  1. Mahomes will be pumped this time around. Overlooked team considering how hot they were last year and how well they're now playing. Sammy is playing better for them than he ever did for us. Tyreek is obviously money, but Hardman and Robinson are underrated too. Chiefs 34-17.

  2. We have tons of fans not just all over the country, but all over the world. I saw someone in the same Bills winter hat I've had since I was 15, walking down the street in Berlin. I've seen people wearing Bills gear in Sydney.

If we can win a Super Bowl or two in this era we will unite all the 40somethings and over who remember Thurman, Jimbo, Bruce, Andre, Biscuit, etc., with younger people and be a legendary team... the wagons will be totally circled... let's get this DONE!

And that second running back I think is going to be found in the draft.  The value isn’t their in free agency for anyone besides maybe Jay Ajayi or Jordon Howard

I agree that if this is the situation I would want one more DE going into the draft, and I’m actually surprised I didn’t add one to this group.

Agreed, the draft is the best place for the second RB--rookie contract, fresh legs, and we have a long history of finding great runners in the draft.

  4. This was amazing, thanks for organizing all this information. Couple comments:

    1) This breakdown reminds me of the value of players who can do two things, or even three. They are crucial. For instance, how Steve Tasker was our special teams ace, a very good returner, and a *great* 4th receiver all within one roster spot.

    2) We have too many roster spots dedicated to players who play only one function not better others on our team: DiMarco, Roberts, Foster, McKenzie, etc. Less players who can do more beats more players who all

    3) Related to this, to me we don't need McKenzie, we can save that 3.5 million, assuming we draft or sign a talented WR. Speedy guys who can run jet sweeps are not that hard to find.

    4) Beckham would be cool, but he might not be a process guy. Unless he's a littler humbler since his debacle in Cleveland, and wants to buy into a winning team, the way Randy Moss did in New England (Moss of course was twice as good as OBJ).

    5) I'd prioritize finding a solid second running back, a battering ram a la Darick Holmes or Antowain Smith, who can punish defenses once they're tired from chasing Motor all over the phone booth.

    6) Maybe we can carry three TEs, instead of four? Save a roster spot that way. Did we really need Knox, Smith, and Kroft and Sweeney?

  5. About the Gore run at the end of the first half: I hated the call at the time. Gave away two downs, when we could have taken two more shots at the endzone. And the coaches are getting lots of flak for it on this board.

BUT, according to the Buffalo News, it was AN AUDIBLE BY JOSH ALLEN, NOT A PRIMARY PLAY CALL:

"Late in the first half, the Bills faced first down from the Texans’ 23 with 30 seconds left. It was a three-receiver set against a light Texans’ box. Allen audibled – probably out of a pass – to a Gore run off left tackle. The Bills had the numbers at the point of attack to make the play work, behind left tackle Dion Dawkins and tight end Lee Smith, with Duke Williams cracking back. But given the audible, it looked like there was a communication mixup, and none of the three picked up safety Mike Adams, who was unblocked off the edge. If Adams gets picked up, that play breaks for good yards. Allen was forced to spike the ball, bringing the clock down to 14 seconds."

I think that's worth keeping in mind when criticizing Daboll or McDermott.

  6. Throws like the one to Thielen and then the fade for the TD are what win playoff games! Cousins seems to be maturing into a more clutch guy, like a lot of QBs do--Russell Wilson, for example.

I actually think Josh will be capable of this kind of stuff sooner rather than later, especially if he has a Thielen-level receiver--he put a number of throws on the money against the Texans, but it just didn't go our way. In two years, he should be a serious force, and in five, at age 28-29, even better.
