  1. you should be able to undo a trade down, because that's some lame ass *****, especially letting KC go ahead. Might as well hold the door for them and bow

Nope, I’m not smarter than our GM. I hold Beane in high regards. He’s probably our best GM all time outside of Bill Polian.

pathetic, he went to business school have some confidence

Not with the falloff in production the second half of the season they wouldn’t. Diggs had issues with everyone in the organization and it was starting to get to the point where it was time to turn the page. Listen to Greg Cosell on One Bills Live after the trade was made he said he hasn’t played like a number 1 receiver for quite awhile and went into detail how Diggs peaked as a player two years ago.

McDermott took over the defense for 13 seconds

lol at getting a first for moving 4 spots back at the end of the first. NFL draft how do they work? The but but Beane says we have a great wr group are hilarious. What’s he going to do? Throw them all under the bus like Diggs would? I’m sure he will continue to target people either through free agency, trades, draft next year after we take our Diggs medicine this year.

Fair, and I was exaggerating about the first but it does seem we re always taking less in these trade downs and paying more in the trade ups. I think there was a report on that just before the draft.

Hoping KC doesn’t get the 1 player is ridiculous when there are so many players still available and it’s only a few picks later. Praying San Fran picks worthy isn’t a draft strategy that helps your team.

Dude what aren't you understanding, they don't know who KC wants but they want someone. Unless they're offering a 1st or maybe 2nd I wouldn't have done it. Especially to just take a backup DT in the 3rd

As a side effect it exposes you didn't want who you nd up picking later that bad

So by your logic KC only liked worthy and only worthy. San Fran also by your logic only liked worthy and would have taken him and yet San Fran didn’t try to move up to secure him. Also KC could have traded with any of the other teams ahead of San Fran. Look these teams aren’t stupid. They probably had a good idea who they liked. It didn’t matter, KC was always going to get him one way or another. We got one of our guys. Move on.

No, you put a lot of words in my mouth there.

First of all, whenever Beane trades up he says "he was the last 1st round grade left on our board" but now KC couldn't be i the same position?

second, never said SF abslutely would have taken him, but we had the earlier pick so we get our choice and hopefully by the time it ets to KC their player will be gone. Why guarantee they get him? The 4th round trade up wasn't worth that alone to me.

third, and this is a new point, trading from 32 to 33 was annoying as hell amking all the fans wait and also cost the 5th year option. was it really that much gained?

  6. 2 minutes ago, Rocbillsfan1 said:

Fair point but this can all be answered by saying that they got one of their “guys”. Other teams are going to get players as well. We can’t pick them all.

Ok, but one more point. KC's guy could've been picked by SF. We guaranteed they got the guy they want. You can say we can't worry about other teams but we absolutely can.

  7. 6 minutes ago, Rocbillsfan1 said:

Thats possible but what’s your point? They ended up with a guy they liked and helped fill another position on the team. I have a feeling though that Worthy was not rated that highly on their board. I think the worthy pick by KC was pretty obvious and the Bills didn’t care.

My point is the Bills may have had a group of 6 players all rated exactly the same (they'd have to for a trade down to 33 to be worth it, especially for such little compensation)

So they let KC choose their guy, then Carolina as well. So they didn't mind losing out on Worthy or Legette, but they also didn't care about Coleman becasue he could've been picked as well.

It's weird I have to say that , but I'm seeing a lot of fans saying "Coleman was their guy" but Beane's actions dont match that narrative.

I’m actually not ignoring the fact. They 100% knew KC might pick a WR. They didn’t care. It was 100% in the Bills hands and they were ok with moving back.

Oh thought you were talking about Coleman specifically. They were ok with losing out on Coleman clearly. They traded down for him like EJ Manuel, another FSU guy

  9. 1 minute ago, Rocbillsfan1 said:

You are totally ignoring the fact that the Bills had the choice. They passed and they passed for a reason. Many other evaluators did not like worthy at all and I was also in that camp. I’m a little worried about Legette but Coleman was their guy and they went out and got him and also were able to get the DT they wanted. Maybe in a couple years we can judge but anyone judging now is talking out of their ass

No, you're completely ignoring the fact that the Bills punted the choice. They didn't know who KC would take (but had to know it would probably be a WR)

Look the Bills knew what they were getting when they traded tor  Diggs. Leopards don’t change their spots. Did they adequately prepare for his departure heck no they don’t value WR like other teams do.
I can’t fault Brandon for trading him but it’s clear after his huge drop against the Chiefs the front office was thinking he’d have a quiet off season that of course wasn’t the case and it’s clear that had he stayed in Buffalo another year things would have combusted.

What do you mean by combusted? Would he have sat out? Would they have a better chance to win the Superbowl?

The diggs position the bills were in is nothing like the Higgins situation. Night and day difference.

Well I don't know all the details but I suspect our head coach is a major player either directly by being the main reason they haven't won or indirectly by not being able to smooth it over.

    I’m a loser ? What

im assuming you mean the Bills

Yeah, sorry, I meant anyone who subscribes to the collective idea that any player who is unhappy because they're not winning is a "cancer". Not saying you said that but I've heard it a lot from Bills and Sabres fans over the years.

Yea Josh was on board because Diggs is selfish #######

Even if they drafted a 4th round rookie how does that make up for losing diggs? It doesn’t. We will figure it out by committee and running the ball this year.

Why does it have to be a 4th round rookie? They let KC and a few other SB competitor teams have a choice first only to move up to the 3rd. Then decided to stay put and get a backup DT

Diggs wanted to win and he saw everyone else was just happy with hanging afc east banners. Most of you are going to love this team no matter what and that's your prerogative but he has no ties here and only has a few years left in his career and he wanted to win at least once and he didn't think he could do it here so best of luck to him. I hope he finds what he's looking for

Exactly, if you can't smooth things over with Diggs that's on you. Ignore him and benefit from his on field play and try to win a superbowl again. The reason Cincinatti gave for not trading Higgins was "We're trying to win a superbowl"

  15. F if I'm being honest.

If you gave me a list of potential draft hauls before the draft I would have graded this an F.

I like Van Pran, but if you told me the Bills let the Chiefs go before them so they could move up into the 3rd to draft a DT...

Even the RB, which I think drafting one at all is foolish, was taken right before the guy I wanted.

This lineup is stronger than last year.

We are rid of WR drops and bad attitudes.

Our safeties will outperform our old heroes.

We will get better IOL play.

And Coleman will make more highlight reels and game-winning catches than anyone in the 1st round.

    You're delusional

I mean did our aging safeties not stand out to anyone in that game? Lol Klein also got absolutely victimized.  this defense doesn’t matter mantra is getting a little tired seeing as the chiefs won with defense all year

Well we have a defensive coach and he let them score almost every time. Blame injuries all you want but that's when your coach needs to come up with one stop when it matters
