  1. Yes! I remember these. There's photos of Bruce Smith on those Colors; but yea, it was only for a couple years.
  2. He stays. What he did on the field, the records he set, was all in the 1970s. What happened later in the 1990s has NOTHING to do with any of that.
  3. Oh Murphy does totally love the Bills. He's great that way. His voice has been on Bills Broadcasts since I was a kid (I'm 50 now). But when you hear him it just sounds like some guy who lives down the street; not a gifted speaker; boring voice quality that doesn't lift the listening experience anywhere the way Miller did. Not his fault.
  4. Van Miller described the moment. It's Radio; and he was in the day when home games weren't televised if not sold out. He had a great, higher pitched, raspy voice. Similar in that respect to Rick Jeanerette. Murphy was Miller's partner and did a good job commenting....but I never liked Murphy's play by play - his voice is too stacatto deep. Before Van Miller there was a guy named Stan Baron who also had a raspy higher pitch voice - for me that's the sound you want; you want it to feel like it's being told to you by a wise old man.....
  5. The '90s era Red Helmets and Blue shirts are still the best to me!
  6. It would be cool to have Fitz come back here, be the back up and mentor Josh and finish his career here. He said recently that when he pictures himself as a football player, it's in a Bills Uniform.....
  7. I went to the Bills game in London a few years ago and the atmoshpere was terrible. It was just a bunch of people cheering for "American Football- Horay!!". You saw people wearing jerseys from lots of other teams; just there for fun; Very little passion from the crowd. My friend and I were the only people I could see who were actually into the game. And it was a close game! It was EJ Manuel's meltdown; we got way behind. Came back to take the lead, only to lose it on a VERY suspicious PI flag that became the Jaguars the winning points..
  8. Yea, it's amazing really, to think we're finally slowly becoming a team that's in the conversation. Since the 90s teams I've just wanted us to be "in there". Like Pittsburgh always seems to be. We're setting up the pieces for sure, similar to the late 80s. If we'd won that Pats game last week I think everyone would be more excited; Does it feel like we're sort of in limbo this final week, - with nothing really mattering in terms what happens with Jets game? How much do you play the starters? And too bad JJ Watt is now able to play. Would you rather play at Texans or Chiefs?
  9. I was in Barcelona, doing a semester abroad, watching the game in a living room at a house party with a bunch of people that didn't really care about it. They couldn't understand why I was so nervous, nor so upset afterwards. Sigh....
  10. Why do we suddenly look like a bunch of 7th graders in this game? ???? Psychological
  11. I can't find the actual video clip from Good Morning football where Nate says this. Anyone have a link?
  12. I remember watching the Detroit game 25 years ago in a back bedroom of the house full of people that didn't care about football. We were still really good back then and i had thought you only get to play a Thanksgiving game if you're a marquee team. Which we were then. But we're not now. And we were even less so when this game was scheduled. So how do they determine who plays against Detroit or Dallas?
  13. I can't help but think if we'd have kept Fitz all these years we'd basically be in the exact same spot. think a huge problem with Allen is that they're over-coaching him. Last year he was raw, but he had a fire and fearlessness that seems gone now. Yes there's a risk of getting hurt on the runs he used to do, but he also ran with much more bravado last year. This year his runs feel timid; he's worried all the time. Over-coached. They let Lamar Jackson just be himself and when you have that confidence good things happen. Allen's confidence is all gone. Hence the overthrowing EVERY long bomb. Worried about INT. Let the kid run wild. Screw it. Because the over-coaching isn't working.
  14. I'd love to go back to the red helmet 1990s uniforms.
  15. OK, I've been perusing this great website for about a dozen years now, but never created an account, until now. Born in raised in Buffalo, live overseas now, but still watch every game online with my son. I'm 48 and lived through the horrible early/mid '80s, then all the great 90s Super Bowl years. It seems to me a lot of people on this site are a good bit younge than me; some in their early 20s? It's crazy that this age group has NO concept of the time when the Patriots sucked. They did make it into a superbowl once in the 80s but got KILLED by the big bad Bears. But Mostly they sucked. For about 10 years during out run of glory in late 80s/90s we beat them all the time. They were an easy win and we were the mighty Buffalo Bills. We were feared. Watch a replay of the Bills 1990 AFC championship game against the Raiders. To see people posting here who have NEVER known a time when the Patriots weren't always winning the AFC and in every Conf Championship game ALL the time ... is so sad to me. What makes it worse is that they have become this "dynasty" by way of being sneaky, steroid using, coniving, cheating manipulators of the game of football whom referees routinely give calls to on crucial 3rd downs in order to influence games. The phantom roughing the passer flag in the Chiefs AFC championship game this year is the perfect example. It's all so disheartening to think that some people actually think this team has been able to "win" so consisently on an even playing field......
