we've been hearing about CTE being the downfall of the NFL for ages. We will be hearing that gambling will be it's downfall for ages still.
Good point WEO.
A good friend of mine, Peter Landesman (shameless name-dropping) wrote and directed the CTE-related movie, Concussion.
At the time, there was quite a bit of push back from The Shield, so I asked him if he thought his film would fundamentally change things.
His reply, paraphrasing, "not a fu*king chance".

Kurt Schulz. Married a HS friend of mine, so I got to know him fairly well through the years.
Extremely good guy, and has had a successful, post-NFL career advising players financially.
Anyway, as you know, he is/was not a big dude.
But, holy crap: I've played pickup basketball and hockey w him, and one cannot imagine the difference b/n us normies and truly gifted athletes. The guy is incredible, even into his early 50s (he's now left WNY).

Again just popping in quickly: some solid arguments made on both "sides". I'm impressed w PPP which, well, sometimes doesn't have the best rep, lol!
@ComradeKayAdams we may have different perspectives on domestic or geopolitical issues, but I "liked" you bc you present (fr what I've seen) reasoned, sober thinking. Seriously, I respect that.
But...I will briefly take issue with your statement:
“Imminent” = on the order of days or weeks or months, not a year or longer. There has been ZERO evidence suggesting the danger was imminent.
Perhaps some folks here have/had what is called CNWDI or Q clearance. If so, they might understand my gentle suggestion:
When one looks syncretically re the corpus of current and historical evidence (open or otherwise) of the IR NWP--or even data of other nuclear powers--there is most assuredly an "imminent path" from A to B.
What one does with that understanding is another matter entirely. I'm not trying to be overly opaque...but it's what I can offer here.

Quick comment, as normally I read entire threads before I weigh in (I don't have the chance right now).
Just general atmospheric statement, based on experience: many, many, many things go bump in the night.
So, I suspect we publicly know a tiny slice of ground-truth, and the related operations.
This would include not only precise BDA, but also (potential) follow-on ops, across any spectrum one might imagine.
I'll eschew any political comment. Out here, DSK

Well usually these guys end up with former coaches because of the familiarity and the amount of risk involved.
So
His DC's in GB were
Mike Pettiine - Currently the Assistant Head Coach/OLB Coach in Minnesota
Joe Barry - Currently the Linebackers coach and run game coordinator in Miami
Secondary coaches in GB
Jason Simmons - Currently the defensive pass game coordinator in Washington
Jerry Gray - Currently the Assistant Head Coach/Defense in Atlanta
Joe Whitt Jr. - Currently the Defensive Coordinator in Washington.
Very interesting analytic framework. Well done, sir.

Dear sweet baby Jesus,
Please don't let this guy pull a hammy in, say, late November. Is that too much to ask?
Sincerely, (most) Bills fans

I honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. But also in my thoughts are the ones left behind.
In my time in the service I am grateful to have never lost a battle buddy. But at the Veterans clinic, I know many who have lost buddy's and they take Memorial Day really hard. It isn't BBQs and picnics for them. Their lives are full of Survivor's Guilt and second guessing. My thoughts are always with them on Memorial Day.
I also remember the families and loved ones left behind. They had a loved one ripped away from them, usually in a violent manner. Their heart may heal but it will always bear scars.
Very well said boater, good on 'ya. I fear too many of us live with Survivor's Guilt. It's punishing.

The Sullivan Ballou Letter from Ken Burns' Civil War:
Thank you my friend: I am very familiar with this letter, as are many I've known in the field. If there's a more eloquent description of service and sacrifice, I do not know about it.

Sherpa, above, reminds me of a thought:
If you've lost someone to battle--or, ultimately, to the Ravages once the guns are silent--feel free to leave their names here, to be etched in TBD granite.
For me, too damn many, so I'll just note:
COL McCarthy, 5th Grp
SGM Lamantia, 5th Grp
Moses (callsign)
CAPT Pollard, 5th Grp
MSG Rendina, 107th
Bama (callsign)
Mikey (callsign)

My father's brother, who would have been my uncle, was killed in WWII. The sickening thing about it that he killed on the day that the Germans recorded a video of seriously damaged Hitler addressing the remaining Hitler Youth. His final video, just before the end of the war.
The Germans my uncle was fighting just west of Florence in Italy had already been surrendered the day before, but work hadn't gotten to the front lines until the next day.
We lost an A6 at sea in the Indian Ocean. Freakish mishap. I had just launched off cat 2, and in between us, an F-14 off cat 1.
The A6 was on cat 4 and got to about 100 knots when the cat lost all pressure. They ejected just off the bow. The BN went right under the Kitty Hawk and was never seen. The pilot, Bruce Williams, the CO of the A6 squadron went down the left side of the ship and flashed a thumbs up in the water, but couldn't get the parachute off. The rescue helo arrived immediately and a swimmer went in. Turns out Williams was about 10' underwater and the swimmer got to him and got his arm under his shoulder straps. Helo started the hoist. He died on the helo and the swimmer separated his shoulder on the way up Just horrible.
Deepest condolences for your would-be Uncle, and to Bruce Williams (I assume CMDR or above, I don't speak Navy). And thank you for your service...no kidding.

Amidst the beer, BBQ, and good holiday humor, today should also be one of somber reflection, if even briefly.
For, this day, we humbly honor The Fallen: those who have given their lives--in battle and beyond--to this nation.
Their deaths echo across lost futures, devastated families, loved ones, and friends, eternally mournful.
But now they're just weathered dog tags, hard tears, and faded flowers, laid across wistful graves.
So I'll paraphrase Lincoln and suggest it must be we, the living, who solemnly pay tribute to their service and sacrifice, or, I fear, they will just drift from our memory.
Therefore I ask, most respectively: please take a few moments this day, bow your heads, and pray for our lost brothers-and-sisters-in-arms, and those bereaved.

Fair enough Promo, you are a gentleman and a scholar, good sir (not sarc).
So, now, can we please move on to eating technique? Every WNY-er knows the Art of "One-Handed-Pushdown-One-Bite-Clean-Bone".
Oh, but they will learn these young Padawan, they will learn.

Also worth noting that NFL players have and allowable amount of trenbolone in their system. LoL.
Interesting Mango. As I know you're aware, Tren is popular in the "community" (note: I've never used it or any gear).
But, to your comment: is/are there allowable trace amounts, or were you just kidding? I'm aware that it's a long cycle (40 or so days) so it would be dangerous to use vis a vis getting popped on a test.

Dearest Terry, please bring Bills TC back to Niagara University, as it is now 3 min from my house. Your biggest fan, DSK
(Hoping this will sway the organization, as I'm sure they monitor TBD)

I have had your exact profile at different ages, 5% or less and 12-14% BF. When I was 200 with sub 5% body fat I was totally shredded. If I added another 25 pounds to that frame which is his equivalent at 6'4 240 I would have been barely able to move my arms. He's 220 or less for sure.
Since everyone is throwing their weight around: I'm 5'8, lean, low center of gravity 182.** Many, many years of training.
Basically, I resemble a 'roided out Attack Hamster.
To the point: pictures are deceptive, but...yikes, dude ain't looking Beane yoked.

Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault

Bills, other teams, the League itself: all employ ex-cops to conduct these investigations.
Reading the actual filed complaint, experienced investigators would be well aware of, and check, the absolute "knowables":
(1) if an immediate report was filed w "local law enforcement" (language in complaint)
(2) if a SANE test was indeed conducted
Naturally, there are other material facts that can be discovered with relatively minimal digging. Snapchat is another matter entirely, unless local LEO, at time of alleged incident report, had access to, and then preserved, that information.
