for the heads-up, Brad. But why go there when you can just come here and answer our questions?
See you there in a few.
I have no answer to that question.

I'm doing a Bills-related live blog thing on buffalo.com today at noon. A couple of other people were invited as panelists but I'm not sure who they are or whether they will show up. Join in!
Thanks,
Brad

They're out (as in "printed"... no word on their public availability.) I have one in front of me right now. There are 2 different versions... one with offensive players on the cover and one with defensive players on the cover. They are identical other than that.

There's a "meet the Bills" session with some of the guys who were interviewed for the book coming up in early September. (I wanna say it's September 6th but I don't have the info in front of me.) I'll post more details when I have them.

Word on the street is that this pic will soon be available as a TBD-themed wallpaper, catering to all of your sizing needs.
(Sweet, SDS likes my picture.)

I think this looks great as a nice, clean desktop background. I took the pic today at Fisher.

Time to dig up the running Riter thread, I suppose ...
Tonight, before beginning an in-depth discussion of the Chinese government's "weather modification" efforts, he announced that Steve Christie will join play-by-play man Paul Peck on the UB football broadcasts. Wonder how that's going to mesh with Peck's Bills Radio Network sideline duties, or if someone else will be taking over that job instead?
From what I understand, Paul Peck's Bills stuff is not effected in any way. The Bills people and the radio people all supported his decision to take on the additional role. I'll know more tomorrow but I'm 99% sure that everything else has stayed the same for Paul.
We're all excited about the UB broadcast team, from both an on-air and a technical, behind-the-scenes standpoint. There's really only one position left to fill and there are a few candidates, all of whom are more than qualified.

One question...are you hot? Because if you are, that could be why he was incredibly nice to you.
Bruschi sounded a lot like Flutie to me in that "article." I'm not saying I buy what the writer is selling but it's very plausible that Tedy is one of those guys who makes nice at the black tie affair and then MF's the same guy who writes about what a good guy he is. I've seen it before.

7:30-9pm on AM 1230 and AM 1340 and streaming at www.BuffaloMainEvent.com.
He's starting a new gig at espn.com as the AFC East beat reporter and is in town, so he'll join me in studio. We'll take calls at 716-783-9325.

You mean the guy who reminds her to eat something green while selling her smokes?
... and follows it up with "see ya tomorrow."

VERY good chance but I can't tell you anything that's "officially" happening. All I know is that the show is growing, Ruben's got some decent contacts, and we've got big plans.
Best interview I've ever heard on a sports station was back in the first year that we turned WGR into a sports station. The NCAA basketball tourney was in town and Doug Young accidentally booked Billy Packer and John Cheney at the same time. Everyone just got out of the way, let them speak to one another, and it was amazing.
