I disagreed that he has some of the traits that Josh Allen has

That is not to say that he is even close to the player that Josh is but he has a good arm and he’s mobile and has plenty of NFL experience

And who is not to say that they still can’t draft a guy anybody that you draft which will probably be at the end of the draft is going to need time

He’s never been a truly mobile qb, unless you count his best year in 2018 with 400 yds. If Allen ever goes out for a few games my biggest worry is that you’re just not running the same offense with Mitch, asking him to scramble for 1st downs or running qb draw in the redzone. It’s just not worth the money whatever the terms are.

For example Max Duggan was a promising talent and LAC got him in the 7th round on a $795k/yr deal. Has similar traits and abilities to Allen - albeit WAY less than Josh obviously. But I’d trust him and not changing the game plan much vs Mitch for way less money. Idk why we can’t try and find that match in the draft late or UFA/UDFA route.

FA cheap guys I would’ve liked instead: Mariota, bridgewater, tyrod

  2. I don’t get the love for this guy. Yes he was our former backup. Yes he was a top draft pick that had promise. Yes he’s been horrible lately and has ZERO traits Josh does. Is our season over if Josh gets hurt - yes. So I’m not completely phased at who our backup is. But at least get someone who can sub in and play the same offense that Josh does ICOE. Scrambling ability alone says Mitch is not that. Your backup should be a guy that can go in and win 2-3 games in a 4-5 game stint should Josh have some minor injury. I would have 0 faith in mitch if this happened and the offense would completely change. Go grab a UDFA this draft that has legs and call it a day. I just don’t like this as a backup plan. At all.

  3. 11 picks now. Good move. Don’t care so much about the cap “relief” this year, but next year I saw opens up ~$5mil? This board has a ton of love for a backup 27 yr old OL. Get younger in the draft. Hope that means we move some picks around but honestly with the youth movement we’re about to see I don’t hate keeping them all.

I had come to terms with the face we wouldn’t be the ones who signed him after all the bs that went on…

However, Kansas City?… because, of course it’s Kansas City.

    Literal same reaction

  5. Because of course he is...FWIW the Bills would never have resigned him and everyone here clamoring for that was nuts. You think he would willingly sign with an organization that cut him/stunted his career before he was even proven innocent? No shot.

    Here's my way of thinking....

The Bengals are basically the only team in the league that can beat KC consistently. They're proven it time and again.

In a copy cat league where teams are trying to emulate, grow and expand their playbooks with different calls, routes, whatever, by watching and learning from other teams, why, oh why are we not trying to copy the system devised by the Bengals against the Chiefs, that we know works?

We're not trying to re-invent the wheel here....use the system that has been created by the Bengals and run with it.

The Bengals and Bills are both 3-2 in their last 5 games against the Chiefs. I wouldn't say they are the "Blueprint to beat KC".

  7. Healthy, top 10 OL all year

Healthy top 3 QB all year

Healthy pro bowl RB all year

Top 10 TE in yards all year

    (Mostly) healthy WR's all year

    Only won 1 playoff game.

I think Cook is fine - maybe just needs to improve his catching. But this team will not advance any further until they upgrade the WR's. They need a HEAVY overhaul there. Every other Offensive position group is pretty highly rated. The WR's are bringing the team down, not Cook.

  8. "Before his tenure at Miami, Addae won a national title on the staff at Georgia. He also served as the co-defensive coordinator at West Virginia and had earlier stops at Minnesota, Arizona and Cincinnati."

Great hire. My guess is we'll have a lot of depth pieces taken later in the draft at DB, and this is the perfect guy to help coach them up. Also would be great if it propelled Elam but who knows.

  9. The problem with these stats is that they're all averages. Yes, it all adds up to great records YoY, and good teams/etc. But in the big moments, against the best teams, this team fails year after year. A lot of that blame I put squarely on the coach.
