  1. Confession: I've side-kicked (umm, commonly known as "smashed through") 3 TVs over the years.

Set-up: based in CA for 25+ yrs, but mostly was overseas. So actually getting to watch a BB game was a precious--and emotional--commodity.

Events: (1) Post-4th SB loss, after returning from a month "up north". Watching at a secret squirrel location in Bahrain, so at least it was a US government tv.

    (2) MC Miracle, but I had enough control to wait until the review confirmation...

and it was in my own home.

    (3) Circa 2012(?), first day back from an Iraq deployment--"evolutions" in our parlance. Early in a very Bill-sy blowout with me yelling "I came back for this s**t!" Unfortunately, it was my gf's tv. She was not, let's say, exactly supportive.

My defense: never stupid enough to actually punch the target.

Summary: Forgive me board, for I have sinned. And, ya know, "Hello therapy."

  2. Thanks MR8: agree or disagree, I really/really appreciate these types of well researched, insightful posts. They provide the essential framework for informed discussion on this board.

As w others, I'm not yet convinced--but could be swayed--re Ngakoue at the $20m price point. Issues: biggest numbers came v poor pass pro teams; (possible) problem of contain, a huge DL problem this year IMO and...

According to the BS being thrown over the interwebs and the football media (BIRM), there are several other viable suitors, along w Jax. Bidding war north of 20?? Not sure.

But I'm just being pedantic. Solid, solid work.

The technique Ford is using appears to be to first ensure no inside pressure and he is a bit slow to get outside, but my guess is they have told him - if you are going to get beat, get beat out there and widen as much as possible.

    Spot on, in my view.

Just look at Ford's body angle pre-snap (shoulders/feet), as compared to DD... he's damn near 45 degrees to the line of scrimmage.

  4. Garz: if comment directed to me, then we're in violent agreement. Hit was late. Refs gave ridiculous warning instead of a flag.

But....if it wasn't in the Mic'd up, nobody would know about it, except for the 'boys bench.

My point: it's peculiar, to the extreme, that now we all know about it, and purposefully so (cuz it made the final edit).

In my line of work, I learned that coincidences are rare.

  5. Seems to me we're missing a broader point re the "ref warning/slides late" video bite.

That is, it's very strange it was included at all!!

It's a weird beat w/n the narrative flow of the Mic'd up segment, and it provides no real insight into the Cowboy or Bills game play.

It does, however, shine a rather glaring spotlight on one aspect of the game: crap officiating.

    So, bottom line: cui bono?

I've no answers my friends, only questions and more questions.

I’m not sure that’s an attempted pump fake because he doesn’t need the CB to bite on the fake and Foster already has his guy beat.  That’s a prime example of Allen hesitating for a split second.  If he releases at the initial pump, there’s a good chance for a long gain.

Definitely a pump fake: not for the CB but for the underneath S (or nickel) to bite on a IR out. Maybe wrong, but just my $.02.

  7. First post, so forgive my rough analogy:

Spent the last 20 years as an interrogator overseas, among other "activities". Bad dudes, mostly. Also, I've been through SERE, denied area training, etc.As such, I have a good read on people.

When I see SD, I immediately think "weak subject", in his eyes and body language. Specifically, this means I could break him, either quickly or w/o resort to other means. Translation to football: a subject to pressure.

Conversely, in JA, I really see a guy who would f**k you off, irrespective of techniques. I've had my share of this type, and they are best under pressure. Translation to football:....well, this board is aware of the data.

Anyway, so happy/blessed to be in back in WNY and to see the Bills resurgence, and to finally be able to participate in the conversation on this great forum.
