Just wanted to say that I legitimately miss Mike Mayock on the NFL Network Draft Coverage. No one else they have is as good or as knowledgeable as him.

...On the other hand, thanks to Mike Mayock the GM for taking Clelin Ferrell, a move without which the Bills would not have been able to get Ed Oliver.

Yea me too... DJ did good tho... but Mike made me leave ESPN alone...Mike made Kiper look like an idiot & I needed more intelligent insight. It was weird not seeing him last night

Surprised he's still on the street. Shouldn't cost much this late in the game.

Because Yeldon sucks at football... I'd rather have Miles Sanders

Good, yes. As good as Saquan Barkley? I'm not going that far.

He's a strong close to Barkley & I saw him play too... I'm a PSU fan... I'm 2 hrs away from State College.

At #40? Fine. If they make such a huge reach at 9, I'll be very, very upset.

In 2019...there is no such thing as a "Reach" anymore Gregg. If you like a guy at 18...you take him at 9! Trading within the draft isnt guaranteed... sometimes you can't find a trade partner. If you love a guy, you go get your guy... plain & simple. If your guy is good... nobody cares where you took him

It would definitely be a bold stroke of the brush picking Metcalf at 9. His suspect hands and route running plus injury history don't justify the 9 spot. Raw talent, high ceiling no doubt.

There are too many very good WR prospects to roll the dice on Metcalf at 9.

If a receiver is the priority at 9 then Hockenson should be the pick.

But nobody has that high of an upside... except for his counter part...AJ Brown

Wow, I’ve seen several mocks where DK isn’t even a first round pick. This would be a massive reach in my opinion. No way he’s a top 10 pick. Trade back if this is the guy you want.

Again...who are you trading with if nobody is trading with you??? If he's your guy ... then what?

The Browns was in love with Denzel Ward last year... he was projected a late 1st & early 2nd... the Browns took him 4th overall.  But he's good... now nobody cares where he was took.

If you could build a team based on end-of-year rankings of both offense (rushing and passing) and defense (rushing and passing), what would your preferred team be the best at?

Hypothetically, you were allocated 35 "points" for each side of the ball, each point is a league ranking, and they all had to be used. For example:

    OFFENSE:

    Passing: 5th

    Rushing: 30th

5+30=35 points. Same goes for defense. How do you want your team to look? I think all of us want a stronger passing game than a rushing game, but are you okay with giving yourself one of the worst rushing games in the league?

On defense, do you stop the other team's passing game totally, but get run on all day? How does game situations effect this? If you're getting run on all of the time, they will control time of possession and have your offense less effective.

Personally, I would go something like:

    Offense:

    Passing- 8th

    Rushing- 27th

    Defense:

    Passing- 12th

    Rushing- 23rd

The offense is still able to move the ball well through the air and can convert 3rd downs on short yardage situations on the ground, and can slow down the other team's passing game well enough to keep the game from becoming a track meet. I would hope to be able to stop the run better, but they still can slow the other team down well enough.

    Passing & stopping the pass.

Teams have run at will against Buffalo the past 2 years and opposing  QBS have been way too comfortable in the pocket.  A WR does nothing to fix that.

jones, brown, foster, Beasley, Roberts, duke is 6 WR already, we aren’t keeping 7, who are you cutting when you draft WR?

Roberts or Duke ....of course... those 2 aren't solidified locks on the roster.

I took the liberty of putting on my GM hat and went through the current roster and removed most of the back up players.  The list below has 48 players on it. That leaves us room for five more players without having to cut a player listed below to stay at 53.   It looks like a solid roster that should only get better after the draft.  Hopefully we will be able to add at least two immediate starters in the draft.  There are not too many players below who are an easy cut.  It's not a bad problem to have.  We are no longer looking to fill gaping holes in the roster,  we are looking to strengthen already solid positions.

I think we need one more TE, we went into the season last year with four on the roster.  We could use some help at DE and LB.  DT also has some room to grow.  Do we draft a RB?   It will be interesting to see which moves McBeane makes over the next two weeks.

Man when you really look at this roster... we definitely need a WR early in this draft. Beasley, John Brown, Zay doesn't scare anyone. Robert Foster maybe... but he needs to take another step.

Just wanted to share this... I've must have watch 3 Ole Miss games this past season. I still love DK... but I'm starting to see AJ Brown as more then just a slot WR. There also seems to be alot of draft experts that's also thinking he could improve his development on the outside at the next level.

Right now I think he's taking my #1 spot in the WR category:

    1. AJ Brown

    2. DK Metcalf

    3. N'Keal Harry

    4. Hakeem Butler

    5. Miles Boykin/Hollywood Brown

The only issue I see with that scenario is almost entirely Offense in the first 3 rounds and the teeth of this Draft in the early rounds is Defense. So, in your example if 15 were a LB or DT, and the other 3rd is the one not selected in the 1st I’m good with that. Because LB / DT is a sneaky need for the Bills, IMO. And a good WR can be had in the 4th; Offenses no longer rely on a traditional #1 WR and given the Bills’ WR additions, I don’t see the Draft being a priority for them in that area.

What is your biggest investment on this team right now??

    Josh Allen correct???

Our weapons were beyond disgusting last year!!! So disgusting...it will allow most to think Beasley & John Brown will actually scare top tier defenses. I'm sorry...its an upgrade from last year...but last year weapons was so awfully eye burning, these upgrades Only tell us how behind we were. Brown & Beasley doesn't scare anyone. Their solid options but only if you have someone for defenses to put more focus on.

AJ Brown is in a different stratosphere then what you can get in the 3rd or 4th rd of this draft. Josh Allen...is our main concern. His weapons NEED to be on point this year or else... we're not serious about winning & wasting his development.

You can get a DL in the 3rd or 4th Rd that will be able to contribute still...that position is that deep! I'd rather them take a AJ Brown, a Irv Smith & a Miles Sanders because all 3 has SUPERSTAR potential & will grow with our biggest investment on our team...& literally make our team extremely better by 2020.

Edit- found this- reminds me of a more powerful Shady

See I'm from Philly... when I tell you...he's a poor Man's Saquan... I'm not just talkin ish! Dude is a beast! He would have broken every record at PSU if it wasn't for Saquan. He's literally the best RB in this draft.

If we can trade back with the Redskins...

Get 15 & draft AJ Brown

2nd Rd get Irv Smith Jr.

Gain an extra 3rd & get Miles Sanders

& the best OL on the board with the other 3rd rd pick... this draft would be an A+++

I'm so embarrassed that I wanted Rosen instead that I call myself a loser everytime I look in the mirror

Don't beat yourself up too bad... Rosen is still a good QB... The Cards entire situation just wasn't good from the gate! Which is why everyone got fired after 1 year! Rosen couldn't do nothing with an o-line worse then the Bills line from last year. What saved Josh is his scrambling ability. If Rosen could scramble he would of had a better season.  He's the prototypical drop back QB... can't fault him for his team not being prepared for his arrival

I ask because I've been watching her now for a good 3 years, and NOTHING she predicts, says, or even comments on is accurate.  1st off, anyone who plays fantasy stay the hell away from any "analytics" advise Frelund gives you, and that's both season fantasy and especially daily fantasy football.  She's total garbage, and her mocks exercises are not even worth the frequency bandwidth of hot air.  Just recently she gives a mock for this years first round of not where she thinks players will go, but which players will have an immediate impact, taking into account what she believes those teams records will be for 2019.  Um.. what?  Why even bother, it's pointless, and zero football knowledge can be gleaned from any of that nonsense, and to watch the guys criticize her without actually criticizing her is laughable, makes me want to puke.  Brooks just literally said that he agreed with Frelund that Haskins could be picked by the Pats at 32 and that (get this) Haskins is Tom Brady 2.0....  Yes he literally just said that!

My point, if not made abundantly clear, is, why is this women on TV talking about football like she's some sage of wisdom every week?  Has anyone ever heard her say anything intelligent when it comes to football fantasy or predictive analytics?  Anything?

    Tim-

Buddy... are you serious right now? Have you seen Cynthia? She's smokin hot! My goodness... yes make up a position for her...analytics...sure... fantasy breakdown...sure.  she's like the hottest frickin weather girl talking football... who cares if the numbers are right or now?!?! ???

Yeah - I find her cute in her way, but she is consistently both not profound and generally awful in her projections.

There has to be someone with better math/analytics skills available.

Her analytics hit more when it comes to fanatsy

Ive got a feeling Beane isn’t quite ready to call it a wrap on building the offense and giving Josh every possible weapon for an explosive  unit.  DK would seal the deal for YEARS to come.

Oh I don't think Beane is done either. I'm just pointing out I don't think he's interested in DK. Beane never will show his hand...& bringing in a rookie prospect twice ... is sort of doing that. Unless you want everyone to take notice because your really not that interested

got dominated by LSU's Greedy Williams......every NFL team has at least one corner just as good as greedy

wasn't even the best WR on his own team.

WR has the highest first round bust rate.....there has been like +20 WR's taken in the first round over last 3-4 years.....very few are studs.

a WR who is poor at change of direction, no quickness is a huge red flag. ran a limited route tree....mainly go routes, all build up speed.

suffered two season ending injuries in 3 seasons (one a neck surgery). played in just 21 games

I am risk adverse in first round. no thanks on metcalf

Mike Evans was used this way in college...& flat out didn't run the 3 cone, neither did Julio...you know why? Because big WR's suck at the 3 cone drill! Doesn't mean they can't run a curl route... or a slant or a Post out/in ... Mike Evans had bad change of direction, but he isn't a slot man & nor is he used like a slot man.

If the Bills draft DK... he won't be running Beasley routes...so I wouldn't worry about that ???

    We need another slot receiver?

I think he can definitely play the outside. There was alot of stuff Ol Miss didn't ask alot of there players... they seemed to have kept them in certain roles & that was it.

I hate coaches like that, cause that's not getting everything out of your players. You just have them stuck in 1 specific role instead of moving guy's around to find the mix match.

  16. Allow me to add a little more content to this thread. I'm thinking the Bills are not intrested in DK... this is the biggest smoky of the smokiest of smoke screens even created! ????

That fact that they brought him in for a 2nd pre draft... means they have someone else in mind. I could be wrong... & I'm the biggest #DKToTheBills trooper on this forum.
