  1. Business people = bad

    Government = good

    Fanny and Freddy = government

    Fanny and Freddy = good

Any reform aimed at Fanny and Freddy would have been an obvious admission that they too had some responsibility in the "crisis". We all know that Fanny and Freddy were victimized by the greedy mortgage brokers. Those pesky brokers forced Fanny and Freddy to buy up all those loans and forced Fanny and Freddy to pay the highest prices in the market for those loans even when Fanny and Freddy didn't have the necessary reserves to withstand a downturn in the market. Those damn greedy !@#$ brokers cost the taxpayers billions!!!

Are you serious, Is this scarsm?

  2. I think brohm jumped to #2 and they want to give trent a fresh start, but come gameday, he will show the new coaches why he finished last yr on the bench. This will be brohms team by week 1.

    Hmm.

GB spent a '08 #2 to buy his services, then waived him in Sept. '09 and signed him to the practice squad. There he sat un-plucked until the last week of November. BUF bit, and GB declined to match the offer, preferring to retain 7th rounder Matt Flynn.

That's not a ringing endorsement. Brohm has a lot to prove.

  3. I like RF as a backup, but, he throws some of the worst passes I have ever seen any starting NFL QB throw. m.

The short, or the long throws? Anyone attempting a long throw protected by BUF's rookie/injured OL last season, waiting for a receiver to motor down

field, was split seconds away from being splattered. That would rattle my throws.

  4. As someone else posted, there is a much higher success rate for conversion to the 3-4 than failure rate. So they don't look bad. But again, the season will bear that out.

That someone else might have also posted that the bulk of NFL teams hover around 8 and 8, changing schemes or not. In any event - out of the money.

  5. Please, even at 300 LBs, this should be a walk in the park for a supposedly highly conditioned athelete.

Yes, I would be sweating heavily, but there is no doubt that I could do this, I don't think that there is a

    time limit or anything.

According to the cited post, if you read it:

..."Then, after completing the first 300-yard run and following a five-minute rest period, the athlete must do it again."...

  6. Interesting, GRZ says Fitz is getting second reps in individual drills...

That makes sense. Fitz has games under his belt, a decent W-L record with the club, they have more contract $ going his way.

Brohm has no NFL track record. He only has the so-called "potential" as it stands. It's up to him to change opinions, if he can.

I suspect he'll get the 3rd qb non-game day spot.

Brown is a late-rounder. I'd be surprised if they put him on the PS, what with the OL in a rather thin state. If they do, he's safe. I can't think of a club that would pluck him and so have to put him on their active roster.

    All speculation, of course.

  7. Just watch the video, all of these highlights are from last year alone:

The kids got a ton of talent, he's just been injury prone....just needs a shot.

Another Chase Coffman - I appreciate "promise" but it sure looks like CIN wasted a #3 on him, and his busted foot. He did hobble back and had considerable practice time, and the official line from the club on him was "we are working to improve his blocking skills."

The last I read from him in the press, is that he's still working on the healing process or some such pap.

I doubt that players from the Missouri program will get much consideration from the B'gals in future drafts.

  8. The government that forced the industry to lend to people who by any sense, didn't qualify for a loan (of course, that garnered votes for the Dems) now says that mortgage brokers will be fingerprinted and registered in this "Financial Reform" Act.

Also contained in it is that the SEC can, behind closed doors, decide to close and/or confiscate any private business, and they are deemed immune from Freedom of Information Act requests. The press, the citizenry, can no longer question their acts.

Of course, as we know, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were excluded from the legislation...

    It's inexorable...

  9. I remember when he was drafted - I wanted the Bills to be able to get him ... obviously glad they did not.

Oddball thought - some club might have him on the roster as the 3rd QB, and activate him if their wr corps takes an injury hit. He didn't shine brightly when CIN signed him and worked him out, but evidently his health is fine, and he certainly has some wheels.

Regarding his drug use history - hard to say...young guy with a pocketful of jingle - an old story.

  10. LMAO I honestly feel for Marvin Lewis. He has to put up with both those asses all season long.

Don't feel bad for Marvin. You've probably never experienced his condescending tone to the press. Perhaps someday, in the waning moments of a game, he will learn to tell time. Learn how to use timeouts.

  11. Antonio Bryant has not impressed and they have concerns about his health at this point which is why they decided to bring in TO.

So I really doubt they will cut anyone going into the season.

IIRC, they have 10 WRs going into camp. My guess is they will carry 6 if they have to, or 5, if Antonio Bryant turns out to be damaged goods.

Ochodinko, Andre Caldwell, 3rd rounder Shipley are locks. Bryant's knee - he might get axed in favor of insurance-policy TO. If not, that adds up to 5, and I would be very surprised if they would risk putting their #6, Dez Bryant on the practice squad.

My guess is that '08 #2 Jerome Simpson, Maurice Purify, Jones, Quan Cosby (gutsy player, and was a decent PR for them last season - but Shipley probably fills the PR role, perhaps Pac-Man Jones) and Freddie Brown get axed.

Jones, Cosby, and Simpson (the book on him is million dollar physical skills but a ten cent head) should merit a look-see by BUF, IMO.

  12. It was bad because the Bengals didn't have a replacement for Housh, opposite CO. Coles proved to be a bust.

Coles didn't pan out but one has to appreciate their attempt to try and replace Housh. He had the early dropsies. But he was correct with his remark that Palmer likes "tall receivers" - because after the '05 knee injury, he throws high with some regularity.

In defense of him, he injured his left thumb in the 1st or 2nd game last season, so he handed off with his right hand. Did a remarkable job of it, too.

The pass attack fell pretty low after the late Chris Henry broke his arm. The B'gals increasingly began using an unbalanced line, running Benson and rookie Scott. When Benson was hurt for a few games, they brought in Larry Johnson - he did a serviceable job for them. Coles helped...I didn't realize what a good run blocker he is.

IIRC, Palmer only had 5 completions of more than 40 yards.
