Well I can do math, but I forgot to slide the decimal point 2 spots over when converting to percentage. You are correct on the .02%. Based on current numbers COVID-19 is still 200 times more deadly if you catch it.

When H1N1 was last an issue in 2009, the reported case fatality rate was 2 - 2.9% (search the news stories of the day, or academic papers), it was only after they did the antibody tests was it revised to .02%.

Apply that to today, the 4% rate is a case fatality rate, in the aftermath when they do the antibody tests that will fall drastically. I am not saying it will be the exact same ratio and covid will go to .04%, I am just saying case fatality rate can be very misleading. Just look around the globe and current reported case fatality rates range from .15 to 20%, that is not what I would call a focused range, seems about as accurate as Mitch Trubisky trying to hit a running back in the flat.....

  2. We are operating on so little real data that all of these predictions are just uniformed guesses.

Lets put it in term this board can understand, it is like your average sports writing giving an opinion on Josh Allen's 2019 performance after not watching a single Bills game last year. Said writer will just regurgitate some narrative they had heard and pass it along as fact. That is what we are seeing even from these experts because no one has enough real data yet.

We need to have two things to understand where we are today:

    1) Test a random portion of the population of various cities to see if they currently have the coronavirus.

    2) Test a random portion of the population of various cities to see if they have had the cornonavirus (antibody test).

  3. I think the 17 game season could solve a key goal of the NFL, expansion into new markets. Each team will have to play one neutral site game like London or Mexico City, but throw in Berlin, Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, Toronto (eek), and I am sure a few others. And if there are not enough foreign cities how about regional games at college stadiums. Now based on the press release I have no idea if the neutral site game would be the plan, but it is sort of the only way an odd number of games works.

My youngest is 30. So no. Do you guys remember the Charles. Barkley nike commercials from the early 90s. His first line was " I am not a role model"

Sir Charles may have not been a role model, but I think his worst crime was his golf swing. Very different from the things AB has done, and will continue to do.

Whenever I watch the Patriots play I feel like I’m watching the WWE Raw. I know everything is scripted and the outcome is always the same. The timing on all the flags that the Patriots get are really worth looking into. They are always thrown against the other teams big plays or on a Patriots 3rd down where they don’t convert it. I don’t have the time to go through them all but I would pay money to see a statistical chart from 2008 to present.

It isn't just you, it is statistically proven, have a look at a very interesting breakdown of penalties in close games (8 points or less going into the 4th), and all other games. When games are close you can count on the refs tilting the game. Things like this just shoot a hole in the "Patriots are just more disciplined argument" because the discipline wouldn't only show up in close games.

Stat New England vs. Opponents NFL Rank in the Split
Penalties in Other Games 2% more 20
Penalty Yards in Other Games 2% more 22
Penalties in Close Games 24% less 1
Penalty Yards in Close Games 21% less 1

Yep. This is a Browns style tank ... all the way down to (possibly) 0-16, not this year, but next year. They're accumulating tons of draft capital - I think it's now 7 picks in the first two rounds? They can pull off whatever trade they want to to get their guy, and I suspect that Rosen will be their Deshon Kizer bridge sacrificial lamb, with maybe Lawrence on the radar for 2021.

If this is a browns style tank we should expect the Dolphins to be good in 2029 - 2030 ish (and that is assuming they are good this year, and the jury is still out on that)?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that you must be a former Bills fan who was enamored with Mahomes, got upset when the Bills didn't draft him, became a Chief's fan when they drafted him, and love to come back here to remind us that the Bills could have had him...

I could be wrong; but, I doubt you would be here posting if Mahomes was an awful QB...

I think that would be a good theory, but Zerovolts posts on a few other forums (just with that one user name, who knows how many others). So unless he is also tied to the UK, the Broncos, the Jets, and the Bears, it is just safe to assume he is a common internet troll.

The sites I found with a quick google search (and yes Mahomes is mentioned in nearly all the posts)

    - jetsnation.com

    - nfluk.com

    - orangemane.com (Broncos)

    - chicitysports.com
