Here's an alternative take. The Bills turtled this meaningless preseason game so they could avoid injuries to key players. The Steelers D is a rough bunch. The Bills' constant penalties...all the mess-ups...the long plays. A perfect excuse to avoid contact with Josh Allen's kryptonite, JJ Watt. Also: maybe Beane and Kromer aren't as good as we think they are. Beane has failed to seriously address the OL again, the Kromer-coached OL looks like an undisciplined mess and Allen will probably be running for his life again this year. Blocking and tackling are the building blocks of football, not the flash and dash. Hopefully the Bills will straighten up and not have to find this out the hard way again.

The accident wasn't Hines' fault. He was standing still on jet skis and someone ran into him. He wasn't being reckless. Normal Joes use jet skis every day without incident and every player does something else in their leisure time. He should sue the drunk or whatever it was who ran into him on the jet skis to make up the difference.

I'm so sad about Hines. Not only is he a quality player, he's a quality man. The Bills d***ed around with his contract to fit him in and now they're d***ing around with his contract now that he's hurt. Shameful.

Apparently, the report said Hines was “sitting stationary” on a Jet Ski when another rider struck him and he sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries that will require surgery and force him to miss the entire upcoming campaign.

The Jets appear to have a logjam on the OL. Often-injured (until now) Mekhi Becton, a real specimen, has been described as "disgruntled" because the Jets put him at RT, exposing his right leg that keeps getting hurt, where his natural position is LT. When you get 100,000 - 300,000 viewers to watch you per show, you're not going to be commanding an exhorbitant salary that these guys have been getting. I think it's more of a sign that Cable is dying than anything.

Even though Diggs has the contract in hand, he might have a personal problem with Allen or anyone else, like Dorsey or McD, he might not go all out, might drop some passes etc. I remember when he was unhappy, Mogilny wanted out and kept missing breakaways to kinda force the issue. Then they traded him to the Canucks. Maybe Allen has turned into a Hollywood type and his limited brains can't handle all of it.

Floyd is another (possible) Von Miller-influenced signing, to go along with Shane Ray, David Edwards, Taylor Rapp and Travin Howard from the Rams in free agency this offseason. Maybe Von can be a GM assistant?

In the Madden '24, they had the Bills losing big to Philly, KC, Dallas, TB, Washington, the Giants and Jacksonville, in the usual way: Defense couldn't stop them and Allen takes too much time to make decisions and makes too many mistakes.
