  1. Being a GM of an NFL Franchise looks like a lot of fun but there is SO much that goes into it.  Not only are you a Coaching and Player talent evaluator but you are also one hell of an accountant, a negotiator and a draft board wizard.  I would love to be in charge of a draft but honestly the rest of it is for the birds.

  2. If they would use Hines as a pass catcher out of the backfield like he was brought to Buffalo to be, then his cap hit would be justified.  I think Singletary is probably gone.  We could replace him pretty easily I believe either through FA or the Draft.  Cooks will get his shot this coming season to see what he can do.

I was just musing on the fact some of our players have played different positions in different systems. Von Played OLB when he played on 3/4 defenses in the past.

Von Miller can play nickel safety for all I care.  Just get him on the field

  4. I have read that his contract is up.  If this is the case I bet McDermott either keeps him on but has more control of the Defense himself or he lets him go and McDermott becomes HC / DC.

The first thing McDermott did when he came to Buffalo was to sign Hyde and Poyer and draft White.  His style of defense obviously puts a lot of emphasis on safeties and corners.  I have to believe he would like them to be more aggressive.

Yes, but not with Frazier as the DC, and not with Dorsey calling games the way he did at the very end of the season. He needs a more aggressive DC, even if they run the same scheme fundamentally. I think they need to worry less about the defensive statistics and more about making opposing QBs uncomfortable and forcing TOs. If you #### up and it costs you a chunk play or a score, then ride Allen's arm to bail you out.

Frazier has to go and Dorsey needs some help.

  6. It's Dorsey or Diggs.  I am sure Beane is not happy with this getting vented out on Twitter.  However, Twitter is how diggs came to Buffalo.  It's in him to do this stuff.  The man is one the best of not the best #1 WR in the NFL he deserves the damn ball.  If he is being double teamed then you figure out how to free him up.  Kelce gets the ball, Jefferson gets the ball, Hill gets the ball, Chase the ball.

What is that first Thad Brown tweet about McKenzie?

It ends by saying "McKenzie said its the same questions everyone is asking. And he will ask."

What does that mean?  Who will ask whom about what?

    I hate twitter.

Wow.  It sounds like something is indeed rotten inside OBD.  They need to figure this out.  Damn.

Not just us... WGR personalities are echoing the same sentiments.  Openly saying that all options should be on the table this off-season.

For anyone not listening to WGR I highly recommend it. They are not happy with one bills drive this morning.

I can only speak for myself, but I am absolutely not unified with the current "throw the bums out" messages on this board. I consider today's threads to be knee-jerk temper tantrums that do not provides quality thought or interesting reading. With that, my presence and participation will be significantly scaled back for about a week, hoping the outrage will cool.

So you are happy with running everything back next year?  Same everything just a few different players?

  10. We have a defensive minded head coach who's defense can't stop anything.  What I don't know is how much Control Frazier has.  Is the D his baby or does McDermott have Frazier run his system?  I think revamping OL and a new D Coordinator that can run their own system is what is needed.  I really liked this team and I hate that it ended this way.

  11. I don't post on here that often but I definitely lurk and read a lot.  I think we can all agree that it's rare to see such unity when it comes to a certain opinion.  Normally after the season ends you always get a thread or 2 about firing this coach or that coach or trading this player or that player.  What's unusual is it normally stops or you see rebuttal posts.  Yes it hasn't been 24 hrs yet but the majority of us realize something needs to change.  Is it the GM, the head coach, the Coordinators, position coach's or players?  Lots of opinions but we all seem to agree that major shakeup needs to happen.  We finally have Josh Allen here in Buffalo and we can't keep doing this.  If Beane truly wants to win a Super Bowl then EVERYTHING is on the table this morning.  Good job TBD and I hope we can keep their feet to the fire.

At this point, I don't care what the fix is...just fix it. I will say I think Beane has Drafted good players, but McDermott is reluctant to put them in...Shakir is a good WR and he's had flashes, but he needed time on the field to really show it. I think it's right not to re-sign Poyer, I didn't agree with the Hyde extension, and the Offensive Line needs the majority of attention, but Elam not playing while Dane was getting cooked is on McDermott. McKenzie the fumble-drops machine playing over Shakir is on McDermott. The really crappy Offensive play-calling in critical situations is on Dorsey and his continued lack of performance without accountability is on McDermott.

I've been a McDermott fan since his arrival and he was the perfect coach for what happened with Hamlin, but really I question his decisions over the last two years in regards to how he adapts. I think we've seen the influence Daboll had on the Offense and Josh and rightfully, I think McDermott gave Daboll total control over the Offense. But, it was his job to find the right Coordinator for the job and while I appreciate Josh's in-put, it's not Josh's job that's on the line - it's McDermott's if the Offense failed. And it did. Too often in critical moments.

So, fire whomever - I would keep Beane for the aforementioned reasons - but it's time for change.

Yeah, I really trust Beane.  I tore us down when he first got here and quickly built a really good team for 2020 season.  The last 2 years has been filling in holes and hoping the others improve.  Didn't happen.

  13. 13 seconds.  That right there should have been the eye opener.  Something is rotten within the coaching ranks.  They made 3 horrible decisions in those 13 seconds.  They didn't kick the ball short, then they sat back and allowed the chiefs receivers to pickup an easy 20 yard play.  Then, they did it again.  Who made those decisions?  Was it all McDermott or was it all Frazier or possibly both?  Now both lines look like my high school team could move them around.  Nah man, it's time for some new blood.  Maybe it's just Frazier out but everything is on the table.

I'm torn.  Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott should be commended for lifting this franchise out of the gutter, and making it relevant for the first time in almost 20 years.  But it was VERY clear yesterday.  What they constructed is good enough to make the playoffs.  It's not good enough to win a Super Bowl.  And everyone involved plays a major role in that truth.

Beane spent THREE YEARS of major draft resources on the D-Line.  What we witnessed yesterday was absolutely unacceptable failure.  With their starting O-Line in shambles, the Bengals completely rolled us in the trenches.  Not a single one of Beane's high picks made a single play all day.  Ed Oliver.  AJ Epenesa.  Greg Rousseau.  Boogie Basham.  Our great hope is a 34-year-old Von Miller coming back from his second ACL tear in December next year.

McDermott seems to have built a close locker room, and players seem to respect him.  But the guy and his staff NEVER bring it when it comes to original/creative gameplans.  He always relying on the players to execute the standard playbook, which is JUST NOT ENOUGH when you are facing elite Quarterbacks in the postseason.  You have to throw in wrinkles and surprises, and he just never does it.  His defense has collapsed in the playoffs four years in a row.

You're describing the Titans of the last 5 years.  I really love me some big baller Beane.  I hope he sees the light and does what needs to be done here.
