Honestly it's all about competition. Obviously this guy is coming here to compete for a role on this team. Does he make it, probably not but every year we see Beane bringing in guys to push players to earn there spot. I feel this is nothing more then that. Samuel had a rough year so this is probably there way of saying earn you're spot.

Record
3-2 - Worse start since 2018.
All 5 games the Bills were favored by decent margins (MIA only one less than 5, not including NYJ bc if Rodgers was out that 3-pt spread would have been 5+).
2 of our 3 wins are vs sub 500 teams that will not be sniffing the playoffs. Last year we destroyed the super bowl champ Rams and 2 prior playoff teams in TEN and PIT and a close one vs another playoff team in BAL. The one loss was the extreme heat game in MIA.
Stats
We have a huge 79 pt scoring differential. Scoring 159 and only giving up 80. But...last year we were at 152 scored and only 61 given up, so a better differential of 91. This narrative about this years record breaking pace is actually not as impressive if you choose to remember last year.
On O last year we had 4 games with over 400 yds, basically 2 with 500 yds and only 1 with 300. This year we have only hit 400 twice and not sniffed 500.
On D last year we held 4 teams under 300 yds (1, almost 2 under 200 yds). No one gut 400 on us. This year we have only held 3 and 2 had essentially 400.
Injuries
We have lost White and likely Milano. Last year we had no White for a long time, Miller went out week 6, Hyde went out week 2, Poyer was out 4 games, Oliver, Edmunds, Morse all missed 3 games, not to mention Allen and Davis played banged up.
Verdict
So are we in better shape compared to last year? The narrative has been how much improved we are on paper. We have also heard how great the numbers have been despite the two losses. But as shown above last year was actually more impressive after 5 games.
The remaining schedule is tough, this was supposed to be our easy stretch. Quickly coming down the pike we have @CIN, @KC, @PHI, @MIA, @LAC, home v DAL. That is 6 very tough games. If we can go 3-3 in those games and win the rest we are supposed to win that puts us at 12-5. This will likely be tight with MIA. Any slips and we are fighting for a wild card.
And hey maybe we go 4 and 2 or 1 and 5 that's the thing..the games are played either way. Teams can win and lose, the Dolphins might go undefeated from here or maybe even crap the bed. Maybe travis kelce decides to become the next pop icon along side Taylor Swift. This was far from a reality check post more so let me assume how I feel the season plays out.

Lets not act like he blew everyone out for 20 years because of Tom Brady. They won many games where they weren't their best or the other team even had more talent.
For the Bills to win, Allen has to dominate the opponent. We aren't winning rock fights 17-16 and stuff. That's what is needed though if you want a Super Bowl
Again yes Belichick can be great at times, but lately he hasn't been and let's not forget he also put that team together he has now. He is the gm and coach and last year and this year especially has been awfully bad. I'm not discrediting past success but rightnow he looks like a mediocre and at times bad coach.

Maybe or maybe not, it all depends if Von eventually shows flashes of getting back to wat he was before his injury here. But basing that after 20 snaps in his 1st football game back since a acl tear is definitely jumping to a conclusion.

But with the players we have lost we need him sooner then we did. Yeah in a perfect senerio I would of agreed with you're plan but the mounting injuries to key players means we need you and need you asap.

I agree the coaching has been lacking but all we know of the situation is what we see and what they tell you in these weak press interviews. Hopefully it can change and be figured out but at this point I'm starting to believe McDermott preached for the offense we are seeing Dorsey try and run and it's been a new chapter but same story....inconsistency.

Again we have no idea if McDermott already told Dorsey if this is how he wants the offense to run. This already may be on McDermott is all I'm saying. And if that's the case the coaching is done and dusted and we may be out of answers. We blame dorsey and say McDermott needs to step in and fix it but this shorter pass game and not letting Josh really run might of been his call.

I'm sorry this man put Matt Patricia and Joe Judge in charge of his offense last year, even the players went off on that decision...Kendrick Bourne especially. I'm not saying Bill is the worst coach in the NFL but he hasn't been good either.

Sorry, but that's the truth.
The issues of the offense yesterday were obvious to anyone watching.
We can all arm chair gm and Monday morning quarterback, I am not at the level of anyone who coaches or plays the game. So my opinions and fixes for this team aren't anything but opinions. We can say it's easy to see and this is how you fix it but in reality we aren't at the level of knowledge in football that Nfl players and coaching staffs are.

We traveled over seas with a 6 hour time difference 2 days before the game and played a team that has been there for 2 weeks. The field was awful and the jags had been practicing on it. They came out flat like 99% of all teams would in this scenario. The overseas games are a joke.

I agree but the loss of Milano is to me very bad. Yes it could of happened anywhere but for some reason it happening in England of all places is just making it worse for me..why idk it just is.

The misuse of TE, the overuse of shotgun, the late adjusting to what the Jags were doing... it's all fair points, on the mark. But lack of consistency? Again the stats show it was quite the decent showing, and no team scores on every drive except the Bills against The Cheats (yesssss!). I recall the board on here a few years back constantly moaning when Josh hadn't had a 300 yard game yet. Now it's so routine people complain about other things...
I'm personally over just stats...winning here is what matters. Let the tv "experts" worry about style points. The game was there for the taking and we didn't take it.

Exactly players can make plays but it's Dorseys job to exploit matchups and take advantage of teams weaknesses. If it was just all on the players offensive coordinators wouldn't exist in football. If the players can get flamed the coaching clearly should get burned as well.

Adam's is far and above the player Hines is. If Devonte Adam's is on the field he is going to make plays. Dorsey is an issue for sure but not even he would screw up what Adam's would bring to this offense.

Honestly if you expected him to go from 0 to 100 his first time on the field then you set yourself up for failure. He had no training camp, no preseason and hasn't played in an actual game since the injury. He needs time to get into game shape. That's reality, it was an acl tear not a minor injury here. Regardless of how young any player is coming off an acl tear there is a ramp up period and usually a hard pitch count. So the overreaction to the way Von looked yesterday is just plain ridiculous at this point. He needs game reps, actual in game reps so saying we wasted a roster spot on him is wrong.

The NFL has been and always will be about the money. Honestly there is nothing we can do to change that. Other then boycotting the league fans can't fix something controlled by billionaires. Only way to change things is hurt there pockets and with how popular football is in this country it won't happen.

But both things can be true here. The game plan stunk and losing the players made it worse. Players make plays, and good players can mask even the ugliest of game plans.

Oh with the injuries on defense now the offense HAS to produce. So whatever cuffs they put on Josh at least have to be loosened. We will still have a decent defense but I doubt it can sustain the offensive side of the ball being as inept as it was yesterday.

Actually that's quite an accomplishment to have two guys get suspended right after signing contracts. I feel that's worth a few MVP votes in my book lol
