I think it’s all psychological with him. The stage was too big for Josh last night and when that happens he panics, the game is too fast for him.

Did you notice how Josh just sat there on the sidelines with the crazy eyes deer in head lights look? Not talking to the coaches, looking at a tablet, etc. He just seemed like he was out on an island and the pressure just continued to build as the game went on.

Tom Brady would always be looking at the tablet to review plays, talk with other players, talk to the coaches up in the booth, and was engaged in the game. No matter what the situation Brady always seemed to have that look of “just give me the ball and we’ll get this done.” Last night, Josh didn’t look like he wanted to be there. The eyes said it all.

I don’t know what’s happened to the kid but he’s regressed significantly and he appears to be totally out of sync with the game around him.

Those on the bench glimpses of him have always concerned me.  Just sitting there, sulking, vacant stare when things aren't going well.  Never looking at a tablet to see what the defense is doing and figure out how to adjust.  Even when he hasn't made any big mistakes, I've never seen him looking at a tablet.  Josh Allen has shown a lot of greatness, and I love having him as a QB - but would like to see him figure out how to really learn from mistakes and adjust his behavior, both on the field and on the sidelines.  In real time - during the game.

  2. I sure hope next year at this time everybody's not sitting around griping about how much the defense sucked.  It seems like a lot of Bills fans are now spoiled and feel they deserve nothing less than a super bowl win.  Of course that's the goal, but getting incrementally better is a much safer approach than blowing things up.  We had a very good D.  Yes it didn't always look great in the playoffs but there you are playing the best offenses.  Having a top 5 D consistently is nothing to sneeze at and things might have been different this year without the Hyde and Von Miller injuries, to name a couple.

Things don't always get better just because you want to celebrate change.  I'll hope for the best now that this is done.  Wishing Frazier the best and I'm thankful for what he did for our team.

I mean, after seeing what our defense and pass rush looked like when Von Miller was healthy, I do believe we could have met those expectations if he were healthy for the playoffs.  After all, this is what makes him such a special player.  Most guys with 8 sacks, they were probably registered on random passing plays, etc.  but with Miller, almost ALL of his 8 sacks were incredibly timely, and that is what you want to have in the playoffs.   Yes, that ONE player could have potentially changed the entire Bengals game.  But without a pass rush, there was never a chance.  Sub Mahomes in for Allen in that game, and the Bills still lose, probably just as badly.

I think the part that sucks the most, when I think about "next season" is that he tore his ACL, so he when he is back, he likely won't be back to 100%, and heck, he might never be 100% ever again.  I think if you could tell us "Von will be return at 100%" even if it were in Week 5-8 or so, we would have more hope for the team in 2023 because he really was making that much of a difference, even in Frazier's vanilla defense.

I've learned the biggest one of all, is overall health of the team.  You look at the 2 teams in the Super Bowl and you've got 2 of the healthiest teams in football.  You look at some of teams that went deep into the playoffs and lost and why they lost, and injuries stand out as much as anything...

    - Bills lost Von Miller and lost a pass rush that was among the best in the NFL when he was healthy

    - Niners lost their QBs and couldn't even throw a pass for half the game

    - Bengals lost their OL and it finally caught up to them when they faced a HEALTHY and talented D-Line that was able to take advantage

Heck, if we are relatively healthy next season, that's an advantage in itself.

It sucks, but that's true with the NFL more so than any other sport.

This is especially true as the league has kept adding games.  It used to be 12!   It's become a lot more of a war of attrition (which to me means a game of luck) than it used to be.   I keep thinking though at SOME POINT, Lady Luck's got to smile on us.

  4. In 21 seasons as starter, his teams went to the Super Bowl 10 times, and won 7.  For a bit over two decades he ended up in nearly half the Super Bowls!  I don't think any quarterback is ever going to do that again.  I hated his 33-3 record against the Bills, even more than the 20 games straight being swept by the Dolphins when I was young.  But you have to give credit where credit is due.   He is the GOAT.

  5. Seems the Chiefs were hell bent on making sure they didn't get beat 2 years in a row in their home stadium by the Bengals in the AFC championship.  And last week the Bengals were all fired up about a few things:  how the NFL awarded the Bills the home game in the divisional when had the Bengals won the cancelled game it would have been the other way around, Bills as favorites, and the Bills-Chiefs neutral site tickets sales.  I could be wrong but I think "extra" motivation means something in these games.
