Still will be tough because the AFC has improved. However, I believe the Bills have the best QB in the league. The sour taste in their mouths has to linger and the team such be even more hungry. Only injuries can prevent the Bills from dominating. I believe Coach McD has learned from last year's collapse.

They are drafting again for the present and future and to cover for McDermott again.

We got the depth now on the Oline! Only injuries can prevent the Bills from winning it all. Clearly, have the best roster in the league with very little holes. Stay healthy and things look fantastic. Can't wait for the season.

He will. The Bills new Oline coach is excellent!

    Kind of kidding...you never know!

Apparently the Pats were considering this guy in the first round

They heard Mcvay laughing so they backed out!

Wait a minute....so round 1 an athletic corner, with man/zone press skills and recovery speed.

Then now this is round 3, an instinctive cover LB who can lock up on TEs.

Seems like we are trying to fix something that must have been a glaring weakness against KC.

Not sure why so many feel the need to say "I had so and so as a 6th rounder", or what value is he going to bring.  Hello, Beane and staff know what they're doing, and have a plan to keep adding the necessary pieces to put us over the top.

I'm sure if you go back and rematch thr KC game, our lack of speed on defense will stand out in more than 1 occasion.  We needed to fix that, and our physicality at the DT spots...check and check

The lack of speed was evident in the AFCC game a year earlier. The Bills spent the entire game seconds behind chasing the Chiefs all over the field!

I agree. McBeane didn't take this guy without having a vision for him.  He's a playmaker, and McDermott will find ways for him to make plays.

Another great example of how a player evolves and how he is found. Someone mentioned that Beane is friends with Baylor coach Dave Aranda. How sometimes a missing piece may be under the radar.

Now that the dust has settled, I think this is an absolutely great pick given the context. The “tackling issues” Are not a big deal. Elam is more than a willing tackler and his film shows that. In fact, the guy is pure alpha! I think his tackling will be coached up easily. His speed and coverage ability rival any CB in the draft based on my reading. I don’t mind the trade up. Beane did what he had to do to guarantee Elam would be there. Well done Beane!

Some of the pundits have already said that Elam may have been the first CB taken in other drafts. Lets give this time. I am anxious to see how Stingley and Sauce Gardner perform. Its a bunch of bs hype.

If there's any position they know, it's CB.  They get the BOTD here.  As for scrambling, that's what the Chefs did and considering Elam was the last CB on their board with a 1st round grade, it made sense to trade up to ensure they got him.

Elam was a great pick. There really was no other choice. The backfield was becoming dangerously exposed.
