That's the plan.Tbh, that is not an impressive looking receiving core.

Re-tooling with Allen at QB is unacceptable.

Impossible to answer. You have to tke coaching and personnel around QB's into the equation.
-
Ignoring age, I would take Evans every day as a #1 over Diggs. That's not a knock on Diggs. Evans is just flat out better imo.
Too bad we couldn't get him
-
Watson trade is worse imo. The sad thing for Cleveland I'dthat they are a legit starting QB away from being SB contenders.
Denver must be looking to draft Penix or maybe move up for Mye/Daniels.

Fair or not, we essentially handed the Chiefs the driving force behind a dynasty.

Agree with all this except I am higher on Allen and McDermott's chances than you.
I am high on Allen's chances. The D in these games causes me concern though
-
I will always watch and be a Bills fan. My patience with McDermott will be gone entirely if they are healthy and defense is bad in the postseason again. D is supposed to be his specialty.

Personally, I'd bring in Belichick and try to steal Chris Jones from the Chiefs.
This.
He was great when he had an elite QB. He would have one here.

I think it's Love. I don't see him as a guy who will need talent at most positions to succeed IE Purdy or Dak. I think he will be the best QB in the conference. I think their HC, very underrated, is one of the best in the league as well. Most importantly, the organization seems well run and fixes issues when they arise. SF might be the best team in the NFC right now. However, they are getting older. And GB is very young. The NFC is easier to get through as well. That plays a huge part.
Stroud-My second pick to get it done. I think they will own the division for the foreseeable future. And he looks like the real deal. I can see him in that Allen tier of QB's before long.
Burrow's injury history concerns me. Two out of four years his season ended early. If I was assured he I'd healthy, this would be a different answer.
Herbert might have a great HC now. But being in the same division as KC gives me pause. And I don’t like what I've seen from Herbert in the clutch. Maybe that was Staley & it'll get fixed now.
Most of us don't particularly see winning this division as a huge accomplishment anymore. I think Pegula does though. Especially since McD did this after the organization was in a rut for so many years. So...I have doubts they will move away from McD. Otherwise, I'd pick Allen.
Jackson-Just not a believer until it happens. He's not a guy I have any faith in whatsoever.
1 hour ago, GunnerBill said:100% agree. And also while I know not everyone here shares this opinion because he once beat the Chiefs in the playoffs I am not a Zac Taylor guy. I trust Burrow. I just don't trust the organisation around him.
This.
I don't trust their ownership most of all.

When I lived in KC, someone a few blocks from me was shot in the face for refusing to give a handout to a panhandler at a bus stop. On New Years, there were so many guns firing into the air it sounded like firecrackers. KC can be a pretty dangerous city.
St. Louis is bad too. Ditto Memphis.
Is it a small city problem with nothing else to do?
Who knows
-
Here's a question: If Belichick is coaching the past two playoff games against KC, do they lose them both? I'm guessing absolutely not.
So it's definitely coaching first and foremost. This organization needs an experienced offensive HC. Can include college too.
Other teams get injured too. I'm not going with that excuse.

When you play for Kyle Shanahan you don't have the authority to change plays at the line beyond the very strict set rules. You paint by the numbers he draws or he dumps you and gets someone who will. In Kyle Shanahan's offense the Quarterback is an extension of Kyle's brain. That is how it has to work. It is non-negotiable.
Then I don't think Shanahan/Allen would work. Maybe that's why he didn't go after Brady in 2020 either
Elite QB's aren't going to continously go with meh playcalls.

They need to come out of this draft/FA with pass rushers, receivers, DL, and CB or two.
This is the biggest draft to date in the Beane/McD era

I never thought it was broken to begin with. I’m old school. If your team gives up a TD in OT, Your team should lose the game. All this both teams need a chance is elementary. Defense is part of the game
Bingo.
I was fine with them changing it to where team can't win with a fg on the opening possession.
I don't care that this rule cost the Bills a few years ago. But I like the rule where a TD on possession one ends it. A FG gives the other team a chance.
This new rule came about, ironically enough, because of 13 seconds game.

Swap the two teams divisions and leave everything else untouched the Bills have been to multiple Superbowls and the 9ers haven't made any.
Bingo.
49ers would be in tough with this division.
I feel like Shanahan would probably win a SB here because Allen has the authority to change at the line. And Allen can probably overcome more coaching mistakes than a Purdy.
If the team were going all in for one year, I'd want Belichick. But he will be 73 by 2025.
-
Allen needs to do nothing differently against KC. He is the reason we beat them during the year. And have a chance in the postseason.
It's every other player and coach that needs to step up. Especially coaches.
I feel like McDermott won't be coach when/IF we beat KC in January. It'll be someone like Belichick or Ben Johnson. And I don’t think McDermott will be the HC when/if we win the SB.

It's our Lombardi or else McDermott is done imo. I don't even think an AFC title game appearance saves him.
To win the title, we need legit weapons sans Diggs. We need a huge upgrade on D. And a special assistant coach to help McD with time management etc.
-
NE because they were in the division and you felt hopeless. They also beat us on a consistent basis. KC doesn't beat us consistently. Well...regular season at least. I like Reid alot more than Bill too.
It's annoying how similar Mahomes and Brady actually are. No lead, whether 25 points or what not, is ever safe against them. Both had GOAT TE's. Both had GOAT HC's. When everything looked lost, they rise from the ashes.

I just look at the eye test....and yes Shanahan has made some ridiculously questionable coaching decisions but if this guy can get to 2 superbowls and nearly win them with the likes of Jimmy G and Purdy just think of what he'd do here with JA17.
And again, if the argument is that Sean McDivisional is a top 10-15 head coach in this league at best (which mine is and always will be) that means there's more than a few guys out there that could do better....shanahan just being one of them.
Yeah I think Allen would change things. Because he has the authority to audible etc.

Its a shame because they were gashing them in the run but they got stuffed for no gain on 2nd and 6 just before 2 min warning. Had they gotten more yards there they probably run again on 3rd down and at least force Chiefs to use a TO.
Could he have had a better play on 3rd down? Nobody knows. Great play call by Spags.
A first down there of course wins the game. Hard to fault him for the 2nd down call just because it didn't work.
What was so stupid was taking the ball first in OT!!! No way you are stopping KC with four downs to get 10 and no clock to worry about. Stoooopid!!!!!!
Yup.
KC having 4 downs is an automatic TD for them. If you kick it away, they will likely use three downs. Either way, you know what needs to be done on your drive.
The fact he barely knew any of this tells me his team would have ran onto the field to celebrate a go ahead, not GW, TD. It also tells me one team was clearly better prepared for all situations.

This is the exact reason why this franchise is never going to win anything, especially if Terry Pegula believe McDivisional and Shannahan are one in the same or McD is actually better....
Shanahan is better.
But....after seeing him screw up so many big games, who is to say he suddenly changes as our HC?
Now...maybe Allen overrides his dumb calls and takes over himself.
But idk...
-
I think he would be the best OC in the game. A HC is responsible for alot more though.
He is definitely overrated. I wouldn't want him as Bills HC.
SF is stuck with him. They can't fire him. So do they just hope he calls a great 60 minute game someday?
I've ripped Belichick all season. But last night is exactly why you would want him as your HC in a huge game.
I thought Reid was more important than Mahomes yesterday. Mahomes was very good. Not spectacular. Reid and Spagnola (deserves hof as a DC) were terrific

My working theory is that Shanahan didn't know the overtime rules, either. It's the only explanation for that bizarre decision to take the ball first.
Can you imagine if SF scored a TD, everyone runs out onto the field. Suddenly, refs move everyone away and tell them KC still gets an offensive possession. Then, the Chiefs go down and scre a TD and get the 2 point conversion to take the game.
What an embarrassing moment that would be.

Do you think what SF has at HC is acceptable?
Not in the SB.
But...McD hasn't done that yet.
I keep saying it. But I wouldn't be stunned if your Bills HC in 2025 is....
Bill Belichick
We have not taken a step back.

Step back? No
Step forward? Also no
Right now, KC, Bal, Cin, & Hou all have better teams imo.
And if Rodgers is healthy, I'm not seeing us being that much better than the Jets. Thus, winning this division is no longer a guarantee.
Time is running out. If NE actually gets a franchise QB, they could be division contenders by 2026.
