  1. The injuries suck but how can you not be excited about this season? Chan did make it sound like we might have to temper our expectations in the upcoming Washington game, saying how the 1st unit O-line may not be out there.

    PTR

    1. First year unproven coaching staff (though they show signs of good coaching).

    2. Awful O-Line.

    3. Awful QB.

    4. New and mediocre D.

    5. Unbelieveably talented division.

Just to start to answer your question, thats why Im not excited about this season. Yes Im excited about football...but Im not sure how to be excited about the fact that the Bills only have a chance at winning 1 game (KC) all season. I hate watching the Bills lose, so no, Im not excited.

  2. Nice back-handed compliment. Gailey can't come out and say his player sucks, so I will say it for him. Hardy does not run like a receiver, does not have good hands and does not use his size to his advantage. He will be on the pine with some b.s. injury and will be gone in 1-2 years if not sooner.

Hopefully they just cut him...he'll never pan out and he was a draft from another regime. Based on how they handled Shoebel, it seems like the mindset is to just cut guys they're not interested in.

  3. In a laugh-filled day, that's the funniest thing I have heard/read/seen. Outstanding!

I dare to guess that I could say just about anything....and it would be the funniest thing you've ever heard based on the fact that you live in St. Augustine....which is laughable to me.

And of course its funny, most people dont have the balls to operate like I do...I mean lets face it, you couldnt say anything like that to anyone.

  4. to who? No one wants him at his current price especially after this offseason and possible upcoming lockout.

Actually, if Shanny was smart, he'd get up on a podium and say:

"Look, Last year when I wasnt here, they paid him too much. Frankly the guys a pain in the ass...talented, but almost not worth the headache. So if he shows up and can play, great, but we're not catering to a guy who is just a pain in the ass. I got a thousand things on my list of goals to accomplish, some lazy guy that cant get in shape enough to back up his teammates is getting moved to the bottom of my list."

Thats what I would say, because I have balls and shoot from the hip.

  5. who is going to use the stadium -

after the new owner moves the team out of town to a location with corporate base that can afford luxury boxes?

Maybe its yet another incentive to keep the team in Buff...? Not to mention the previously mentioned points...soccer, lacrosse, local colleges/high schools, events, etc.

In my opinion, its a good way to stack artillery for "reasons the Bills should remain in Buffalo"

Granted a stadium is not a great reason...but it will give taxpayers something to 1. Be proud of and 2. Get a renewed sense of ownership and loyalty to this team.

  6. I know I am not wanted here but I found a couple of quotes that appear to have validity.

    Fred Jackson:

"For us to get respect, we have to go out and make the people respect us," Jackson said. "The only way to change that is to go out and win ball games."

    Fred Smerlas:

"They make it very tough to root for," Smerlas said. "They bring in a coach no one really knows. When you're playing against (New England coach) Bill Belichick, who makes $10 million a year, I'm not putting Chan Gailey in there. I'm not putting a cat against a lion."

Noting that coach and quarterback are the most important positions to address for any team to be competitive, Smerlas added: "I have to have a game plan, and I need a guy smart enough to execute that game plan otherwise I'm dead. And they're just dead."

    These aren't my quotes.

Well, just my opinion, Smerlas is a ****head. He's was mediocre..he should keep his opinion in Southie like the dirtbag he is.

  7. Thanks for the update!

I hold out hope this team can go 8-8 this season but...

Im willing to bet anyone on this board $500 they dont win 6 games.

I mean, look at this report...its something out of a Stephen King novel. I know camp is just starting, but if this team is anywhere near what this guy is describing....this may be the worst football team of all time

I gave 6 games to keep in interesting, but I only see this team winning against Kansas City, because they're entire team, including their QB play is equally bad, and it could go either way.

  8. First off, I know, I know...nothing is carved in stone, it's just a pecking order because one has to exist.

But our QB is going to be Trent. Recall how he played when he first started playing for us. Remember how impressive he was. Recall how his teammates were rallying around him, with some saying that he will be in the same discussion with some of the best in the game today. Then he got his noggin bashed in, teams picked the lock of our offense, and our offensive coaches were never able to readjust and catch anybody by surprise anymore.

Last year everyone had had enough of Trent because our offense was just horrid - no matter who pulled the trigger. Trent's regression was due to a colossal failure of COACHING and preparation. Nobody would have fared well with the young, inexperienced line in front of him and a first-time coordinator running a simple bastardization of his own version of Turk's offense, which was his modified version of Fairchild's version of Martz' offense.

Last year was an absolute joke offensively. A desperate HC cuts his LT and OC a week before the games begin and gives the responsibility to a first-year QB coach? And then DOES NOT HIRE A QB COACH to keep an eye on Trent's mechanics. Unbelievable. The only team in the NFL with no QB coach. Read between the lines with the comments Trent made this year comparing last year to this year. It was a horrid operation and no player had a realistic chance to be productive.

We finally have an offensive HC, and a wise one with lots of experience. We might not be a playoff team but we're going to be fun to watch again because we're going to participate in high scoring games and not those 6-3 snoozefests that were a constant exercise in futility.

Trent is going to shine - he'll have his best year this year. Actually, I think any one of these guys would have their best year under Gailey. But Trent will earn back the respect people gave him in his early days.

Besides, when it comes to release, nobody on the roster comes close to Trent. He has an exceptional release and a much better deep arm than he's given credit for.

    Betcha

I totally agree with every point you have in here, but....I think trent is damaged beyond repair.

I think he lost the mental part of the game and it can not be restored.

  9. This what I think of our QBs. I know most will not agree.

Fitz: He's not that bad. Bad and injured O-line made it harder for him. But the Indy game showed me he can make throws when you give him time.,

Trent: Used to be a terrific QB. His concussion messed him up. Maybe he just lost confidence. Either way the switch went "off" after the AZ game.

Brohm: No real opinion. It's stupid to judge him on the ATL game being literally thrown into an NFL game. But I thought his passes had zip.

I don't care who starts at QB as long as they get the job done.

    PTR

I almost NEVER agree with you....But this time I agree 100%. In fact, I would add to Brohm: There's a hope here, because he had a great college career.

    Thats all.

  10. He wasnt that far off honestly.

I think its funny how most of you think the future is bright. It just goes to show that most of the people posting on this board have either just started watching Buffalo Bills football...or just plain dont understand the game, how a franchise works, and is the make-up of endzone party people that dont actually watch games.

  11. Not to mention throwing his old friend, Alex Van Pelt under the bus!

Kelly works for the Bills, in some capacity. I have to think, if he is now giving his support to Trent, he knows something that we don't know...

Funny thing is I live down here in South Florida, and I NEVER hear anything about Dan Marino criticisizing the Phins QB situation. Its kind of wierd.

I will say though, I like Jimbo sticking his big, dumb nose in the middle of everything.

  12. He's been in the league ONE YEAR!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous thought. :censored:

I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberrys.

he only played 1 year at Penn State........at least thats all anybody can possibly remember him playing there. He was invisible the rest of the time.

This guy totally sucks and I still hate the pick. Im actually rooting for him to fail to my hate for the previous regime grows stronger.

  13. In my opinion all three QB's are finally going to get the proper coaching/ attention they need to develop and flourish properly in the NFL.

Brohm, Edwards and Fitzpatrick under Chan Gailey will all three gain confidence/ knowledge that they will be able to carry with them into the future and myself personally, I think its a win/win/win situation.

I like Brohm's attitude and what he brings to the table, but I still give the edge to our Captain Checkdown/Glove wearing Mary.

Trent Edwards seems to have his confidence back and so far at least has expressed his willingness to let it all hang out,

I'm sure Gailey realizes where Edwards is at in his career and how crucial it is for him as a QB/ Leader of his Buffalo Bills football team, that he gets back in the saddle and rides. Brian Brohm may one day be the Bills long term answer at the QB position, but give the fella a year under our new HC and a chance to learn the offense.

Captain Checkdown/ Glove wearing Mary has taken off the Gloves and his time is now,

    I Billieve...

Ok, obviously when you woke up this morning, you took a giant swig from the whiskey bottle you leave under your bed. Trent has his confidence back? Really? Too bad that doesnt make a lick of difference because he's a BAD QB. Confidence or no confidence, he's an awful decision maker, with a questionable arm, behind an awful line. He's a total mess.

When are you guys going to realize that whoever is taking snaps this year, or next year, and possible the year after that....its just a tackling dummy.

THEY'RE BUILDING A TEAM FROM THE GROUND UP! You will not see the Bills in a playoff game, for a minimum of 3-5years...and thats their plan. When they see a QB they really like in the next 3 years, they'll take him and look for immediate impact.

So why even speculate on any quarterbacks? They're all !@#$ing terrible and it doesnt matter.

  14. I liked watching Vick when he was in Atlanta and I rooted for the guy in hopes that he would turn his life around after everything that he got himself into, but he keeps putting himself into situations that breed trouble. When you have time hanging over your head and all kinds of stipulations to live by because of choices you've made in life you need to do all that you can to avoid finding yourself in a predicamnet like this. He obviously hasn't taken things as seriously as he should have and now he finds himself in this place. He's not only hurting himself, but making everyone that's tried to help him through all of this and the one's who have stayed by his side look like fools. I hope one day he "gets it", but I don't want him here if the Eagles release him.

I respectfully disagree here. He cant control the fact that there was a shooting at a night club, the same night he had his party there. Also, he wasnt present when the shooting took place. So what is he supposed to do? Stay in all the time?

I agree that only leaving the house should be an action heed'd by an accused rapist (Roethlisburger) but not Vick.

He paid for his crimes, he needs to live life.
