while the season is not over yet UB has signed 17 kids to the incoming freshman class.

Including a big 6’5 3* pocket passer who switched from the last minute from Rice to UB...

they also signed 3 offensive lineman , 4 dlineman and a slew of WRs

unfortunately Lockport native and #4 player in NY, WR Malik Brooks did not sign with UB yet as intended... though he did say UB is still his #1 choice

(edit Malik Brooks signed with Monmouth ?)

    ? horns up

716 you got any reports or views on the 6 kids they signed in late signing period? Thanks

    Simple - accountability.

To a degree its about knowing your audience as well. It might sound silly, but this was the primo place to discuss Bills stuff for a decade. People who already didnt know (beginners per se) would google buffalo bills message board and would litterally get the BBMB and have at it. TWDSW was a little more advanced perhaps. Im sure this reeks of ignorance,  but the convo really was a bit more advanced or next level. There were no threads about how Josh Allen looks in shorts or silly threads about bad hires due to Carolina connections.  If there was, it was snuffed out real quick. If you didnt have to ignore stupid threads before and now you do, some could find it annoying. Some say something mean, some poke fun, and some simply ignore.

Some simply move on, some dont. In the grand scheme of things are you really that much better complaining about the people who complain? Policing the police as it were? Prob not. Not to mention,  its also how people learn. All you have here is your handle. If you wanna gunk it up by publicly posting stupid things you are entitled to - but people remember that and next time you post something you will also be remembered as the person who thought Matt Vallejo was the answer.

Rough, maybe... but if we are being honest in general this isnt the best beginner board out there. It may even be a small reason why newbie posting rules were just put into play.

It is what it is man...it is what it is

If your going to be an arrogant maybe you should get players name right.

    Ed Oliver

53 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks in 32 games

    3 time all American

2 time conference defensive player of the year. I would say Donald's and Oliver's college pedigree are pretty even. Oliver was also a 5* recruit.  Other than the hiccups after his injury he had been everything the Bill's are looking for.

Also I'm not saying Oliver will be Donald in pros but it is apples to apples coming out of college.

The benefit of building a team with a good culture is that you can add a player or two with a sketchy history and count on your team leaders keeping him on the right path.  That being said, aside from some questions about him taking off plays, I never heard much about him being an issue, until his run in with Applewhite.  Everyone deserves a pass, but if it helped him drop to us at 9, we owe Major A. a big thank you.

Just wondering where you have seen he takes plays off?  That's the first I heard of this. Thanks

Odomes was Pro Bowler in '92 and '93 seasons for Bills. Signed to a big FA deal by Seattle and got hurt and never played a down for them in 2 years.  He tried to come back in 96 with ATL and couldn't play, starting in 4/7 games played before retiring at end of season.

From 1988-1990 the Bills SS Leonard Smith was a hard-hitting SS and really brought it every play.    After 1990 season the Bills lacked physicality in the Secondary until 1994 when Matt Darby became the starting FS.  It got a little tougher when Kurt Schultz became FS in 1995.

IIRC in Giants SB, Kelso was done for year and John Hagy started at FS.  Likewise at CB, JD Williams was out so Kirby Jackson played instead.  Odomes played CB and Leonard Smith was SS.  Kelso played in Redskins SB.  Leonard Smith had a knee infection and missed SB XXVI and Dwight Drane played instead.  Smith never returned to NFL.

For 1992 SB Smith was out replaced at SS by Henry Jones and Kelso played FS.  JD Williams and Kirby Jackson split time at one CB position with Odomes at the other.

By end of 1993 season, Odomes played last year as a Bill and Mickey Washington and JD Williams platooned at one CB position while Kelso and Jones were FS/SS respectively.

I believe Kelso played in SB25. there is a highlight I remember they showed for awhile after a where Kelso got run over by OJ Anderson. The Bill's secondary was a mess during Super Bowl years. Losing Burroughs really hurt them. As for best Bill's safety I would have to say Freeman. The 2 guys they have now are well on there way there.

Why do most think McDermott and Beane are looking for choir boys?  They don't care if guys have had trouble in the past, they are not just looking for "high character" Marv Levy guys, they are looking for team players.  If they think he will mesh in the locker room, they will give him a chance.  That doesn't mean they won't drop him off like a bad habit if he gets in trouble off the field, but "The process" is not about putting together a team of "good guys", it's about putting together a team.

Not trying to argue but their actions have been the opposite of everything you said so far in my opinion. This move reeks of desperation. I think this guy will be long gone before they get to training camp.

Which recruit are you talking about because Malik Brooks was the #1 player committed to UB and a top 70 WR but decomitted

The 2 receivers I was talking about were Charlie Jones and Rodney Scott, both redshirt freshman this year. Jones played well early. According to 24/7 Sporrts Scott is UB's 3rd highest rated recruit ever.

Sucks they did not get Brooks wonder if he knew Jackson was not going to stay. What say you?
