I bet Joe Schoen would trade a 4th for him, or he could be a piece in a move up to #6

The giants have $15mil a year tied up into Waller. They’re not giving anything for another overpaid TE with production like Knox

  2. The only feelings I have after processing this all day is that it just sucks. It sucks that we couldn’t get one damn championship let alone an appearance with a guy that will finish 4th in most Bills WR all time records. With an all star QB and an elite top 5 WR the closest we came (game wise) was a blowout AFCCG loss in KC. It just sucks.

I am frustrated every January when they lose out to Mahomes and the Chiefs.   You werent wrong in saying they probably should have won one.  That said, Diggs was no longer a top 5 player at his position in the NFL, and he made it more than clear he didnt want to be here.   There was no sense keeping up the charade and the distractions.   I am very sure they will walk away from the draft with one of Harrison, Nabers, Odunze or Thomas.  I am also very confident they will have money to do even more at WR in 2025.

I will take who the Bills are today over just about anything they've been since the 1990s.  Try to enjoy them being the best they've been in 30 years.  I am still confident they will win one with Josh and I am glad it wont be with Diggs.

While I love the optimism and agree about the very last part, I'm not convinced we will sniff a draft pick close enough to land one of those top 4 WR's. But I hope.

You dont make real life decisions on what was or what isnt.   You make real life decisions on what is.   You're also using the word "elite" very loosely when referring to last year.      There were 4 Elite players at wideout last season, Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, CeeDee Lamb, and Amon Ra St Brown.   Those guys put up huge numbers and were game changers.   Not one of them played with a QB near as good as Josh Allen.

We will find a new #1 wideout and hopefully he will be a more well adjusted person.

The 3 elite years were prior to last year, my apologies. I'm exuding frustration that this franchise couldnt win 1 with an elite top 5 WR and a top 2 QB and now we're parting with half of that.

This is such a a bad take. It's like only big name players like TO or nothing.

Player development is a thing. Guys emerge from PS or low draft picks to become solid players.

Hodgins has been injured. He has trouble staying healthy, but lots of solid flashes. He's closer to Stevie Johnson than he is Duke Williams.

I like the player and think he would be a decent option to come into a camp and fight for a roster spot. He's a solid vet.

I said nowhere that I only want big name guys. I just said I'm sick and tired of stacking WR3s instead of actually drafting and developing one - something you accused me of not wanting to do. You agreed with about half of what I said so it couldnt be THAT bad of a take 🤝

  6. Nooooooo. Why are we always obsessed with underachieving former WRs like Hodgins, McKenzie, Robert foster, Kumerow, duke williams. We do NOT need guys like Hodgins. We bring him in to do what, take snaps away from an actual promising guy like Shakir? I’m happy our collective fanbase agreed (mostly) that Gabe should walk for the $$, we’re getting smarter. We do not need a collection of WR3’s. At this point if beane can’t swing for a Hollywood brown or a M Williams then it’s the draft and it better be a rd 1 pick or I’ll feel helpless. No more settling for depth wrs for Josh. Were neglecting it.

Realistically the #2 receiver in terms of production will be Kincaid. It would be great if the rookie is #3. But that could very well be Shakir.

Then there's Cook and Knox. So that's a top 6 pass catchers being Diggs, Kincaid, Shakir, Rookie 1, Cook, Knox.

Kincaid should have close to 100 catches and 1000 yards this year... Imo, they need to find a way to get Kincaid, Diggs and Shakir on the field at the same time frequently. And that might mean a focus on tight formations.

Totally forgot about him when looking at the receiving corp. Thank god.

If he replaces Neal at gunner than there's a good chance we can go back to carrying 6 wr's as well.

    So it's:

    1. Diggs

    2. Draft (1st or 2nd round)

    3. Shakir

    4. Draft (please)

    5. Hollins vs. Shorter

    6. ???

    Even this frightens me 😬

In all seriousness, what is your problem with this signing?  He's been a career STer, he's put up some numbers when he got the chance.  New Jake Kumerow or Trent Sherfield candidate.  Sounds like he's got a bit of a screw loose, which is right on point for a guy who might play gunner.

That's my problem right there. Both those guys were NOT good, and both saw time in the WR 3 role. It's not great.
