True, but you can't say that without acknowledging pro athletes are nothing like normal employees. We are easily replaceable, a top athlete in his prime isn't.

Ok, I acknowledge they are whiny rich idiots that don’t follow the rules at work and deserve to be fired or reprimanded.

In all seriousness though, sure, I’ll agree they are not easily replaceable, but isn’t that a moot point?  They are still on the job are they not?  If you asked me to agree that buffalo pizza is better than Chicago style, sure I will, but what does that have to do with the players doing the wrong thing on the clock.

    Cut and dry, no?

Tired of the whole anthem thing.

Nobody else in this country has the right to demonstrate/protest on company time.

Nobody else in this country could expect to keep their job when they purposely p**s-off a large chunk of the company's customers.

Guys like Colin Kaepernick and Malcolm Jenkins don't even realize it.  But ridiculous antics like this are one of the primary reasons Donald Trump won the election in the first place, and why he will probably get re-elected in 2020.

I don’t understand how ANYBODY can’t grasp this.  Everything happened at the players’ place of employment.

    Case closed.

I guess people don’t need facts anymore.

Using your brain is apparently no longer P.C.

If this helps I figure out what search engines I use and then type in the subject I want to read about. In this case type in Josh Allen and Buffalo Bills. Then whenever my search engine or sports site like Bleacher Report has an article come up, it shows on your preferred reading material. Others on here might have a better or easier way of doing it, but that is how I do it. I have seen a lot on Darnold, but not much on the rest of the quarterbacks drafted in the first round. Hope it works for you.

What’s a search engine?  How good is the gas mileage?

I certainly am not actively rooting against allen, why would I? But this kid has more excuses and excuse makers on this board in a month than tyrod had during his whole tenure as a starter. Funny how that is.

some bitter sap posted a thread about how rosen was “lookin good” as if that means anything (much like this thread) and some stan just had to ape that guy’s headline word for word and sub in allen for rosen because they heard joe b say allen had a good day in shorts throwing against air as well.

The first step toward fixing a problem is admitting to yourself you actually have a problem.

Put the crackpipe down. Everyone and the blind mothers thought Tyrod looked good, played well enough to not be benched, and given a $700 billion contract. There were so many excuses it was nauseating.

    Good riddance to bad rubbish!

We don’t know what Allen will do, but you should probably keep pissing on people’s cornflakes, because the sky is falling and Allen definitely sucks, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

No, I've been a huge Red Sox fan for going on 30 years now.

Have no interest one way or the other in anything NBA related--so I'm totally neutral on Celtics.

Dislike the Bruins as a long time Sabres rival, but also respect the franchise and their historical approach to icing good, tough, physical teams.  Don't hate the Bruins as much as I probably should.   LOL.

With the past the bruins have, I find it hard to hate on them too. With Ray Bourque, cam Neely, and Adam Oates....that team was brutal.

Im glad Lucic got shipped out of there and hate that 8ft tall cheap shot artist Chara.

So still no Forced Patriotism. I see no Anthem. No pledge at your work. No Forced Patriotism to the Nation at your job i see

Such a limited statement with zero context.

But hey there was a fake vote that was i guess unanimous even though within 24 hours of said vote teams themselves going against said unanimous vote See Jets

Dude, they are employees. FACT. They are on the clock.FACT. They have zero right to freedom of speech while at work. FACT.

The FACT that you cannot connect the dots has me puzzled.  Starting to wonder if you’re trolling or really not into facts.

Great.  That’s your experience.  It doesn’t mean all workplaces work that way (or should work that way).  Why do you so strenuously object to union-protected employees expressing their views in this way?

    Not me.

Because you have to shut the hell up or be fired at your job, does that mean those rules should apply in all workplaces?

I didn’t say I had to shut the hell up. I have to follow the rules like everyone else. Unless you’re the boss, you don’t decide which rules you want to follow.

I simply stated that I follow the rules because I value my job and yes that does apply in all workplaces.  Try coming in 3 hours late while drunk and tell your boss to f*ck off.  Still think you’re untouchable??  That would probably be a very humbling experience for you. Then again, maybe not.

If players take advantage of the stage they’re on for anything other than what their bosses allow, they should be reprimanded or let go.

Then why play the Anthem before the games again?  Why accept money from the DoD again? Why have the support the troops things again?

Or is it a sporting event need not be politicizes when I dont like the message??

So again no Forced Patriotism correct?

So was this condition of employment negotiated with their Collectively Bargined Employees?  Or decided on in a select meeting without even a formal vote?

No sir, that is not correct.  If my boss says jump, I don’t even ask how high.  I jump or I’m fired.  If my boss says “I need you to take your lunch an hour late today”, I’m FORCED to oblige.  If my boss says something like “Here at company x, we have never and will not ever tolerate you kneeling during the national anthem. If you do choose to to kneel, exercising your own right to freedom of speech, our bottom line goes down and you will be asked to leave”, I will make damn sure I’m not caught kneeling during the national anthem if I value my job.

    Any other questions?

And I, again, have ask you about your job.  Can you do whatever you please at anytime when you are on the clock???

How does this not make sense to people??????

Sure but this is unhelpful to the discussion. Imagine if in every thread about the Bills' decisions you came in and said "the Bills can do what they want, and that's that. We are spectators and have no say." This wouldn't be a fun message board if that's what every discussion boiled down to. Likewise we shouldn't restrict this discussion only to what the league CAN do. Everyone agrees the NFL can set whatever anthem policy they want, where we disagree is what that policy SHOULD be.

I don’t believe it’s unhelpful at all. People want to talk about facts. If I decided to hold a protest, peaceful or not, at work I would be fired. Case closed. FACT.

I believe we all have these rights provided to us, but at work, you face the consequences of your actions. The players should be held to the same standards at the very least that I’m held to.

Tell me why this is unimportant.  Tell me how you have the freedom to do whatever you want while “on the clock” without any consequence.

In my opinion, which is worth less than $.02, this is the deciding factor on these players’ freedom of speech. It’s among the only facts that actually matter in this situation and it gets overlooked and understated at every turn.

Some people think their feelings should trump facts.....not me

For one, Brady Quinn is wrong. He wasn’t even old enough in 2001 to know what happened prior to 9/11.

Ive been going to games since much before that and I can tell you the players came out and stood there at the anthem. This was back when people were proud of this country.

Now you have a bunch of Whiney babies that care more about their feelings than the rights of others.

Im sure some of you will attack me for this. I don’t care. Put me on ignore if you haven’t already. You are part of the problem anyway

First of all. Thank you for your service.

Unfortunatey where you are wrong is that the NFL has mandated that if you are out on the field you will stand for the national anthem. It is their rule and their company. And the players are employees of their company. And if they don’t like it, they can sit in the locker room prior to the anthem or look elsewhere for a new job. I heard the Hamilton Tiget Cats are looking for NFL caliber players nowadays.

I wish I could like this twice. People always seem to forget the players are employees and “on the job”.

Still missing the point entirely. I was making fun of the people that were putting down Streater. I shouldn’t have to explain this, anyone with a half a pea brain knew that was sarcasm and I don’t actually think it’s dumb to hope a player that showed promise will play well. It’s not my fault you don’t understand it.

Do all jokes go soaring a thousand miles over your head, or just the sarcastic variety?

Enjoy your day, hopefully no one makes any jokes you can’t grasp or you’ll have to get a whole aloe plant.

Damnit Bobby!  I apologize. Apparently my pea brain misread something twice.  Honestly, looked earlier and for a second time I misread.

Still though, you present yourself like a pompous d*ckhole.  Maybe not always but definitely today. I’m sure you never make mistakes though (see, sarcasm).  You probably have a very large brain and are superior intellectually to most if not all here(more sarcasm).

Most at of all, have a fine day. And never forget, I love you(not sarcasm)

    P.S.  really though.....my bad

Not very quick on the uptake? Thought you were a d*ck before but you just doubled down.

I saw you reply to the other poster with some ridiculous nonsense.  Called you out on it and I’m “slow on the intake”.

    Enjoy your day bud

Also, I just re-read the OP and from the start I appreciated your opinion and thought you sounded pretty reasonable.  The part where you respond to another poster and call it dumb.  I see the same thing as before.  You say something ridiculous and make yourself out to be a fool.  No harm meant, but yea, I must be “slow on the intake”.  I’ll get out the aloe for that burn

You’re way out of line. Hoping a reciever that showed promise will play well for your team is dumb.

We should surround our new qbs with the most talent we can.

I get trying to see what we’ve got with the young guns but not at the detriment of the development of our new qbs.

What?!?.......Isn’t that what all of us do, regarding every player on the roster? I sure hope players that have shown promise, will pan out in the future.

Just so I’m clear on this, making fun of a person who was shot in the head is funny, whereas making fun of the person who was making fun of the person who was shot in the head is not funny.

I don’t know how to be any clearer. It was a joke. If you are offended, maybe there isn’t a need to tell the internet. Again, no offense, but nobody cares

Surprised to see so many votng for O.J. that's pretty disgusting.

Yes!!!  Vote for your favorite RB based on their acting careers or some other off the field reason.  Well thought out.

    Oooo I like you

Notice I only asked for your favorite RB and why.

Not sure why you felt it was necessary to join the conversation if you didn’t want to.

    Super glad you’re here too

Also, many fans cite players who give back to their communities and others who make donations as personal favorites.  Not sure why you would think “favorite” and “best” are interchangeable, when in fact the poll obviously stated the determination could be based on “any” criteria

  16. Who is your favorite RB that has played for the Bills and why? The RB could have found more success after their stint in Buffalo(Lynch) or not(Jackson, Spiller).  Maybe you prefer O.J. because of his role in naked gun. Any reason at all.

Classless joke? Hard to tell if you're a 6th grader, elderly, or an SJW. Lighten up bud. I doubt many here would down thumb a joke about Tom Brady kissing his kid for about 10 seconds or if he squirted a few tears.

I'll start a new trend. I'm offended at you being offended.  You've demonstrated a pure lack of class, sir or ma'am.

Do you have another explanation why Bob Ross prefers white on his canvas? It’s clearly a sublanimal message with his choice of color. I read a lot of articles on this very topic at the coffee shop where I hang out.

It's clear there is no other explanation. That super liberal racist hippie did that with the illest intentions. Watch out at those coffee shops too!

i was looking around for some vids of our new (not yet, but future HOF) QB the day after we drafted him, and all that was coming up (except on this board which lanked me up some nice high lights) was woke hot takes on his tweets.

one woke clown tard, who i think was a basketball player, was getting homotional and saying the n bomb tweet from allen was hostile and confrontational, and not like some other tweet by some other person which was quoting a rap song.  needless to say, lolz were had.  i actually recognized the song that allen tweeted!  he also tweeted some tv show, and made a joke about penis (which i found personally offensive, because that's a symbol of the patriarchy and she persisted and i'm with her).

i do remember some very angry posters here talking about how his tweets, as a 15 year old, were horrible and very concerning.  and i agree, because how dare anyone do anything!
