  1. For me the lack of excitement I feel about the pick is the lack of conviction the bills seem to feel about Coleman.

WR was always going to be the pick, and it’s a glaring need. Beane has shown when he loves a guy and it’s a position of need, he goes and gets the guy. What is obvious to me is the Bills likely had a tier of a few wr’s they were good with and Coleman happened to be the highest guy left at 33.

Knowing we likely need a wr to contribute next year to be competitive, it would have felt better if if the optics were that the either moved up or took a guy at 28 because they loved him and had complete conviction he was their guy.

  2. 1) we have no idea if the bills had Coleman higher than any of the WR’s drafted ahead of him. What we do know is that the bills didn’t have worthy, pearsall, legette, or Coleman as 1st round grades.

    2) no way to know if KC still gets worthy, they could have traded up with another team behind us, or he could have fallen to them. We will never know. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. What if we took worthy and Coleman is taken by KC at 32, and Coleman is HOFer and worthy is John Ross. Can’t play what if game, just follow your board.

Take this fwiw… I’m close to an FSU booster and diehard. Almost over the top. She also writes for sports editorials (lower level but still)… I know Keon may have weaknesses, but I asked her for an unbiased overview on him just in casual texting… The reply (again fwiw, agree or not):

“He transferred from michigan state and we only had him for one year but he was the most athletic guy on the field just a freak athlete guy. He’s one of the big reasons we had a such an incredible season! It’s an absolute steal if the bills get him with the 33rd pick he was projected to go earlier! But his hands are so good and I think he’s only 20 and has a big future ahead. Very comparable to the big time wr’s like Jamarr Chase I think he would be a great replacement for Diggs and Allen will have fun with him because he will be in the league for a long time. He’s the best receiver to come out of FSU in the past decade for sure! It’s a great pick for the Bills, I think he would fit in really well especially with such a stud qb!”

good read, but lost me at he is “comparable” to Jamaar  Chase. They are wildly different style players.

There are a lot of reasons why an athlete would delete their social media or limit it or unfollow this or that.

It's an inference that the message is "publicly show displeasure for their team"

    Diggs did more than 'unfollow'.

I guess you haven’t been paying attention - the unfollow was not the first time Ayuik used social media express displeasure  with the 49ers.

    He's not "pulling a Diggs".

how is he not? Using twitter/social media as weapon to publicly show displeasure for their team is exactly what he is doing and exactly what got diggs out of Minnesota and Buffalo.

  6. Been saying it for a couple years, guy is a problem and has been.

I live in OC and am good friends with a couple guys at a major sports agency, and belong to a church several Bills and other NFL players go to. I regularly talk to a couple players. This has been brewing a long time and the fingers are pointed at diggs.

  7. This is the biggest reason I don't understand why people want to keep Mcdermott. I like the guy, think he is a good leader, but he and/or the coordinators consistently get outcoached.

The margins between the Superbowl Caliber teams is so small, and IMO the teams that consistently win are the ones with leaders who can make the best adjustments in the 2nd half and/or in real time the lead to wins in close games. We have come up on the short end of that stick and it's the biggest reason we don't have a super bowl(s) in the last few years.

He's having a monster year, no reason for him to be upset

What are you talking about, I think 5-5 and likely to miss the playoffs is plenty of reason for an emotional guy like Diggs to be upset...

I don't mean this as a good or bad thing, I simply mean if in the offseason you told me the bills would be in this position, with the offense sputtering, I would have all be guaranteed that Diggs would be a sideshow diva on the sideline and I'm surprised huge blowups have not been a regular occurrence this year.

Because he goes off the rails at appropriate times. I know the media likes to portray him as a diva, but he went off the rails 1. AFC Conference Championship game 2. 13 seconds loss. 3. Bengals loss.

All appropriate times to go crazy trying to rally people during the game, and flying off the handle that we dropped the game afterwards. I wish we had more "divas" like Diggs.

Edit: And no, I didn't forget the stupid non-story from a random 3 day minicamp in which he misses the first day, attends the 2nd, and the team cancels the 3rd because it is such a damn important minicamp.

Believe me or note, no big deal to me, but I am friendly with several current and former bills/NFL players. All of them say some version of Diggs is nice but unstable.

  9. I am shocked at how little a story Diggs has been.

I figured if we struggled this year (especially in games where he didn't see 10+ targets), he would go off the rails big time and turn into a circus - however, he has been pretty quiet (unless i missed something..).
