1. Why isn't Moulds talking? He knows he may be leaving, that's why, or He knows he was wrong.

But when he was in the game late he still didn't provide the spark needed. Was that because he felt he was dissed?

    520273

He was thrown to 1 time. How can you provide a spark if you're not given an opportunity. How do you know Moulds isn't talking? I have not seen or heard any postgame comments from any of the players.

  2. And why do you think that was? Not because of his play recently. There more to this than meets the eye. I suspect Moulds was trying to run the offense again.

    520250

I want to hear Moulds side of this. MM and TD are liars, and I have lost all respect for them.

  3. leadership. In games like this veterans suck it up, start screaming about tough play, etc, etc ,etc!!!!!!

    our bills don't have it.

Did we really expect the playoffs? maybe, maybe not, but we did expect to win games like this after a great start.

Up 21-0 their QB should be watching the Blue sky every play. They are not going to run to get back in the game.

Our Vets like moulds, Fletcher, and others should quit disappearing and start making big plays.

I think today we started preseason for next year. Did anyone else notice the number of non starters moving in and out.

    520239

You're calling Moulds out on a day when the coaches basically told him to piss off? That makes sense.

  4. Let me state for the record my support of an independent counsel being appointed to investigate the recent leak of information to the Washington Post about the CIA operating secret interrogation centers in Soviet era prisons in Eastern Europe.  I think this should be investigated completely and vigorously.  I think that any elected official that may be implicated in the leak should immediately resign and any employee involved immediately fired.  Further, a trial on charges of treason should take place against anyone involved if the evidence warrants the charge.

Who will join me in calling for a truly independent investigation?

    498133

Is it a leak or "whistle blowing"?

  5. Sweet lets start *another* debate about Brady.

Aikman did the exact same thing that Brady did. I do not see anybody calling him the "Ultimate Quarterback" or "the greatest ever" or whatever ball sucking people around here do to Brady. Give me one reason why you worship Brady and not Aikman?

    488546

Not that I worship either one, but Aikman had Emmit Smith and Micheal Irvin, while Brady has Vinateri.

  6. Did anyone else catch Big Ben's comments during the MNF game against San Diego? He said that the reason why he was successful last year was that on passing plays, the coaches gave him a choice of only throwing to one receiver. He would basically look off that receiver and then at the last second look towards him and throw it.

I wish MM and Tom Clements would have done something similar with JP. We have the receivers who can get open. If all JP has to worry about on a given play is getting it to one receiver, be it Moulds, Evans or Reed, I think he would have been more successful.

  7. I think JP needs to be benched. He's obviously struggling, not utilizing his skills, and is completely confused and overmatched out there. He's inaccurate, his mechanics are effed up, and he's not looking at the correct WRs.

I don't think that benching him is an indication that he isn't the future of the Bills. I think it indicates that the Bills need to win NOW, and you do that by putting your best players on the field.

Right now, JP isn't playing well at his position. He needs to sit down, watch the game, get his equilibbrium back, etc. Also, there's too many idiot fans to actually think Buffalo's losing streak is all his fault.

The biggest problem with people in general is that they are incapable of understanding that blame can lie in multiple places. Generally people here curse the coaches, curse donahoe, curse the defensive players, or curse Losman. Truthfully, it's probably a bit of everything. But that isn't simple enough for some people to wrap their heads around.

JP and his development is just a piece of the puzzle. That's important, but so is winning NOW. We won't win now with a QB who misses open WRs, or takes a safety, or fails to recognize a blitz. So we need to fix that.

We also can't win with a D who can't stop the run. So we need to fix that as well.

We can't win with offensive playcalling that doesn't utilize it's best player - Willis McGahee.

Lots of things need to be fixed. It's not just Losman, but he's part of the puzzle. If KH could make two plays that JP couldn't make, we might have a better chance of winning. So benching JP for now is just a small part of what needs to change, but it certainly needs to change.

    467078

Wow. Very scary when I agree 100% with Todd. Holcomb gives us the best chance to win now. If he sucks, and we're sitting at 1 - 7, then let JP play the next 8 games to get the experience he needs. If we're sitting at 4-4 mid season, then keep Holcomb until we're out of playoff contention, and then start JP.

  8. I was screaming for Sam Adams to be the FB on this play. He was in on these type of plays last year?

    Jeff

    464219

Mularkey lost his balls on that one by letting what happened last week affect his decision. QB sneak was the right call, he just didn't have the guts to try it again after JP slipped.

  9. MM is not a good coach.

Plain and simple reason as to why we punted. He has a guy averagin 6 yards a carry, but the !@#$ing moron decides to go to the air all game with a QB who is struggling. MM is not and NFL caliber coach.

    462103

Was MM a good coach last year when we went from 0-4 to 9-7? I admit that they have made some bonehead decisions this year, but I don't think you all of a sudden stop being a good coach.

  10. You're nuts. Bollinger was pathetic. I watched more than half of that game. They only scored three points, and that was on a series that STARTED at the opponents one yard line. He was better than JP was against the Texans? On the only series in the entire game that he played better than terrible, they punted. That's just complete nonsense.

    462374

Bollinger - 14/28 149 yds no picks, no fumbles

    Losman - 7/15 75 yds 1 INT 1 Fumble

Bollinger at least looked like he had an idea of what he was doing. The passes he did get off were accurate, and the Jets WR's seemed to drop a lot of them.

  11. It pains me to say but when you compare JP's first 3 starts to the guys i mentioned, JP is right on target,,,well his yardage is much lower.  Actually Leaf threw for some decent yardage over the course of his 3 miserable years but INT's killed him.  Smith and Shuler just sucked royally and completed about 48% of their passes.

FYI- i think JP is talented ...just needs to calm down a bit and play like it's fun again.

    462141

I watched the Jets today, and Brooks friggin Bollinger looked better than JP has looked all season. That's pretty pathetic when a 3rd string guy looks better than the annoited one who spent the whole off season preparing to be a starter. And he did this against Baltimore.

  12. Absolutely.  You have the right to be ignorant.  Words are just words.  I have had it with political correctness.  Go ahead and call me a Cracker, a Mick, Whitey, whatever.  Its only words.

    460258

If Bennet said this while he was still the secretary of education or the drug czar, I would expect his ass to be fired the next day. I don't care if he holds those beliefs, but he needs to go if he's in a position of power toact on them.

  13. Nice response.  I've got two bones to pick with it:

    1)  Like it or not, there IS a link between crime and race: blacks in this country are more likely to be impoverished, and impoverished people are more likely to commit crimes (particularly "violent" crimes or crimes against a person or property).

    2) "[F]undamental" link?  Nowhere do I see anything implied that is "fundamental".  He implies a link.  I think anyone not living in a Skinnerian Box would have a hard time arguing that there is not a link.  But "fundamental"?  Show me where that's even implicit in his statements.

    460168

    1) I'm with KTD on this one. Yes the link between poverty and crime is there, but I don't believe that is what Bennet is referring to. I believe he skips to a direct correlation between skin color and crime.

    2) Fundamental is implied in his statment that crime will go down when you kill the black babies. He didn't say poor, or single mothers, or high crime urban areas. As stated above it was a direct link to skin color. Without prefacing his statement with any kind of socio-economic factors, what else can be inferred?

  14. Well first of all, since you watched the first three episodes that came out, that means you didn't REALLY see the first three episodes.  See, Fox decided to air the pilot LAST (right before cancelling the show)....

If you watch the pilot episode first (2 hours), then other things really start to fall into place more.  The first few were ok, but not great.  Later episodes are AWESOME; you see how the inner planets that are under control of the Alliance have all sorts of technology, it explains more why the outer planets don't.  The character development and chemistry is also fun to watch.

I'd recommend renting the first disk, watching the pilot, and if you're still not hooked watch the episode "Ariel."  If you're not hooked after that, then I guess it's not your cup of tea.

For the record, I love all of the other shows you mentioend as well. <_<

    Give it another shot.

    CW

    459429

Thanks. I didn't realize they didn't show the pilot. I'll take a look for the season discs at Hollywood video.

On another topic, do any of you guys watch Smallville? That is just a fantastic show. I didn't have Tivo last year, so I missed abig part of Lost because it was directly against Smallville. This year should be really good. I'm curious how they will lead it into the Superman Returns movie next year.

  15. Actually, he doesn't believe that.  Which is clear from the context of his statement: he had a caller call in and suggest that Social Security would not be an issue if it wasn't for the legalization of abortion, as all the aborted fetuses would now be in the workforce and paying into SS.  Bennet pointed out that that was a faintly silly idea, as abortion and SS are at best only remotely connected, and was as silly as saying that aborting all blacks would reduce the crime rate.  His context was not crime prevention, it was the stupidity of assuming apparent causal connections where there are none.

But of course, without the context, it looks like he's saying that the secret to crime prevention is genocide.  That's probably why the context wasn't reported: in context, it's a non-issue.  Out of context, it's a really juicy story.

    460103

I have to disagree with you that what he is saying is being taken out of context. During the call, Bennet refers to the Freakonomics book, but then he clearly states his own opinion with this quote:

"But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky."

I understand that he believes itis a ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to actually do, but it is undeniable that he believes that aborting black babies would reduce crime. I don't call him racist for trying to implement such a strategy, I call him a racist for having the belief in the fundamental link between skin color and crime.

I'm willing to give Republican's the benefit of the doubt, but It's people like Bill Bennet and Trent Lott that really leave me wondering. I mean with those views, Bennet had absolutely no business setting policy around educating our kids.

  16. Just a reminder that Serenity opens in theaters tomorrow.  The movie is going to be GREAT (and already is, according to people who have seen it...).

If the movie does well (and since it only cost $40M to make, "good" is a relative term), Universal will green light a trilogy which is excellent news.

The movie is a continuation of the Firefly series that Fox cancelled for some reason...

Fan support for the show and movie are HUGE -- note that the DVD box set is currently ranked #7 in sales at Amazon, and it's been out for over two YEARS.  I've never seen the box set fall below #15 at Amazon when I've looked.  That's amazing.  It's also the #1 searched for movie at http://www.moviefone.com

If you like great character development, good plots, and wonderful dialog, you'll love Firefly/Serenity.  Go see it at the movie theater, you won't be disappointed!

EDIT: For those who insist on babes, here's some more reasons to see the movie (they're all main characters in the movie):

    Fez,

Got to admit, I don't understand the fan frenzy behind Firefly or Serenity. I am a huge Sci-Fi fan. I love Star Wars, Trek, BSG, 4400, Lost, etc. When Firefly came out, I watched probably the first 3 episodes or so. I thought it was interesting, but nothing about it really blows me away, or leaves me dying for the next episode like BSG. So my question is what's so good about it?

  17. We don't NEED to see what Bledsoe does with another team.  We saw him here for 3 years.  Did he play well enough in his 3 years here to warrant staying?  That's what matters, not whether or not he plays well/poorly with Dallas.

    454113

Well he led us to 9-7 last year, and i'll be pissed if we squander another freaking year bringing along a guy that can't even find an open receiver. I don't care that this is his second year. Anything less that 9-7 is a step backwards, and unacceptable.

  18. I don't carry local networks because I prefer to keep my feeds from both the East and West coasts. IN the past I haven't had trouble with SUnday Ticket because some sort of contractual obligations allowed me to receive the local channels during the course of the NFL season, or before that any game being broadcast locally I could still pick up in the 700's.

However this year I've noticed I'm NOT receiving local networks and that games that are being broadcast locally are being blacked out in the 700's and therefore I can't view them there eitehr.

Has something changed in the agreement between DTV and the NFL and I now have to simply deal with the fact that I'm not going to get every game on Sunday Ticket? Or has DTV made some sort of mistake which I can rectify through the lengthy and annoying process of calling them and dealing with their automated service?

    Help?

    Cya

P.S. The reason I ask is that the Bills game is being broadcast locally tomorrow and want to know if I need to leave the house to see it.

    452339

Can you get an antenna to get the local stations the old fashioned way?

  19. Shredd and Regan are a morning radio show in Buffalo.  They have a contest for the hottest news babe.  They held a vote with the chicks from each channel, leaving one babe per channel plus one wild card.

    Check 'em out

They are a little weak across the board IMO.  My vote goes to Kelly Kraft, even though I have never seen her on TV, only in this pic.

    451474

Shred and Refan are still around? Man they must have been together for ages now. I used to listedn to them in college 12 years ago.

  20. Can't help you with that, I'm not sure.

    443968

Looks like I can't do it with the dish500 dish. I think there are some other dishes out there that can handle either or directv and dishnetwork, but the dish500 won't. Thanks anyway.

  21. I'm finally sick of not watching the Bills, so I'm switching from Dishnetwork to Directv.  Does anyone (Frez) know if you can use the dishnetwork dish500 with a directv lnb and directv recevers?  I have both sets of equipment, and want to keep the HD dishnetwork programming and use the same satellite to get both signals.  I can get both the dishnetwork and the directv recivers locked on the signal, but all I get is the channel guide for directv.  Any help would be appreciated.

    443705

What I want to do is use a legacy dshnetwork dual lnb, along with the directv dual lnb, and the dish500 disk. I have both dish and directv receivers. Thanks.
