Maybe Beane had a leak he was trying to seal or was just using his wizardry on poor old Belechick. “Hey guys we’re trading up for Dugger”. Belechick sees a chance to pay back Beane for stealing Corey Bojorquez and drafts Dugger. Epenesa then falls to the Bills and Beane drafts him. Mission accomplished.

This was a weird year for the usually airtight Bills. The virtual draft had more info slipping out than usual. Additionally, they tried to trade up for Duvernay.
I wish they would have drafted Darnell Mooney WR out of Tulane. He went 173 to the Bears in the 5th round. Bills selected Fromm at 167 in the 5th. Would be curious to know what they thought of him.

It will be very interesting to see if the Bills show interest in these players when/if they are released, available for trade, or become a free agent.

I believe Kirby so I will assume the Bills did intend on drafting him if he was there. They didn’t get him. So, will this be a high priority position in the 2021 draft? Any college players that would be of similar talent for next years draft?

The Bills wanted Dugger. The Bills were prepared to move into the 40’s for Dugger. Dugger was drafted at 37. The Bills pivoted and took Epenesa. That happens to teams all of the time. Every single team, in every single draft has guys that they want, that they think they can get, that are gone by their next pick.
They probably tried trading up and could have, but they didn’t love him enough to give up the 3rd round pick (Moss). In hindsight, looking at who they got with their picks, it probably worked out better for them. They could have had Dugger if they would have given up the required picks, but they would have missed out on some combination of Epenesa, Moss, Davis, and Fromm.

Disappointing that they didn’t get their guy, but I think Epenesa will have a better long term effect on the team. Who would Dugger have replaced? Andre Roberts on returns? Hyde and Poyer are the safeties. Was Hyde going to be traded? Would he move to linebacker? I really liked him and he will be good on the Pats, but I don’t see where he would have played this year.

Probably not afraid to beat the Bills again. I’m glad he’s gone. Probably just tired of Belechick.

These legends are always hitting up the rookies and free agents to make them feel welcome. I’m sure when Thurman welcomes Zack Moss to Buffalo, it was huge for Zack.

I think the Bills drafted a bunch of humble kids. I’d be the same way. I think Moss and Epenesa are both humble kids. They are excited to be Buffalo Bills. They are just quiet, humble guys. They’ll show their excitement on the field.
