This just proves he does that little stutter step all the time, and people complaining about a fake slide are ridiculously wrong.

Also, they call that late hit on the slide 90% of the time, so idk what OP is complaining about. He hit him pretty solid. If he didn’t want to get flagged he should have stopped or leapt over the top, which defenders usually do to avoid contact.

Im complaining that its called 90% of the time. That teams get 15 yards, not because they earned it, but because the defender hits him a millisecond late. Its stuff like this, which makes people question if the NFL is fixed. Im not upset with the bills at all. Its nice to finally get one in our favor. But it could very easily be switched the opposite way in an upcoming game.

This time of the year the Bills home jerseys should be the Red Uni's because of the same thing that happened in the Snowvertime game if the Bills wear the Red uni's and the opponent has to wear white & it snows instant advantage Bills ...

If Mahomes or any other QB that comes to Highmark and has to play in a snow it is harder to pick out your guy if it's snowing & they are dressed in white so IMHO the play off home jersey's should be the red uni's to add to the HFA . Even though they have the red helmet to see in the snow it could make a difference .

What advantage is different, from red vs blue in a snow game?

Bingo!  Some posters can't B word about Allen and McD after this game so they find new ways to throw shade on the Bills.

The point I was trying to make, was is this good for the sport. Milli-second "late" hits, that result in a free 15 yard penalty. Its calls like this, that make people feel the game is fixed, cause the officials can award first downs for plays like this.

Look, I want to separate a few things here:

    • One is my opinion on QB slides. I think they are overly enforced and tilt the favor further to the offense that doesn't need any more tilting.
    • Two is "is that penalty accurate as called?" In my mind, yes. Allen began his slide, was fully on the ground and stopped. At that moment the play is dead. I know Allen sometimes sells the call a bit, but in Rules as Written, it's the correct call.
      • You can think it's a "soft call", or lament the loss of smashmouth football and I'll be there with you. But those are the kind of calls that we would get against us all the time, so it's not like it's something new.
    • Finally: if you think Allen did a "fake slide" on his TD run I need the contact information of your dealer stat, but request that you not watch Bills games while you are high out of your  mind.

Im following along with the discussion on twitter and such, and why the "fake slide" is getting more attention to the play im talking about is weird to me.

I agree, the penalty is called accurately as the rule is written. I just hope they tweek it a little in the coming seasons.

  5. The 4th quarter unnecessary roughness penalty on the Steeelers.

Look, im glad the bills won, and any penalty the Bills get in their favor, I feel is great, after 17 years of us seeing other teams benefit from bad calls. But the NFL needs to really evaluate whats considered a late hit on a QB slide. I really dont think he was hit late on that. I think as Allen starts to slide, the defender has pretty much already left his feet. Allen is still sliding as he gets hit, showing how "not late" it was.

What do you guys think? Not just thinking about it from the Bills point of view, but football in general.

Whatever a roof is fine as well.  My point was you’re building new infrastructure in this climate it makes zero sense not to spend that kind of money and not consider covering the building.

Thats why it will have a partial roof. Reduce shoveling needed by about 70%. Plus all the hallways will be heated and large and wide. Somehow, boston, new jersey, cleveland, pittsburg and philadelphia can have their open air stadiums, and not be called morons.

And where is all the 2’ plus of snow going to go that falls on top of and around all the tarps? The weight of snow on the tarps would be ridiculous. This isn’t Fl. It’s still a massive cleanup.

Serouisly not having a retractable design build here is just utter stupidity.  Especially in this day and age.

Why do you want a retractable roof instead of just a regular roof? The regular roof would be cheaper. The retractable roof would only be opened once or twice a year. The NFL would only allow us to open it on a perfect weather day.

I thought there were no sun night games week 18?

    Or is that just Monday?

I figured it would be sat night or 4:25 on sunday

Teams that need help from other teams will play at the same time. Think about the 2017 bills who needed help. But in that year, there was no stand alone win and in games for anybody, so they didnt do SNF. Its possible that can happen, and NBC just loses a game.

I've pondered this since Saturday night and while I still agree on the surface, they did win the game and kept season alive. But obvious reasons for concern heading forward:

    - The Patriots game won't be easy and I'm sick of these ridiculous Vegas lines. My guess game is too close for comfort until 4th quarter again before Bills pull away and play better at home and probably win by 7 - 9 points.

    - This team sucks on the road this year no matter what way you slice it with only one 'easy' win against a garbage commanders team that was closer than final score indicated until 4th quarter. So this is why I give serious pause to them winning in Miami next week, and in the playoffs which is something that McD/Allen have never done.

    - People keep raving about the oline, but they were terrible against the Chargers and again this is a trend on the road because they were also trash in KC (albeit against an elite defense/best in league).

    - As much as he's broke out this year, James Cook can't be trusted and I see that rearing it's ugly head in the playoffs too should the Bills get there.

    - I still think this team is closer to the one that was 5-5 in the first 10 games vs. what we've seen since Dorsey has been fired.

You can make similar arguments about every other team in the NFL now. All that matters is, did you win by at least 1 point?

  10. Getting the punt to land by the 10 yard line or inside it, seems to be as difficult as bass making a 53 yard field goal. I would suggest, the bills attempt to convert the 4th down play, over going for the punt. But yes, Bass missed from 53 earlier, but Bass has been great all year aside from last night, so no reason not to trust him still.

If it's true then it took the NFL just one bad loss against Cincinnati under mitigating circumstances to jump off the Bills bandwagon. The Jest game is an obvious gimme but other than the Bengals game, that is an awful prime time slate. They would be leaving an awful lot of meat on the bone.

Being the anchor team for a primetime game is what happens when you are good. They want to give tampa or denver some primetime exposure, so they put them against buffalo.
