  1. The biggest overreaction was how bad the DL was for the Bills. Jones on the Chiefs had the fastest sack for the Chiefs last night at about 4 seconds. When Burrow played us he was getting most of his completions out at about 2.5 seconds. You aren't going to get sacks or presssures when the QB is getting the ball out that fast. And how was he getting the ball out so fast? It was bad coaching decisions on the Bills to play zone coverage and routinely be 5 - 10 yards off their receivers. I get that Mcdermott and Frazier's system works for most of the season against inferior talent and coordinators but they basically did the exact opposite of what they were supposed to do in that game.

Our coaching sucks and I think that is generally still an under reaction on this board. Mcdermott needs to go. He is going to come up small just like he has in all 4 of his playoff loses with Josh Allen as his QB. Just inexcusable that you give up 19 second half points to Houston. Give up around 40+ both times to the Chiefs and allow Burrow with no offensive line to come into Buffalo in the winter and carve you up. I'm so sick of his inexcusable failure at this point.

  2. Every Bills fan needs to be watching this game closely. It’s so maddening at how bad our gameplan was on both sides of the ball. All 4 games we lost in the playoffs with Allen the defense absolutely choked because of the gameplan not the players. You can’t tell me the Bills didn’t have any talent on the defensive side the last 4 years. And McDermott is supposed to be a defensive guy lol. The guy runs a system that works for most of the regular season which is good enough to win games but then he doesn’t gameplan for the teams we are playing in the playoffs.

We need an OC who schemes plays where not all the QBs targets are 20 yards down field on 3rd n short. Our receivers are getting separation. The passes have been off, or it’s been a low % pass schemed at the worst time. This team all year hasn’t taken what the defense has gave them and continuously just tried for the big play. Dorsey and Allen=Erratic

Somewhat agree. I think we were still good enough to beat Cincinnati if we had daboll calling the game but it’s also obvious Davis is not a consistent #2 on the outside. Love having him as a 3rd or 4th option though like he was last year.

If DE is the best value left at that pick I wouldn’t be too upset with DE.

Our team’s sack leader is a 33 year old recovering from an ACL injury.

But I’m guessing we go OT in round 1

Not after what beane said about brown in his review.

I hate to say it but yea we are kind of screwed on the DL now that Miller got a bunch of money and the Bills have missed on 2 high picks basham and Epanesa. This is the problem when you draft for need and don’t know how to evaluate offensive talent. This might actually be the year a DL who is actually good is available and it also happens to be a need. In past years it just seemed like they wanted to stack young DLs because we were all set on offense and may have missed a lot of great opportunities to pick the best player that may have been on offense.

  5. That coaching regime should have died on Sunday but hey let’s bring them all back because we aren’t in a 17 year drought anymore. The told you so’s and the emerging division in the fans next year are going to ruin most of the season. The real fans know the regular season doesn’t matter as much any more. It’s all about what you do in the playoffs and McDermott is great at collapsing under pressure in every single one of his losses.

They are trying to tell us our coaches and coordinators are fine and actually it was just the damar hamlin injury that derailed the season.

I want to reach through my headphone and punch steve tasker in the face right now lol

The apologists on wgr have been really bad the past few days. Every conversation starts with well we can’t fire McDermott or beane so where do we start next year lol.

I'm good with keeping McDermott, if he can acknowledge the deficiencies in Defensive scheme and Offensive scheme. I'd prefer to let Frazier and Dorsey go and get more innovative on both sides of the ball and he does need to do better with managing in-game situations. That said, he's done a lot for the team over the last six years and I can see that value. Plus, how he's handled the adversity of the snow game, Hamlin, etc. showed solid leadership. It's just the football side of things I have my concerns regarding those aforementioned decisions.

So you’re good with keeping him as long as he admits he sucks?

I guess we are still giving out participation trophies for feel good stories. There is no way in hell he should be in contention when he was out coached 3x times by and inferior Miami team, 2x by the jets. Had a complete collapse vs the Vikings and ***** his pants at home in the divisional round. What a joke. He’s not even close to a top 10 coach in the league and I will name them if you really want to be that close minded.

  8. The culture created by Beane and McDermott has produced an attractive destination for free agents

No the culture was created by the Pegulas ridding the stink of this org and cleaning house. They sunk lots of money into this franchise and western NY. I could give a ***** about a coach that is only known for clapping a lot.

The problem is we didn't plan to replace those guys.  The WR group just got worse and worse and now we are stuck needing to restock the cupboard.

If your team is signing RETIRED players to start in playoff games, your teams WRs suck.

I agree. McKenzie and Davis did not live up to expectations and crowder got hurt. Josh has had weapons in previous years and it doesn’t matter if they come from trades, free agency or draft picks. Now we are kind of forced into drafting at this point unfortunately .

  10.

They finally ran out of gas and now the mob wants to burn down One Bills Drive?

no they got out coached the entire game. Big difference. And no one wants to tell Josh Allen hey dude stop throwing the ball 30/40 yards down the field in bad conditions when we need some sustained drives.

And then when he cant get past the Divisional Round or AFC Championship do you fire him too?

The answer is it depends. McDermott has made a lot of bone headed decisions. The way you lose your playoff games matters. We know he isn’t the guy so what are we waiting for?

So whats your answer then?  Because only 35 coaches in the history of the league have been able to win a Super Bowl.    Coaches of all types havent made it further than McDermott.   Coaches who dont punt, coaches who do punt, coaches who go for it on 4th exclusively, coaches who dont, coaches who throw it every down, coaches who dont, offensive genius, defensive genius.      Only 35 out 518 coaches in the history of the NFL have won a Superbowl.  If I am playing the odds I am keeping the guy who gets you in the dance every year rather than firing him and taking a chance on the fact that I am so smart that I can predict the next Super Bowl winning coach with a 6% chance.

Fire McDermott and bring in an offensive minded coach. Hell I sign about 6 different people at this point 1 being Callahan from Cinci. If you can’t beat them steal them.

McDermott reminds me of Doug Collins ex-coach of the Chicago Bulls. Nice guy and I'm sure his players like him. His team is always good  in the regular season but early exits in the NBA playoffs. He can't seem to beat the Pistons or Celtics in the playoffs even when he had the GOAT of all time Michael Jordan. After Doug Collins left the Bulls team, his assistant coach Phil Jackson took over. And guess what, Jordan won all those titles.

He is Tom thibodeau. Defensive coach that brought credibility to the franchise after being a laughing stock for a long time. He had Derek rose like Josh Allen who was the entire offense and had to shoulder all the offensive workload.

thibs had a good defensive system and it worked in the regular season but every playoff series he was exposed at being the inferior coach and he refused stubbornly to make adjustments. Derek rose as a result ended up getting hurt because he was asked to do too much. Sound familiar? Josh Allen injured his arm in the pocket this year because the offensive gameplan doesn’t involve getting the ball out of his hands.

bulls fans were the same and thought how can we fire the guy that restored order and brought us to the eastern conference finals. eventually it was obvious he was part of the problem and was let go. Guess what thibs never did anything of real importance after that. Same will be for McDermott. He’s not a top coach.

McDermott has done well in Buffalo, but if you think this staff should have a permanent job because the team sucked for so long, well you are wrong, that simple.

McDermott should at least be firing some coordinators and position coaches. Absolutely no way tou are that unprepared for that big of a game and just go "things happen" and move on.

If you are cool with losing because it happened so often previously, that's good for you. I'm not.

Coaches have been fired for way less. People in western NY are psychologically broken by the drought that are convinced you have to be married to a coach because he got you to the playoffs. Not only that but every year the coaching staff has been a big reason for the loss in the playoffs. He’s the same guy he’s always been. He hasn’t gotten better as evident as this last playoff game. He’s not a top 10 coach, and if you want to win the Super Bowl you need to be open to finding that person. And I guarantee if you can identify that person and there are plenty of options they aren’t turning this job down.  Buffalo use to be a place no one wanted to go now you would have to fight people off for not wanting to come here. I thank McDermott for his time here but enough is enough.

  15. Didn’t even bothering reading your boring out of touch lecture about how we are all wrong that McDermott isn’t the guy. How you like that? He’s been bad since he punted in the snow game  6 years ago on 4th and short in a game they had to win. Please god grow a pair and get rid of this coach.

This is McDs first real test as a Head Coach. If he doesn’t show Frazier the door, then he too needs to go.

This is McD’s first real test? I don’t even know how this can be a serious post. I guess you missed the other 5 years of the coaching staff having ridiculous game plans and poor in game mgmt. but yea this is the first mistake and real test. I guess with that mind set better give him another 5 year deal.

So we're taking a 1 game sample size and applying it to the past 5 years?

Our run game sucked ass on Sunday, but in general, it's more than strong enough to win a SB.

You do not need a great running game to make/win the SB.

What in the world are you taking about? We didn’t even attempt to run the ball and the few times we did we had sustained drives that moved down the field. It’s like people don’t Understand that in the playoffs you have to scheme for the team you are plying and yes factor in weather. The bengals committed to running and getting out the ball quick and it worked to perfection. We can perfectly capable of running we just didn’t even try.
