That was a drop not a break up.

How does any of that matter when all they needed to do was get one yard for a first down and they couldn’t do it. You could have the best stats for the last 100 years but we failed absolutely failed when we needed to move the ball.

Thats why I have said we need to have 3 or 4 plays that would be go to depending on circumstances. But that of course would require our receivers to stop dropping easy catches at the most in opportune times .

Trey White was not equipped to handle the speed of Waddle and they exploited that. Quick accurate short to medium passes is what Tua does best. The five yards cushion on a play starting on the 3 yard line was reminiscent of the Cinici playoff game. The same on the 4th down play. Playing 5 yards off with a play starting at the 3 yard line certainly is not aggressive. It’s playing scared.

We have more than one problem, not sure if that’s hard to understand or not? We now struggle on short yardage 1 yard or so, we also can’t get it done on short yardage plays with consistency, especially in the playoffs. Didn’t think that was a difficult concept, but I’m here to be corrected.

That was early in the game. After the first drive in the second half it felt like most passes were at the LOS. We’re the db’s sitting back? Probably as they pretty much played with 3rd string except for Fitzpatrick. The Oline was not holding up at all though. Those to things are what drove what we got. They imposed their will on us unfortunately.

Probably a bad word. The passing game got shorter and shorter as the game went on. The drops were brutal though.

My complaints are not about last night but for what we have done with Brady at the helm overall his past two seasons in control. The question I can’t answer is , is it the talent at wide receiver position that holds this offense back when it’s needed to show up in the playoffs? If so then Beane has failed Josh miserably. If it’s not the talent then Brady is just unimaginative and too conservative at times. His revamping of the running game has worked wonders, if he could do the same with the passing game we could be legendary. I asked in another response is there a few plays we can count on to get 3-5 yards consistently when needed against a good defense? I don’t see it. Look what Miami did on third and long. The throw back and quick out. They understood our tendencies and where our defense was weak and attacked it perfectly. I don’t see that from Brady. This is no longer about the regular season. We know we can get enough wins there, this is totally about what we can do and what we do during the playoffs. And as of right now, I don’t see anything different than the past few years.

They had college level DBacks playing last night and we were anemic at passing. Oline was not prepared for Miami’s rush though which dictated what we got partially.

No my friend I’m going back to McDermott running this defense. It’s always had issues from day one whether it’s giving up 3rd and long or stopping good offenses in the playoffs. I didn’t notice the thread title was Rousseau 5 years, thanks for correcting me. Trey White is a huge problem to be honest. He probably is responsible for at least 14 being scored last night maybe more. Harriston needs to get healthy and up to speed by the playoffs.

The Fins secondary was beat up before this game and lost two players during the game and it still seemed as if we couldn’t throw more than 5 yards up field. It felt like we had more passes behind the LOS than past it.

Except it’s not 3 games, it’s 9 years.

We’re always down two starters. Really we are down one starter. When was the last time that we could rely upon Milano being a starter? He should’ve been replaced this year and left as a back up.

Can you name 3 or 4 plays we can count on to get us 3-5 yards consistently? Is there any play we do so well we can confidently pull it out in the playoffs against a good team when most needed? I don’t see any creativity on Brady’s part to achieve this. Our qb sneak has fizzled, it’s not a tush push as nobody pushes Allen like the Eagles push Hurts and we no longer replicate their results. Josh covers for the inept passing concepts that Brady has employed.

Except when stressed under pressure to score against a good defense in the playoffs we can’t even get a yard because they don’t respect our passing game.
