Chicken littles out in force this morning

work to be done today, I see

Honestly I've noticed that to, I may be in the minority around here but I'm confident we win this game tonight. The Bills have been pretty much been put out to pasture by the national media, and I'm expecting them to be fired up with even more motivation. It's the Rodgers show tonight, but I feel we remind the talking heads we aren't going away anytime soon. Bills by a billion!!!!!!! Lol.

Cb ints in end zone tries to run it out versus taking touch back. Ends up tackled at 3 chargers go 3 n out and out from own end zone. Next play Hill beats cb for a TD.  Later on in game chargers lead have fins rattled 3 rd and long and agai hill beats them deep.  Later in series again hill beats them for a TD.  the chargers defense let Tua have ample time and left receivers free was Leslie Frazer consulting their D

Honestly I'm going to give the Dolphins credit on this one, there offense is legit. Both teams defenses stunk today. It was a shoot out and the Dolphins made more plays. Pretty plain and simple in my book.

  3. Honestly the Dolphins offense is exactly what is was last year, it's explosive, they have elite playmaking receivers. But there defense is still a huge question mark. Outside of those last 2 sacks they were getting torched. But week 1 is always weird so at this point who knows how anything will shake out. Either way that was a very fun game to watch.

Nobody is saying Frazier was perfect. But the hate he gets for the results he has produced is way over the top.

What has happened since Jim Johnson is the NFL has changed. The rules have changed. The way offenses play has changed. I don't think Jim Johnson if he was still alive and coaching today would still be running the Jim Johnson defense of the mid 00s. And if he was it wouldn't be as successful.

I understand the game changes, but to really not be aggressive at all, even in today's NFL you have to be multiple. It just seemed to me, we were content on playing the same way over and over again. Yes it has lead to being a top 10 defense year after year but having no counter punch ability in the playoffs has been a big downside of these teams lately.

McD is a Jim Johnson protege who ran a more aggressive 4-3 scheme with a lot of disguised blitzes designed to combat the new (at the time) west coast offense.

Here’s a cool article back when McDermott was just hired by the Bills that goes more in depth. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/12/breaking-down-bills-hc-sean-mcdermotts-defensive-philosophy/

That's what I was thinking during watching how we played defense, Jim Johnson ran a bunch of exotic and disguised blitzes. So watching this team sit back time and time again with a head coach who supposedly is a Jim Johnson protégé has been odd. I understand every coach has tweaks and puts there own spin on how they run things but it seems McDermott has gotten away from most of what he learned under Johnson. So hopefully this is the year he goes back and actually becomes aggressive with the defense.

Because Brady wanted it more than Rivers did. Brady studied the film harder than anyone I know. He was a surgeon on the field. That is what it takes to be great. Doing the little things despite not having the raw elite skill set.

So this is a Tom Brady thread then?

Then how did a non athletic QB like Brady do it 7 times?

Phillip Rivers did not have the physical gifts needed to win a Super Bowl. Allen does and still isn’t doing it.

But yet you say Brady won despite having not physical gifts? You're spinning you're wheels here troll. Honestly do you think people on here are stupid not to know what you trying to do with this thread?

He never really had an elite team. The organization during his tenure was bad at best.

How about Phillip Rivers then? This is exactly my point, you can make a whole list of great Quaterbacks who haven't won a superb bowl. This is a troll thread, and it should be shut down plain and simple.

Why, it’s an honest discussion. Seriously, Brady wasn’t athletic at all compared to Josh, and yet he still managed to win the big games. Why? Was it because he put in more time on the field to learn the ins and outs?

So how come Dan Marino never won a championship then?

I want to spin this off from the Josh is lazy thread, and really debate this at face value. Let’s look at other QBs and their “work ethic” “talent abilities” and compare them to get a better idea of why. Let’s start with Tom Brady.

Everyone here knows that Tom Brady is one of the least athletic QBs and yet he always had solid statistics and always knew where to place the ball.

Everyone here knows that Josh Allen is one of the most athletic QBs.

Josh has admitted he isn’t big into game film. But the more you dig into what it takes to be great, the more concerning that seems to be. How is it that Tom Brady can win so many super bowls with lower tier athleticism and arm strength and yet Josh Allen with his superior skill set has been unable to win even 1 Super Bowl?

Tom Brady never really had a true #1 WR for an extended period of time outside of Moss, and yet he still always managed to keep the chains moving and put up points enough to win games.

Josh Allen has had a true #1 WR for an extended period of time Diggs, and yet still unable to get over the hump.

So I think questions around Allen’s “laziness” is warranted. Why should an elite talented QB be struggling more than a non elite talented QB?

The only real difference is football IQ and studying the game to the point were you can attack and become a master despite not having elite traits.

Maybe I’m wrong in this thinking, and others can chime in. But things do seem to not add up.

OK I'm for most discussions on this board but this is a bad attempt at trolling, you can say it isn't but we know this is what this is. I'm not a mod here but I'd shut this thread down.

I guess this is the part where we start pretending Allen is part of the problem

Oh trust me I've read posters on here who already think he is, not fully committed to saying it yet, but subtle hints here and there. Watch as soon as Josh throws a couple of bad passes or a pick and then the "maybe Whitlock was right" crowd will be out in full force.

…and the “head in the sand crew” never see anything wrong with the players, coaches, front office staff or owners.

    😂

Ofc there are issues, every team in the NFL has them, not one team is flawless. But the amount of femal dogging on this board lately is ridiculous. For a 13 win team we sure do suck is what the narrative of the complaint crew around here is. Discourse is good, but the same tired complaining and negativity about EVERYTHING that has to do with this team is not being a "real fan" it's being an adult acting like a child imo.

Dolphins making some interesting moves, definitely gearing up for a Jonathan Taylor trade which is a scary thought adding a player like that to what is already a top 3 NFL roster, if not best overall.

Also if I'm Beane I'd be taking a very hard look at some of the LB's they released as there is some serious talent there.

This post is pure comedy, I literally just busted out laughing.

If I had time to kill and hated myself, I'd go looking for all of the threads from the last 2 years with people screaming we'd be better off without Edmunds.

Those did not age well, and I'm hoping this thread won't either.

To be fair we still have no idea how this team is without him, but we will soon. But jumping to conclusions around here is common.

Where's my pair of rose colored glasses that everyone else seems to have gotten.  No fair....

Wait so being positively optimistic is wearing rose colored glasses now? Honestly if that's how you respond to someone being positive about there football team then I feel bad for you bud. Hopefully you get a big hug from someone you like being around and feel better. ✌️

Yes, I’m sure the entire coaching and front office staff laughed that performance off with the fans

Obviously the coaches are going to be pissed with that performance, but unlike the "fans" on this board, I highly doubt they believe this team is garbage and will finish last in the afc east and miss the playoffs entirely. I get the overreacting in the regular season game day thread when the game means something. But yesterday's amount of female dogging for a preseason game, as so many would say on here....It has me concerned lol.
