The 2 problems with him are off the field and he doesn't show up for the regular season
We can use all the help we can get in the playoffs, for the right price of course lol.

First player that came to my mind: James Hardy
At least we didn't spend an early second on this guy lol.

He looks huge in the highlights.
I mean, why not? It's the 5th round. Seems to have all of the physical attributes a WR needs. Maybe some good coaching will unleash some potential here.
At the very least we can have an amazing hands team in the red zone, with height and strength.
It's a 5th round pick, hopefully he's a star, but if he contributes anything it's a success.

Lmao! A reach in the 5th round
Was thinking the same thing lol, I wonder if Brady was a reach in the 6th....Belichick should have drafted the 2nd best punter over the 8th best QB 🤣

30-300 and 3 TDs would be a success in this offense.
And don't discount it, we are most likely talking about 20 first downs and 3 red zone TDs. That can win quite a few games considering we are always a play away...besides the Bengals game last year.

I mean sure but we have had some awesome offenses. I like the optimism but the rb room leaves a lot to be desired and we need a legit #2 receiver. However without a doubt, it is possibly our best TE room next to mark campbell and Tim Euhus!!!
If they can actually attack with the TEs Gabe might just be open more.
-
Well considering his track record this is far from the worst he has done.

Something tells me Beane didn't trade up for fun. He felt he wouldn't be there at 27.
He was in the room and I wasn't, who am I to say he was wrong?
-
Outside of the known and obvious character issues, is he even a viable NFL receiver at this point?
I wouldn't think so, he was a non factor in TB for the most part. Headache outweighs the talent by a long shot. Harbaugh would be crazy to allow it.

It happens, just need the contract done prior.
So maybe Beane is cooking up the 3 way trade, DHop (and AZ eats $4M of the $19M) for Oliver, and then AZ is trading Oliver to Houston for a 2nd (where Houston has reworked his contract to include an extension). Something like that.
I would be ecstatic about that, just because I think Dhop > Oliver in any capacity on the field this year.

Players on the last year of their contract don't fetch much. We absolutely wouldn't get a 2nd for Oliver and we'd be lucky to get a 3rd.
I don't think they could either unless Oliver agreed to an extension while being traded, which he wouldn't.
I was just making a best case scenario for the trade, and keeping him at this point still makes more sense.
-
Jack Campbell and Drew Sanders are available at 59 and the Bills have options.
-
Well, Oliver might bring a 3rd , or for sake of argument let's say second.
Would you rather have Oliver in a contract year, probably going to be a good year unless he is completely incapable, and a 3rd for compensatory pick.
Or, trade him for a 2nd this year?
I'd take my chances on a monster year knowing I won't pay him regardless and take the 3rd on top of it.
-
Yeah, hiring Bill O'brien shows they are out of touch. IMO his coaching hindered alabama last year and they knew it wouldn't change. He was fired without being fired (contract ran out with no renewal offered)
The Pro game becomes more like college every year and he couldn't do it in college. His scheme is aging fast, so it's fitting he is on the Patriots.
Mac Jones should just be happy he's getting 1st round QB money. Maybe if they trade him for a 2nd or 3rd (if that's possible) and tank for a top pick it's their best option.

I want to see them create a Rejects team.
Cam Newton at QB, TO, Beasley..
All the guys that scream they still have it and line them up against an NFL squad and just go.
Will never happen but I would buy a ticket lol.

Absolutely yes with zero hesitation. People overvalue the draft way too much. Get the guy we know is great right now and try to win the Super Bowl.
In all situations I wouldn't support your thought process, but right now with Allen and the Bills? Absolutely, give it up and move on.

Aaron Curry LB out of Wake Forest. Seahawks took him 4th overall and I thought he would be an instant HoF player, I was dead wrong lol.

Birmingham is a horrible football city for anything but college, I grew up there. (Not proud of that lol)
Why they continue to try and put football that isn't SEC into Birmingham blows my mind.
Even UAB has attendance issues when they are winning.

I think y'all call it CAPITALISM 😎
100%, just remember in capitalism you have to have a buyer at your price for your product to make it legitimate.
If no buyers exist at your asking price you have to adjust your market. Making max profit doesn't always mean you get what you thought you could.

Darnell Washington.
6'7"
largetst hands by about half an inch at 11"
heaviest TE at the combine (264lbs) and yet the 6th fastest 40 time at the position.
longest arms (34.38") by about half an inch
Only reason he might be available at #27 is due to his underutilization in the Georgia offense.
I want Big "O" because he is an OL pick and a pass catcher. He is a true mismatch, I don't know when to take him but I hope he ends up in a Bills Uni.

Young played his first two years in the league for Tampa, who at the time was one of the worst teams in the league. I think it's a bit short sighted to just site sports medicine/nutrition as the reason Brady played longer. Look at some of the hits QB's took in the 80's. No amount of medicine or nutrition would allow the body to hold up. The fear of taking those shots and being concussed over and over as Joe was certainly would impact any player. At the end of the day I can't dispute giving the nod to Brady but so many better reasons then some of the things being discussed.
Definitely can't argue QB protection through rules didn't help Brady stay healthy. I do believe Sports medicine/nutrition played into it as well.
Probably alot of parts to the equation, doubtful anyone can pinpoint the one "smoking gun".
And also, do refs count? Lol

Now if he can learn not to go Ragdoll/deer in headlights when he gets hit.
Not sure the size is going to help, it's not his extremities getting injured.
Bills are grandpa's based on average roster age.

It's just letting you know if you are 30 and not a QB, you should start looking for alternative employment immediately 🤣
