Take the cotton out of your ears and stick it in our mouth.

It's painfully obvious who is watching the evidence unfold live during the hearing and those that are not.

Unfortunately had to ignore B-Man after looking at some of his posts. Lots of what about this and what about that with links to right wing punditry, while ignoring the live proceedings.

Maybe you could be like that Lynrd Skynyrd guy and complain that this isn’t smoking gun evidence.

I agree with you.  I’m sensitive to free speech considerations, but the circumstantial evidence is just too much here.

Everyone with a brain knows that the election theft hoax is a (the) Big Lie.  Literally everyone.  Even Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley (both of whom are very smart, unlike, for example, Mo Brooks).  Yet Trump raised money on the issue, repeatedly repeated the lie, egged on his supporters, brought thousands of them to within sight of the Capitol at the time the EC vote was to be certified, let Rudy talk about trial by combat, told his supporters not to be weak and to fight, and then turned them loose on the Capitol.  Today we’ll learn that he didn’t give an eff that the Capitol had been breached and refused to immediately ask his supporters to stop the violence.  This isn’t a Trump issue for me.  It’s an American issue and a common sense question.  I can’t imagine better circumstantial evidence that this fool catalyzed the violence.

They have not made a big point of it that I have seen, but Trump (obviously lying) telling the protestors he is going to march to the capitol with them is also a catalyst for the chaos.

There is video evidence from 1/6 of insurrectionists reading Donald's tweets out load and using them to justify the attack.

Donald's allies and staff begged him on Twitter and in person to call off the insurrection, but instead he egged the insurrectionists on.

Tough to dismiss those points even if you somehow find him innocent.

Anyone who can’t see the political theatre side to all this is blind. Democrats don’t care about anything other than a side show as many have pointed out to fragment the opposition party and consolidate power. It’s not about right and wrong. It’s about keeping the boogey man front and center of their base as long as possible and distract the moderates from some of the more leftist policy (if your a moderate Democrat, or just moderate have a look at the covid relief package details and some EOs)  they are pushing in the background which are not hitting press headlines. Their other agenda is to brand all non democrats as insurrectionist supporters and fascists.

This is a wild accusation. What evidence points to this, especially on a national level? Even the impeachment managers have each gone out of their way to say that not everyone at the capitol is to blame and the ones who enflamed the rhetoric and invaded the capitol are.

Where did I say that? If the President is asking for support of his request for an investigation into election fraud, that’s not supporting insurrection.

The request for an investigation into election fraud is a fabrication and the reason for the ongoing insurrection that happens during the phone call.

You clearly have no idea how government works. Your example here is what goes on every time a bill is put on the floor. The leaders of the House, Senate and/or White House start working the phones to see if they have the votes or if they can sway people to their side. Unless there’s more to it...this gun isn’t smoking. How do you think it works?

Wouldn't you agree working the phones to sway people to the side of the insurrectionists looking to kill the VP Pence during the insurrection is a little different than working the phones to see if he's got votes?

I see what you are saying but to compare the two as equal is a stretch.

I still wonder why a permit for peaceful demonstration would be denied to begin with.

A hunch - but probably because of the threats the FBI were aware of prior to the insurrection. The leader of the Proud Boys was arrested when he landed in DC I believe on the 4th or maybe it was the 5th of January. It's not rare, either, for demonstrations to be limited to specific locations.

    1.  Why was the permit originally denied?

See my edit on #2, please.

They did not go into details. They also mentioned the original date was scheduled for January 22nd or 23rd and the date was changed by the behest of Trump.

Here is the original permit for 1/2 - 1/8

I also misheard that part of the presentation and my #2 is 100% factually inaccurate. I put two separate facts together into 1. I've edited the original post. Below is what is correct.

There were at least $3.5 million in shell payments to groups associated with the attack. No idea if those payments have stopped or not.

Donald spent over $500 million on stop the steal and the like ads. Those ads immediately stopped after the insurrection.

They were paid to do a job that didn't include storming the Capitol, and when that happened, the payment was withheld -- meaning that may not have been foreseen by Trump.

Maybe - please see my edit. I was incorrect in the facts.

  10. In my opinion every single time Donald Trump spread the "big lie" and called on his supporters to fight and stop the steal is a smoking gun. It's evidence of incitement, but since it's been in plain sight for months (years, one could argue - did he not do the same thing in 2016 with his "voter fraud commission?"), it's hardly seen as smoking gun evidence .

One damning fact I did not learn until today

    1. An additional permit was needed for the protestors to march from the Ellipse to the capitol. This permit was originally denied until Donald Trump got involved with the planning.

    2. Trump’s political operation paid over $3.5 million to the January 6th organizers and stopped payments immediately after the insurrection.
