We're not talking about people that have Covid 19 and don't show symptoms. We're talking about people who came into contact with a confirmed Covid 19 carrier for 15 minutes or longer. A big percentage of which never catch the virus.

I also tend to disagree with someone who has Covid 19 without symptoms being the most dangerous. They don't sneeeze, they don't cough and If all the guidelines are followed. Social distancing, mask wearing, I'm not sure how from a general public standpoint it makes them any more dangerous then your typical carrier displaying all the symptoms.

    With all due respect Dean

Because unsymptomatic people (pre-symptomatic and those who never show symptoms) who are Covid positive are THE MOST DANGEROUS of all, when it comes to the spreading of the virus. That's why!

    Agree with this

I just wanted to say that it is so gross and sad and disappointing and nauseating and infuriating that so many people still don't recognize the very real problem of systemic racism in this country in general, and police brutality against people of color in particular.

Anyone who says it's not a real problem only has the luxury of feeling that way because they have the privilege of not having to confront it every time they leave the house. You don't see racism and police brutality as problems because you have the PRIVILEGE of ignoring the prevalence of them and the dangers they pose. It's that simple.

That's all. I'm honestly not interested in debating the existence of systemic racism and police brutality in our country, because I recognize that both are FACTS OF LIFE in America in 2020. There's no sense in debating the existence of something that is very clearly real.

It is so exhausting and so disheartening to see this stuff again and again and again, and to know that nothing is changing, that nothing is improving. It is so exhausting and so disheartening to see people explain away the violent and unlawful actions of the police simply because "the person they murdered deserved it because he was a petty criminal!". As if whatever crime the person committed entitles the police to murder them in cold blood. It is so exhausting and disheartening to see that the men who killed Breonna Taylor -- who was in her own home, asleep in her bed, committing no crimes -- are still policemen. It is so disheartening and exhausting to see people defend them, defend other murderous police officers, defend vigilante lunatics with guns and LARP costumes and justice fantasies. It is so disheartening and exhausting to see so many people be more upset that they don't get to watch their precious sports game than they are that people of color keep getting murdered by armed agents of the state with impunity.

I'm this exhausted and this disheartened, and I'm only a spectator. I'm not a person of color, living this truth and this danger every day of my life. Imagine how exhausting and disheartening and terrifying it must be for THEM?

My heart hurts, seeing this stuff again and again. I don't know what else to say. We can do better. We can be better. If not now, when?

Amen. I can't believe this thread.

We're talking about two different things here. The CDC doesn't want to test someone who has not shown symptoms vs Asymptomatic patient/case.  Asymptomatic case or patient is someone who has tested positive without displaying symptoms. If you follow what I'm saying.

I got it - thanks for the clarification - I could have worded it much better. I updated my previous post to try and make it more clear.

I guess I am trying to understand the scientific rationale from the CDC's perspective to stop testing those who have not shown symptoms, especially when tests are readily available.

If you think you have it Covid 19 quarantine. Its not the flu or cold season and If everyone would just isolate themselves when they have it tthe world would be a safer place.

    Of course.

Asymptomatic patients spread the virus as well, correct? The same CDC who changed the recommendations today claims that ~40% of the cases are asymptomatic. The more of those cases that are not caught, traced, and isolated, the more cases the country will have in general from spread.

Maybe I'm reading the whole thing wrong?

Trying to test someone who is not showing any indication they have Covid 19 is a test and time better spent on someone showing symptoms wouldn't you agree?

I think mass testing regardless of symptoms (If there are not enough tests, that's another story) is the best way to trace and isolate all positive cases.

Emperor Cuomo is none too happy with the CDC.

Nor is every scientist/healthcare professional commenting on the CDC changes.

I have been trying to find since I learned of the changes this afternoon... what is the scientific rationale for not testing potential asymptomatic cases?

Kamara has elite route running ability and speed, the one quality our backs don't have. There are still plenty of options for featuring both our guys though.

No doubt Singletary doesn't have the speed of Kamara, but he runs great routes. He gets open very well for an RB, but he did drop a few passes last year he should have caught.

I noticed you edited your article after reading my suggestions about the Ravens finishing in first place. You still need to edit the NFC West division records, though.

Instead of giving me a "Thank you for catching my error" you call someone else a coward?

Don't you get paid for this? I'll take my cut as your editor.

  9. I am concerned about Singletary's fumbling but I think it is an area he will improve on. A lot of backs in the NFL have one year outliers where they fumble often, and for some it was their rookie year. I did not see much of Moss in college, but from the highlights I see a Mark Ingram style back.

Daboll should watch some film on what Brees and the Saints did with Kamara and Ingram in the backfield a couple of years ago and try to replicate that with Singletary and Moss.
