  1.

Some 4th rounders turn into all-pros, and some into also-rans. It's a crap shoot. Not a huge price to pay for what looked like a promising (and cheap) young RB. Didn't work out, oh well. Funny how worked up folks were over Whaley holding onto "his guy" though.

Some 1st rounders turn all-pro and some are third stringers.

  2. According to NFL.com, they both got credit for the start. I wonder if they're doing this as a way to appease Cassel? I sure hope not.

Why not? If it gets him some of his cash back and they push the cap hit to next year, then it shows the team cares about the players. This type of word gets around and will get other players to look well on the Bills. unlike the FJ thing.

  3. No but your trolling is

So your defense is anyone who thinks EJ shouldn't be starting is trolling. But you're hatred of cassel and TT and utter thought that only EJ is HOF worthy should be considered?

    Troll alert.

There are some real gems in there. My favorite:

This is an excellent example of how stats belie what's actually happening on the field. People never even saw him play for the Jets, but they heard he tallied 6 sacks, and proceeded to freak out. I saw those sacks. They were all the product of scheming and/or coverage, and any warm-bodied 2nd string LB could have done the same.

Don't have time to look. But who said that?

  4.

Gone...in favor of who? And if you think EJ hasn't shown anything because it's pre-season there's no logical way you can say that TT has shown you some things...in pre-season.

I have said EJ looks better and improved, but still a D student. TT has shown me more.

Who would we get? I don't know, I'm not a GM, but I suspect that we could find someone closer in style to TT as a backup. I think having two statues as his backup, and one who can't throw more than 20 yards down field, with the other who can only read one side of the field and only the first read isn't going to get you far.

  5. The one he's talking about was to his left.

If your assumption is that EJ is done improving, well, you're making as ass of u and mption. And I seriously hope you're not a Cassel fan if you're ragging on EJ's passing abilities. Cassel is a career 59% and 6.6 YPA passer with 101 TDs and 89 turnovers.

Why do you assume I am a Cassel fanatic? You'd be wrong. Personally, I thought both would be gone before the season. I think both are poor QB's and both if playing means we are probably out of the playoffs. I am worried about TT, but he's shown some things the other two haven't and if he continues to grow and brings half of what Flacco had, then we are set.

  6. Great move by Whaley. We brought him back at $900,000 and played the hand well. Good for him. Just hope the extra $7 mil (Fredex) will land us Dareus at a price we can handle.

If TT plays aweseome, we could save on a QB for three years and have an amazing defense.

Actually it came out today. It is 2 million + 2.15 million in incentives so he can get his whole base salary back.

  7. The definition of improve is to make or become better. Better is a derivative of good. Improved is the past participle.

Yes, improve does mean to get better. It doesn't mean and never has meant good. If a kid is failing school, and improves to a D- means he's improved. Doesn't mean I want him building airplanes that I am flying on.

  8. Um, the throw he made to Chris Gragg was to his left side and "dropped in a coin slot". The TD pass to Charles Clay was right down the middle. Lee did say he was inaccurate to those areas BEFORE he got there, but with proper footwork he improved.

    Improved, doesn't mean good.

That's like little Jimmy has gotten better at not licking the school bus windows. He only does it 50 times on way to school instead of the hundred he used to. When Jimmy stops licking the windows then we can say he is good, but for now he has improved.

  9. I hate that Cassel will be the 2. EJ gets screwed

Because why? He throws a nice deep ball? Did you see the interview with Coach Lee. Basically said EJ couldn't throw accurately to the middle and left side of field. Makes him easy to defend when you roll the safety to his right all day. Something teams don't scheme for in preseason. When teams have time to prep against a QB they will plan for and take away what a QB does well and make him beat you on stuff he doesn't. So EJ showed in preseason he can throw the long ball. How many sustained drives did he have where he had to use the whole field. Maybe the coaches know more than we do? If he showed so great and should be a starter where are the #1 draft pick trades from other teams? He's got 2 more years plus an option year. If he was playing so great, other teams would look at that and at least offer a 2nd as that is basically the length of a 2nd round picks contract.

  10. Wait, don't you think that is a little overboard? One Ribbon Creek incident is enough...

I was just hoping they can take out their aggression on the Taliban.

Not to be outdone, University of Miami is looking to out bid FSU.

They don't want to deal with the swamp, they shouldn't try to be stuck in the Marines. You also don't want these unstable young adults and their crappy attitude learning how to kill more efficiently do you? No, they need to be locked up. Or maybe put in the Army Corps of Engineers. Marines don't accept those kind.

  11. I read and understood that. My point is that Whaley is sitting with Rex and Roman discussing the QBs and he says I'm considering releasing Matt and going with just EJ so we can try to lock up Dareus and Bradham. We have about a 50/50 chance of getting Matt back after he clears waivers.

Rex and Roman, to me, have one of three basic responses:

1] I'm cool with that overall, EJ can handle the #2 duties.

2] I'd prefer to keep Matt but I think EJ can handle it and if it came down to trying to improve our roster I won't fight you on it.

3] I really think this is risky. We need the vet here if TT goes down and the difference between Matt and EJ is measurable.

I would bet anything it was either one or two for both Rex and Roman and not three, otherwise Whaley would have acqueisced and said okay, if you feel strongly we won't risk losing him.

Or Whaley went rogue again. Rex and coaches threatened him and they signed Cassel back. Whaley turns out to look good in this saving the money, and coaches got the guy they wanted back.
