I've been going back and forth on whether the wind is an advantage or disadvantage to the Bills. I'm thinking it's more of a disadvantage to the Bills because they are the superior passing team. Any thoughts?

Personally, I think the wind will be an equal disadvantage - unless the Wind Gods decide to ease up only when the Bills have possession.  🤔

Many years ago, I married a beautiful Filipina who grew up in the sunny equatorial city of Davao where NFL football is barely known.

I explained to her that while I might be old, I am not old-fashioned.  I believe women are equal to men.  When we married, we'd be partners and she could do as many - or few - of the household chores as she so chose.  If she didn't want to cook, clean, or do the laundry...  well, that was her choice as a fully realized human being capable of independent thought and with her own life priorities.

But I did have one non-negotiable requirement.  She had to become a Bills fan.

Last night, she ordered Buffalo Wings to be delivered at game time today.  Today she went to work in Bills gear.  The rituals have been respected.  The omens are right.  The Bills will win.

Sounds like a good woman to me!!  👍

I think this team knows how important this game is.

I think McDermott's been in their ear all week long about beating "the 1st place Patriots".

I think they'll want to play really hard for Tre.

I think the crowd is gonna be absolutely bonkers.

I think the Bills defense will give Mac Jones fits.

I think the Pats defense will give Josh Allen fits.

I think the weather will impact the game.

I think whoever commits more turnovers loses the game.

I think the Bills and Pats split their series this year, the Bills ultimately go 4-2 in their remaining six games and make the playoffs.

I have no idea who wins the division or gets the one seed. The AFC playoff race is as tight as I can ever remember it being.

No seriously...  what do you really think??  😉

It's a lot more logical to believe there were two shooters than some widespread scheme to fix the entire sport of football.

Absolutely more logical - totally agree!!

but... some folks really need an active conspiracy in their lives to keep themselves warm at night.

    Some numbers:

121 officials, seven per game, 272 regular season games, 1,800 NFL employees.

96 million views, last season's Super Bowl was down but still the No. 1 sports event draw.

$15.3 billion - 2019 revenue, by far the biggest sports draw in the country. The NFL has steadily increased revenue every year since 2001, with a logical drop in 2020 due to the pandemic.

While human nature is human nature — I'm sure there is some bad behavior on an isolated scale — but what would happen to this goldmine if widespread game fixing was unearthed? It would more than likely be a tremendous blow to the millions of fans everywhere.

Conspiracies take three things to succeed.

    • A compelling reason to start a conspiracy.
    • A high number of competent conspirators.
    • An ability to keep said conspiracy under wraps 365 days a year in a world where everything is leaked.

While it is appealing to see Belichick vs. Brady, my instincts say fans want something different. "Anybody but the Patriots".

Once one's head is wrapped around a conspiracy, logic and fact will rarely persuade. It's easy to see trends that favor a massive plot and even easier to ignore trends pointing against it. It's why we, as fans, regardless of team, believe the refs are against us.

Conspiracies are easy to believe in. And they're near impossible to pull off.

The fact that you went to that much trouble to debunk a potential conspiracy tells me one thing.

There's still a chance it could be true.... 😉

Oh, and....  "back and to the left.... back and to the left"

  6. The only way to deal with rain, wind and cold is layers, layers and layers.  Preferably topped off with something that will actually shed water / snow.  Getting wet down by your skin is what will really do you in.  Quality rain gear is key - somethign way better than a simple poncho - unless it's a really thick one.  Keep your hands covered and think about wearing some kind of mask or face gear.  Cover as much of your skin as you can - that'll help with the wind as well.

  7. Crappy weather games are just part of the experience of being a Bills fan.  Does it suck sometimes - sure it does!  But it really is one of the things that sets this fan base apart. Despite crappy conditions, the fans still come out and cheer on the team.  I think at times it actually motivates the players to see the fans suffer thru the same stuff they are.

Will it bring out the best of the team on Monday.  Maybe, maybe not, but think about how you'd feel if you were a player and you walked into a half empty stadium - like Jacksonville.  Being all in is just what being a Bills fan is about.

I hope the wind does down too - but can't control that part.

    Go Bills!!!!

Dion Dawkins mentioned Star discussing battling breathing issues with him while he was away from the team. Quite possible, if not likely, that he's still dealing with after effects even though he's no longer contagious and able to return. I agree, I'm starting to think he may not be ready to go and if he does - he won't be 100%

Maybe getting both Star and Brown back was too much to hope for.  Hopefully Brown's presence (and attitude) will help spark the Offense. 🤞
