It’s certainly risky. You’d have to be confident in the player and the person. If he walks you’d get a comp pick the following year I think. If there are multiple teams involved you’ll have to pay the price. I honestly think there are going to be better options than what we are bringing to the table (ie Tunsil). With that being said, supposedly, Gaine wanted an extension and O’Brien didn’t. I’d think that the Bills would have a lot of trust from Clowney and his people.

Tunsil is a starting LT and a pretty good one. if the dolphins know they are gonna tank for a qb would they give up a young stud LT? The texans have no leverage he won't play for them under the tag so the offers they are getting, are probably not much better then zay shady and a pick

Why hasn’t this thread died yet?

The Bills aren’t going to give the Texans valuable draft capital AND pay Clowney over 20 mill a year.

    Ain’t happening.

Hope. this is what teams do when you have a qb on a rookie deal you load up talent you spend in free agency you stack the roster for a multi year run .and if its a 3rd you dont find many players like clowney in round 3

when the dust settles... from last years QB draft here is how I see them ranking:

    1) Josh Allen - wins a super bowl and makes the Bills relevant during the post Tom Brady era

    2) Sam Darnold - the other side of above, never wins a super bowl but gets the MVP one year

    3) Baker Mayfield - great for fantasy football and marketing but never makes the jump as a true winner

    4) Mason Rudolph - takes over for Big Ben for a few years

    5) Lamar Jackson - RG3 type career

    6) Mike White - gets a shot post Dak

    7) Josh Rosen - bounces from team to team as a stop gap QB before they draft the next big name

Haha Josh Rosen he is getting mentored by Fitz now . Fitz: alright josh you want to be steady flash sometimes then come back down to earth. Rosen: So thats how you stayed in the league so long. Fitz: Damn right plus i went to Harvard

    No way.

Mario was a huge disappointment, who basically coasted through his final few seasons.

    I couldn't stand that guy.

3 years of 10+ sacks lead team in qb pressures tackles for loss and good against the run. Yes he quit on rex ryan.who drops your best rusher in coverage basically the whole game? Rex does. If he coasted for us .damn good coast Mario

I wish! I think the Texans would certainly be interested in Dawkins, but he's off the table for me. I don't think Nsekhe has any trade value.

The rumors of the Texans wanting a WR seem.....off.

I don't think they seem off .Fuller is always hurt and they want a number 2 to hopkins the LT market they will be getting a backup from teams not a starter. That why i think they are leaning in a different direction

The problem with wanting a LT is that no team is trading their starting LT (except maybe the Skins, but they reportedly want a 1st). So they would be getting a backup level OT - is that good enough?

I agree no one is trading a starting LT i don't believe the 1st will happen. Thats why i say we could be mix with trading zay or shaq off they could still have potential and there would be a pick i say highest we go might be a 3rd but thats if beane thinks he is worth it

They took Will Fuller in the 1st rd a few years ago and he’s been good at times but has had a hard time staying healthy. As far as draft disappointments, he falls in that category for them.

Yes he does. but health major issue and Zay has been pretty healthly. Michael Lombardi says houston wants a WR but John Mcclain says LT. What do you think the texans are getting for offers

While those things do happen from time to time, I don’t believe Lawson or Jones fall into that category. They were simply overdrafted for their talent level. I’d agree it would take a draft pick for the Bills to do a trade ( short of Dawkins) , I don’t think Jones or Lawson have any trade value.

But im putting the situation in context. I dont think the texans have much leverage so i dont expect a huge offer from anyone. Zay could be a decent number two. Here he was shoved into number 1 receiver role with no help to mature and grow and learn. would be a intermediate receiver to help hopkins. As for shaq last year on rookie deal and we know some players ball out on would be a driving point. What offers do you the texans will get for clowney?

Sure. HOU very interested in Bills disappointing draft picks, especially in return for Clowney. I mean, why wouldn’t they ? This makes too much sense not to happen.

Young players who may have been drafted to the wrong system. That may just need a change of scenery to succeed cause trades like that never happen? Still believe a pick would have to be used to get the trade done
