  1. What about the barbecued shrimp & grilled oysters at Dragos? And a ham po-boy at Mothers?

I have had 3 trips in the last fews months for site visits and Super Bown week.

Ate at the Bourbon House in the Crown Plaza - awesome. And whoever mentioned Deanos in the Quarter is right - delicious and not too pricey. I thought Acme House overrated and the lines were way too long. Speaking of lines - Cafe Du Monde was a 1 hour wait - so we went down Royal Street (towards Canal) and found the Beignet Cafe. Walked right in and had fresh made beignets. Delicious.

Checked out the World War 2 museum and it's restaurant. This place has quadrupled in size over the last few years and is now a "must see" attraction but allow enough time. Went to Mardi Gras World too - it was great!

  2. MUST EAT AT: Port of Call (tiny burger place about a 5-10 minute walk from the Best Western, but their burgers and baked potatos - no fries- are amazing, seriously hit this place up)

Noooooooo. You actually ate burgers in New Orleans? :wallbash: You better come on back so we can teach you how to eat down there! And you missed the "Mother's" experience!

    :D :D

  3. Great rates at all 3 hotels. Frankly, someone at the best western should be fired for giving Aussie that low of a rate. It's not the best hotel ever but that's a ridiculous rate.

Thanks NoSaint. I'm actually a certified meeting planner in another life so love negotiating with hotels. You're right - the Quarter is 1 block away, but I always count the blocks to Bourbon Street.

Looking forward to whatever ideas you locals come up with for pre-game parties. And please keep it close by - most will not have vehicles.

Dragos - here I come!!! Broiled oysters yummmmm!

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

  4. What more information do you need on the hotel?. It's all in my previous post (click on the image to see the flier). My phone # is on the bottom if you have questions.

Everyone is on their own for tickets. They don't do the groups at this stadium without full payment up front. So, someone would have to go out and purchase the tickets outright and then try to resell them. If you know anyone who is solvent enough to do this please let me know.

  5. Wow - finally - hotel info for New Orleans. Five days on the phone and lots of emails. Have signed contracts in place for hotels that are near the action and within reasonable walking (or trolley) distance of everything.

I know you will find cheaper rooms out in the suburbs, but please consider the parking expense (and the risk of DUI) of drving back and forth in a rental car.

Hopefully this bugger is uploaded and you can see the attachment.
