    1) Lamar-

because hes not white, old school stereotyping front offices will assume he can’t throw, read defenses or the playbook.  He’ll fall mid to late first round but end up in canton as the most prolific passer in nfl history. During his induction Bill Polian will swear, from his motorized wheelchair, that he would’ve been a better wr.

I'm not sure if the fact that you complimented the "Non-white" makes up for the politically incorrectness of drawing attentions to ones skin tone.

    1. Allen: elite arm, played in a more pro-style offense than all other QB's except Darnold, low comp % is scary though his supporting cast was terrible

At first I think i prejudicially waved off Allen, Had someone else in mind. whenever looking at this stuff i try to forget who i'm in love with and go back to watching everything as if it was the Bills pic. Being an optimous and a Bills fan,I may get pissed when they pick, (Out loud, tell everyone in the bar kinda pissed, Hrmmph WATKINS!!), but I will find a reason he was the best pick. If I didn't, i would be a Pittsburg fan. Don't tell me you guys haven't joked about that once or twice.

That said, what I do like about him ishis ability to adli, he made a couple Flutiesk tosses, Is damn nimble for a dude 6"3, solid frame.  Still not my number 1 pick, but at 12, I will pissed.

Wait, you made a post on this topic in another thread then started a new thread and didn’t even include that posts content?

is this one of those parody threads?!?

It must be like one extra scroll for you on mouse wheel to pass it by. Dont be a tool dude

I like seeing some of the guys you all are posting that arent in the consensus top 4, gives me some guys to look at.

  4. Interested in seeing why folk rank the QB's where they do. I made a post explaining how I arrived at the rank I did. Speaking of the QB's available in the 2018 draft. This isn't a setup to flame folk for thier metrics, although I can't control others. Would love to see points that have not been shown elsewhere.

He was in Saban’s pro-style offense.  He played well in big games, won two national championships.  Is used to taking snaps under center.  Has a 66.9% accuracy percentage which is better than every other QB prospect in this year’s draft besides Mayfield.  He has now had a couple of years to sit behind Andy Dalton, a solid NFL QB, and acclimate to the NFL, and has looked good in spot duty when Dalton was out.

I think going up to pick 2 is going to take all of our draft capital.  I’d rather give McCarron an honest chance to be our QB.  Surround him with talent from this year’s draft and let’s see what the kid can do.

    Accuracy percentages 2017

    Mayfield. 70.1%

    Rosen      62.6%

    Darnold   63.1%

    Allen        56.3%

    Jackson  59.1%

    McCarron career 66.9%

I couldn't agree more unless Mayfield is sitting there at 12, your list puts McCarron exactly where i put him, just behind Mayfield.  If we can get Mayfield at 12 and pass I will be bent, unless we grab Vita, providing he slips that far.

    Cheers to all

I appreciate the comparison and it is certainly fair, but Harrell was known as a one read QB, unable to see the rest of the field. I have seen Mayfield read 3 and 4 and even come back to first in short order. Hawaii had a QB with insane numbers about 8 years back, forget the name. He was drafted very late and never became a starter. The stats are only part of the eqation, and maybe Bake will flop too. But I personally bet the over

  7. Below is what I look at when watching QB's and trying to figure out if they are NFL ready.

Just talking to you guys like I do when my friends and I talk face to face. Not saying this is the bible, just wanted to see what you all think.

Ranking of Top 4 consensus 2018 QB's and where I think they would stack up against our current Bills QBs

Really a tough call between #2 & #3, chose McCarron based mainly on heart, Darnold might be a little better reading defenses, otherwise really close

    #1 Baker Mayfield
    #2 AJ McCarren
    #3 Sam Darnold
    #4 Nathan Peterman
    #5 Josh Allen
    #6 Josh Rosen

    1) Is he under pressure? without seeing a college qb under pressure, you cant guage how he will do in pros when he will assuredly be under pressure.
    2) If he is underpressure can he avoid the rush with simple footwork (Dan Marino and that Brady character come to mind)
    3) As soon as the ball is snapped figure out which direction he is throwing by saying to yourself quickly (right right right or left left left) if he proves you wrong with the actual throw then thats a plus column
    4) If no pressure then, did he throw it acuaretly to hit the guy in stride or was it wide open receiver, or did the receiver have to hesitate his stride to make the catch
    5) Heart, that is an Xfactor that I think is important (Seen Drew Brees pumping his team up pre-game and get jelous?) Thats the heart I covet but it doesn't mean everything
    6) Toughness, gotta be a tough bassid no matter what

Glad that we all are on the upswing with this team, Happy for all you die hard kids that have known nothing but failure, real heart!  Trust the process, HELL YEAH!!!

    Peace Brotha's

Can't think of many others that are projected this high in the draft with the skillset he has.

he is literally being hyped solely based on his physical attributes. Height, weight, big hands. All factors that are virtually irrelevant when it comes to QB's translating into the NFL.

Yet GM's are putting this guy infront of actual talents like Mayfield, Rosen, and Jackson, guys who have shown they have far more talent than Allen, but lack the physical size. It's a joke.

Josh Allen has the skill set of a 5th round QB, the fact that he is being compared to Wentz is hysterical. He is one of the most inaccurate QB's in the ENTIRE DRAFT.  I can't even imagine wasting all of our hard work to take a guy who is a glorified JP Loseman. Lets throw away real skills like reading defenses, accuracy, footwork, QB vision. Allen is not good at any of these things, but he has 10 inch hands so let's put the franchise on his back.

Every year there is always 1 team who gets suckered into these type of QB's, drafts them far too high, and wonders why they are looking for another QB in 2-3 years bc the guy they drafted has thrown more picks than TD's and still can't read an NFL defense. Please don't let the Bills become this team.

Won't argue that he is over rated, but I think Rosen will be the worst out the of consensus 4, Barely reads defenses, had little pressure on him (not that its his fault) but..., not nifty enough in the pocket.

Ok so Im just a random non-premium seating, hot dog eating, man-on-the-streeting basic rabble fan.

I just want to say a few things because I need to say something after that last few days. Those were stressy and exciting.

Being a Rabble is liberating because the things I say don't have to make sense, and I have no reputation to lose.

To all the press who made the mysterious tweets yesterday about the big, league shocking, stunning event that would be revealed, I won't forget that you did that. I think you got trolled too and didn't want to be left out, to seem like other knew and you didn't. So you made a mysterious tweet so you could say that you knew afterwards.

And I will remember the guys who kept their mouths shut because there was nothing to say.

I think it is cool that after that let down when nothing happened, that we were all delighted and stoked that we got AJ McCarron. We are pretty easy to please and so am I because I liked it too even though I know he is a 5th round drat pick who has been a backup and also nobody else took him. But I was happy go figure. (And a raspberry to you Mr Kelly the Dog! ;) )  What made it better is that late last night that my personal QB guru friend told me that we got the best available QB outside of Jimmy Garopolo.

Say what?? Now that sounds crazy I know but this fellow is right about QB more than anyone in the media. So that was cool. (And a rasberry to you Kelly the Dog let us have our fun the season will be here soon enough to shatter our dreams you monster).

The last time the Browns GM made a deal with the Bills, he got fired. I think that's why they are hiding McDermott. They kinda want him to forget that he made the Mahomes deal in KC with McDermott and then got kicked to the curb for his trouble. So all we are seeing is Beane.

The Browns GM will not take Barkely first. In short, because the top paid QB gets 3 1/2 times the money that the top running back does. So if he hits on the running back he saves ballpark 20 million dollars  by having him on a rookie contract for 4 years. If he hits on a qb he saves 100 million dollars over 4 years by having him on a rookie contract.

I think if McBeane didn't get lucky last year, and they really can scan the players and come up with undervalued guys who turn out great consistently, then they don't have to hurry and fill holes with a single draft.

I also think they are trying to invent a new angle. Which is that you come to Buffalo on a one or two year deal, and Buffalo makes you look good through good coaching and game planning, then you get to leave for your payday. That is going to be pretty appealing to players if they can keep doing that for them.

I am looking forward to the next few weeks of a slower paced free agency. I think they will make a move or two more. But the last few days was a bit too exciting even hough I enjoyed it. It messed with my sleep and everything.

Badlands, are you from Rochester area? I always see your posts when i get home from camp, always a good read

Hes gonna be a fan fav

Totally agree, I think he is going to be a stud for us. I love his motor and intensity. We need passionate guys that get everyone else pumped up.

I love the energy Tre' White brings, feel like he will be the same kinda guy.

Not sure if all the younger fans remember, but Jim Kelly would walk up to Bruce Smith on the sideline and say "Get me the ball back and we will put 6 on the board." that's what you need to be a Champion. That's why I also Love Baker Mayfeild and Don't want the Jets or Fins to have that.

Anyone but Rosen! The first pass in the video highlights of Rosen I saw is an intercepted pass in the NFL. Many of his passes in the highlight reel are picks in the NFL.

    Mayfield or Darnold.

Agree brotha', Rosen is the last on my list from the consensus top 4

    1)Mayfield

    2)Darnold

    3)Allen

    4)Rosen

Allen and Rosen made their living under no pressure and are sluggish, IMHO
