Nick Chubb is one of the top two or three rushers in the league — and with far fewer attempts than Henry or Barkley and even Jacobs. Yesterday we held him to 19 yards on the day.
19 yards.
We were all afraid of Chubb and the Bills D totally held him in check. So, missing two pro bowl defensive backs Frasier and the D decided to let Brissett pass the ball — and try to beat us that way. He could not.
As good as Brissett was (I'd love to see him back up Allen), the Bills were in control of the game the entire second half.
The D did its job yesterday. With Poyer back in the lineup I expect the secondary to do its job for the remainder of the season. We don't have the veterans to lock down both the opponents run and pass game every game but our D will be good enough to win if the offense limits turnovers.

So, so happy to see good games from Knox and Cook. It it continues, we will return to being an offensive force...

Brisset is getting about 75 cents on the dollar compared with Keenum. Just based on this game, he's looking like good value. Is he always like this, or is this an outlier?

McDermott has the mad "I told you so" look. Probably with regards to the run game. I like it.

crazy that McKenzie doesn't even have a catch. I think Allen really misses that security blanket slot WR that Beasley was.
Yes, 2020 Beasley would put this team over the top.

Imagine when Cook actually gets used in the passing game? Sitting in the flats unguarded or maybe short middle and catches a pass and just has linebackers to deal with?

Great to see Cook finding holes up the middle and justifying his pick status... If we can use Cook and Knox more going forward — and win — this game can be a turning point for the season.

Bills had a really slow start but — as we know from the last couple weeks — it's how you finish that counts. And, yes, the games not over. But I like the way it's trending...

For $4.65 million I'd take Brisset as a backup.

Great drive: some running, using Knox in the short game, Pendulum (13) catches the ball, and kill shot with Diggs. Josh showed good judgment and didn't force it. More of this please.

If we win and figure out how to feature Knox and the backs into a gameplan, I'll be happy.

This is completely asinine.
The original poster is questioning the validity of Sean McDermott as a head coach as McDermott has been a head coach for five complete years without a Super Bowl championship.
Did you bother to look up that it took Andy Reid 20 years as a head coach to win a championship as a head coach? According to your "facts" and implications that if a coach hasn't won it all in a handful of years that he's not good enough, Reid should have never gotten the gig as KC's head coach. Right? That's a fact that he went far over a decade without a championship so KC was foolish to hire him, right?
I don't know if McDermott is the right coach for the bills (I suspect he's pretty darn good) but your argument is far beyond flawed. There are 32 teams in the league; with parity, it will take each and every team to 32 years to win one championship... But you're suggesting if a coach hasn't won it all in a half decade he should be highly suspect as incapable of ever doing so.
Please tell me you're not a math teacher or philosophy professor.- 2

Benford is a huge positive. Has he been perfect? No, but he held his own against veteran receivers and has helped an injury-ravaged team win games. Early on, I was almost thinking of getting his jersey as he is the epitome of the underdog: a 6th rounder pick starting over a first rounder. I hope he continues to improve and carve out a very good career as a long-term starter.

He’s still resting comfortably in his pile of money. We sure would hate to inconvenience him by doing his job while he’s not on the injury report or IR…
If that's the case, I hope his bad leg is elevated properly on a stack of Benjamins.

Man, would a Chargers win — and a Bills win — feel good.

Yeah this idea that he is somehow going to play slot-WR is half baked to me.
He is 5'9" and not very fast.
He doesn't play like a 4.38 WR.
He plays like a small 4.50 running back catching dump off passes and getting tackled after 7-yards.
If you don't believe your own eyes when it comes to Hines, do you believe Allen's and Digg's? When they first saw Hines run in practice they turned to each other and commented on how fast he was.

We can win with even a poor running game if we never turn the ball over. Easier said than done these days.

I don't know the route expectation but if Davis keep running hard and Josh throws it higher and leads the runner it seems like a good chance of a TD to me — and unlikely that it's picked. And Davis seemed to slow down after the ball came out and was looking short and low.
We've seen good Josh make throws like this routinely. -
Lots of Bills fans complain about bad calls but that Gabe call was the wrong one in our favor and I've seen multiple play of our secondary literally grabbing a fistful of Jefferson's jersey with no calls... Sometimes refs make the wrong call and sometimes we benefit.
Go Bills!- 2

WOW! Diggs is unreal. Catch of the season so far for the BIlls?

Why would watching a game live from the sidelines help him more than watching all-22 game footage of his own play?
Have people on this board never seen a QB go through a slump and play their way out of it? It happened to Allen himself last year a couple of times. 20 years we waited for a franchise QB, one bad game and a bunch of fans are coming up with panicky solutions.
A bunch of players were talking about how Josh is "coaching" everyone from the sideline. McKenzie said that Josh was watching him and said, "I didn't realize you ran that route like that."
That's a small thing but proof that Josh can learn some things from the sideline.Am I saying it's going to lead to some major epiphanies? No. But it's possible to discover some things — or perhaps relearn some old perspectives that may have slipped a bit — from the sideline.

The Trevor Lawrence note that the picture was actually edited is pure gold.
On a personal note, Josh looks like the younger brother of the woman I had the longest relationship with after my divorce — and the action with her was very, very good. Needless to say, looking at Josh's face for the first couple years was weird.
-
Injuries in and of themselves are never good. But I believe Josh sitting on the sideline and watching the game and reflecting about his recent struggles may lead to a wiser Josh when he returns. Sometimes when things are going bad a break and some time off are a good thing.

Packers fans may be familiar with one of the more well-known incidents. It took place in January 2017 in the days leading up to the Packers playoff game with the New York Giants at Lambeau Field. Beckham and some teammates took a trip down to Miami and were photographed on a boat during a day off from practice.
Yes, it was a day off, but it certainly didn’t look like Beckham was concentrating on the game plan for the upcoming playoff game. Beckham didn’t play well in the game, catching only four passes on 11 targets for 28 yards. The Packers won the game 38-13 and the fallout from the Beckham photograph and trip was clearly a distraction for the Giants in the days leading up to the game."
Yikes, the Buffalo fanbase — and the supposedly mighty Von Miller — have been hoping to acquire a player who GOT ON A BOAT DURING A PRACTICE OFF-DAY? What the hell are we all thinking!?

Great video. Really shows he's a reallly smart player who isn't afraid to get dirty too. He's going to replace one of our two great but aging safeties pretty soon — for economic reasons — but should do a capable job.
