I don't know about the NFL but when Ron Hextall was in charge of the Flyers they had a sign up that said something like "No one is above the team. You play our way or your don't get ice time and we don't care who you are." So they literally DID sit some of their best people for stupid disciplinary crap like trying to use skill instead of being muckers and grinders and making the coach look like the idiot he was. That kind of egotistical tyranny is what got Ron fired and Dave Hakstol is now running the Kraken into the ground. I certainly don't see McDermott doing something like that but I know all too well the NHL is full of dinosaurs so there's probably some in the NFL.

I don't know about the Sabres but many other teams just keep giving important positions to unqualified former players over and over and over. I won't have enough likes to pass around to all the others who have lost people. I lost by grandmother around the Bills-Redskins Super Bowl (I drew her a pic of a Redskin cowering with a looming Buffalo in the foreground). My father died the summer of 1994. My brother died a few months before the playoff drought ended. I especially wish my brother held on a few years longer but his transplanted heart was 20 years old. It was already a miracle he practically doubled his lifespan and got to have a family. I admit I wasn't too vested in the team for large chunks of the drought but it was either Bills football or no football. Get that Lombardi for all that have gone before. Let's Go Buffalo!!!
