What does he say about Allen?

It sounds like when asked about Allen, he first says "he's a baller."   Then I think he says "he's a dog."

Yes shaw you're correct thats exactly what he says about Josh.

Being called a "dog" means he scraps for everything in games ... That he puts up a fight every play. Even better analogy is what you get trying to take food from a dog. Seeing this is how players feed there families. Its a big compliment from players.

I'm not so sure about this.  I think Poyer will be retained; him and Micah Hyde are among the best safety tandem in the league, and are the quarterbacks of the defense.  That is not something that McD would want to break up.  If anything, I think a CB is expendable.

You might be right. Im just going on a hunch from seeing J. Johnson make plays in his limited preseason debut. That along with the fact you cant pay everyone top dollar for their production.

And that McBeane is following New England's cap strategy having the two top paid safetys in football doesnt seem very economical. And Hyde is the better player and more important of the two.

  3. I agree when buffalo wins sunday the narrative will be how far the Eagles have fallen. Not how the bills are a legit playoff contender.

Also the media uses Josh Allen's career completion percentage instead of this season's stats marking him around 56%.

There is definitely a biased against the bills and Josh Allen not that i care much about it.

But i will say this the NFL imho is propping up Josh Allen as one of its future stars. Just look at the roughing calls he gets they are usually very ticky tack.

He gets calls to go his way that Fitzpatrick and other middling QBs will never get.

No they don't. They already extended Hughes and Hauschka.  Poyer and Hyde are under contract.

They have basically said they arent bringing Shaq back with how he is being used. Nsekhe and Feliciano signed two year deals.

That leaves Spain and nobody else.

I for one think Poyer is not going to be resigned. With the flashes that J. Johnson showed during preseason he will be groomed to take Poyers spot.

Im not saying Poyer isnt good but i dont see him as a game changer.

He is a free agent next year. You lock him up for a few years and the Bills will contend for a Super Bowl for years to come.

I personally would rather go after Von Miller(doubtful he is on the trading block). And make a strength even stronger.

Our offense is a work in progress and is more than efficient enough to win against any team. We moved the ball against the pats well enough. Minus the turnovers we wouldve scored enough to win that game.

On track for what? To be a playoff team or to win a Super Bowl. They are a player away from contending for the entire thing. Without a move to get an AJ Green they are going one and done in the playoffs.  The time is NOW.  Make a move.

I hope we dont make a move for AJ Green... Sending future picks for said player will not ensure a SB victory this season or next.

Keep with the process and build through the draft with low risk trades and unheralded free agent signings.

    5             16             3         13           54.8                         1                                    2

So the guy with the highest completion % has a losing record so far...

QB 2 was considered the worst 'throwing' QB of the draft but has the second highest completion percentage of the Big 5 in 2018.

QBs not numbered 4 have a total of 6 4th quarter comebacks, and 8 game winning drives.

QB 4 has the second worst completion percentage, but has 5 4th quarter comebacks and 7 Game Winning Drives.

Some may say that guy is clutch.

That QB is of course Josh Allen.

    QB 1 =  Baker Mayfield

    QB 2 = Lamar Jackson

    QB 3 = Sam Darnold

    QB 4 = Josh Allen

    QB 5 = Josh Rosen

If you were down 10 with the 4th quarter to go who would you want to be the QB of your team?

Waaaayyy back after Josh Allen was drafted I looked for a QB, any QB with his college metrics, moxy, athleticism and IQ.

The only QB I could find was Brett Favre. I got roasted pretty hard. I still think the analysis holds true.

Based on college metrics and success Brett Favre was a once in 20 year QB and JA has higher scores in Wonderlic, 40 time etc.

Both of them are gamers, unafraid to make any throw, can get away from trouble, and not daunted being down 2 scores.

They also both made/ will make head scratching terrible throws.

We all remember Brett Favre the HOF and Super Bowl winner. We forget the awful picks and bad games.

That is because despite bad halves, bad picks, or bad games Favre always bounced back. JA is showing the same.

Look at last week, 1st half for JA was a disaster, second half was what 10-11 120 yds 2 TD and 0 turnovers?

JA just gets into a zone at times, and it's great to watch. The rest of the NFL is slow to acknowledge it, but don't let

JA get into a zone. He has done it in multiple games. Funk, funk, funk, EXPLOSION, funk.

We have yet to see a complete game. it is coming. Brees took years to develop, Manning took years to develop, Favre took years to develop.

I love this QB. He hates to lose, he will try any throw, and can get out of trouble if needed.

There will be 'bad Josh' even 10 years from now.

But 'good Josh' is spectacular, and is clutch. 70% of his wins are game winning drives.

Keep a good D around this guy and Buffalo will be in every game he starts for his career.

And yes I still think they should get RB help before the deadline.

People seem to forget Tom Brady was a game manager to begin his career. Lots of wr bubble screens and dink and dunk punt then play defense.

He grew into Tom Terrific after about 4-5 years of starting.

Just be patient with Josh Allen. Let him grow into that franchise QB we all want. Its coming.

  8. I agree ... Ive played sports and watched way more than i played Moochie Norris for the Houston Rockets couldn't shoot well inside the free throw line. But if the shot clock or game clock was running down he was money from inside or beyond the three point line.

Point is some players just perform better in crunch time for whatever reason. Josh Allen is one of those types so far. Jim Kelly and Joe Montana were too.

I think if you're comfortable with Allen's current performances, you should be comfortable with getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs.  Allen has still got a ways to go for this team to get where all us fans want to go.

At this point just making the playoffs is a giant step for this bills team. There is very few teams that win the Superbowl(which is the main goal) in their first year of making it to the playoffs. Winning one wildcard game is not my goal either.

Everyone wants Allen to be a finished product right now when he was considered a two year project on draft day.

Allen's drive and clutch 4th quater play is way more important than lighting up the stat sheet for 3 tds and 350 yards in the first three quarters. We've had those QBs that do that and then fold in the 4th quaters. Josh Allen is still growing as a QB before our very eyes as is the entire bills team.

I for one love the resilience of this bills team.

This was Josh Allen's best game as a pro imo and i said that after the titans game also. Which means Josh is still making progress and I'll take that every game until the end of next year. Then lets judge Allen after next season.

  10. B+

I dont see why everyone thinks miami is a push over with a hungry Fitzpatrick QB'ing them.

If you watch Miami's games this year they had a terrible defensive gameplan for Baltimore and were embarrassed. But for the most part they've held their own until Rosen kept turning over the ball to the other team.

Josh Allen played a very good game today.

I definitely feel encouraged by his performance today.

I get that, when he's on he's on, but the D layed a giant egg today. They deserved the boo birds today.

I dont agree with that. This is still a NFL team that has talent. Ive even debated people before the game today saying Oklahoma sooners would beat this miami team. No any NFL team that gets good to great QB play is a threat to win any given sunday.

Heck our Oline looked horrible with Trent Edwards before we put Fitz in for us. He always gets the ball out quick because he is great at pre snap reads.

I was more encouraged our D buckled down towards the end.

I also cant ever remember Fitz throwing a bad pass i.e. double coverage. All fitz picks were either over throws or underthrows basically because of his lack of arm strength.

Not going to lie, I didn't expect the defense to be so bad today. The offense was wrongly booed today, the defense deserved those today

    It's great we're 5-1, though.

Fitzpatrick plays great when everyone counts him out. He'll scramble and dive head first for first downs. You arent going to confuse fitz with your defense and miami has pretty good wrs.

Fitz plays horrible when he starts to think he is a actual franchise QB.

I expected miami to keep it close today. Miami's defense played pretty good against dallas but rosen just gave dallas the cover and the blowout win.

That was an easy opening line to guess.

no it wont be easier than the opponent you faced today

Well i guess thats to be seen. Miami is not as bad as everyone thinks with Fitz as QB. Just like the jets are way better with darnold playing. But you sound like an philly fan so just take this future L and live with it ?.

  14. Bills will win next week against philly easier than today. Anyone that thought we'd blow out the fins was only looking at the record and final score of the miami previous games.

Fitzpatrick hadnt been playing and Rosen cant carry a suspect team atm.

Miami had been in every game except against Baltimore and they had an idiotic defensive gameplan for the ravens.

I fully expected what happened today to happen and i am encouraged by what buffalo did today.

  15. Funny thing is my brother (who is a rams fan) predicted buffalo would win the Superbowl if we drafted DK Metcalf. I definitely wish we hadn't traded up for C.Ford rather let the best player on our board continue to fall to us.

I do think Metcalf is a rare wr talent that would've paired nicely with Josh Allen. But Ford may still turn out to be a good player for buffalo.

But just the dynamics of DK's speed and catch radius would be absurd with Allen's arm strength. Mind you DK is having a good year so far as a rookie.

Time will tell... Hopefully we didn't pass up on the next Randy Moss type wr.

  16. I picked hyde but he is still a very raw player thats developing before our eyes with every snap he takes.

Once again I'd still rather he be more gambler than a Capt. Checkdown.

Taking points off the board from unnecessary sacks in the redzone and some turnovers are inexcusable. Which it seems he is learning the hard way.

That interception against the titans was not a terrible one imo. Yeldon who is working his way in my doghouse stopped his route as josh was throwing the ball. The safety kept running and made the pick. Plus yeldon misses way more blitz pick ups than he should (i.e. Barkley game ending pick vs the pats) plus more against the titans.
