The closer we get to the draft, the more I feel that Beane will want to recoup a 3rd round pick by moving down from 30 into the 2nd round, likely trading with a team that wants to get back into the 1st for a QB.

The Giants at 34 seem perfect if they want to snag a QB and get the 5th year option. The trade Joe Buscaglia laid out in his Athletic article seems ideal (30 and 169 for 34 and 99).

I think something like this is the most likely scenario. However, I do think their is likely 1-2 guys they love in the 15-30 range and if they are available around 24ish range, I bet Beane takes a swing at moving up.

I dunno what that is but AWESOME!!!!!

Them not having Zay is us like not having Shakir. IMO he is their most dynamic receiver. They do use their TEs better than we do though. They are both dangerous. Bateman is no slouch. Probably better than all our receivers. I wouldnt say that if we had Cooper from the beginning but we havent and we dont use him much. They also have like 7 300 pound blockers for a HoF running back that can break it to the house at any point and Lamar that can break it to the house at any point.

Losing Zay makes them easier to defend but they still have a ton to defend.

100% agreed, I just think them not having Zay gives the bills a clearer strategy on what to prioritize defending.

  3. I think it is a Big deal if Zay Flowers doesn't play from a scheme/matchup perspective. It feels like with the bills personnel we need to play a bunch of Man with an emphasis on stopping the run. This is hugely problematic with a game breaker like Zay on the field.

If Zay does not play, I think the biggest challenge will be stopping the Tight Ends while being stout against the running game.

  4. Yuck. One of my only hopes for this game is bass would be solid. We needed him confident going into playoffs. He is a problem.

heard and interview with bill belichick and he said the two things he thinks are most important in the playoffs are a top defense and a solid kicker, because that’s the difference in close games between good teams. That statement really dampered  my expectations.

  5. Cook does a lot of things well, but I would not be surprised if his star fades quickly. His drops/fumbles are a problem and I don't think he can be trusted, and McD seems like a guy who puts a ton of weight on that.

For fantasy football purposes, I am out on cooks and will target Ray Davis late.

  6. For me the lack of excitement I feel about the pick is the lack of conviction the bills seem to feel about Coleman.

WR was always going to be the pick, and it’s a glaring need. Beane has shown when he loves a guy and it’s a position of need, he goes and gets the guy. What is obvious to me is the Bills likely had a tier of a few wr’s they were good with and Coleman happened to be the highest guy left at 33.

Knowing we likely need a wr to contribute next year to be competitive, it would have felt better if if the optics were that the either moved up or took a guy at 28 because they loved him and had complete conviction he was their guy.

  7. 1) we have no idea if the bills had Coleman higher than any of the WR’s drafted ahead of him. What we do know is that the bills didn’t have worthy, pearsall, legette, or Coleman as 1st round grades.

    2) no way to know if KC still gets worthy, they could have traded up with another team behind us, or he could have fallen to them. We will never know. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. What if we took worthy and Coleman is taken by KC at 32, and Coleman is HOFer and worthy is John Ross. Can’t play what if game, just follow your board.

Take this fwiw… I’m close to an FSU booster and diehard. Almost over the top. She also writes for sports editorials (lower level but still)… I know Keon may have weaknesses, but I asked her for an unbiased overview on him just in casual texting… The reply (again fwiw, agree or not):

“He transferred from michigan state and we only had him for one year but he was the most athletic guy on the field just a freak athlete guy. He’s one of the big reasons we had a such an incredible season! It’s an absolute steal if the bills get him with the 33rd pick he was projected to go earlier! But his hands are so good and I think he’s only 20 and has a big future ahead. Very comparable to the big time wr’s like Jamarr Chase I think he would be a great replacement for Diggs and Allen will have fun with him because he will be in the league for a long time. He’s the best receiver to come out of FSU in the past decade for sure! It’s a great pick for the Bills, I think he would fit in really well especially with such a stud qb!”

good read, but lost me at he is “comparable” to Jamaar  Chase. They are wildly different style players.

There are a lot of reasons why an athlete would delete their social media or limit it or unfollow this or that.

It's an inference that the message is "publicly show displeasure for their team"

    Diggs did more than 'unfollow'.

I guess you haven’t been paying attention - the unfollow was not the first time Ayuik used social media express displeasure  with the 49ers.

    He's not "pulling a Diggs".

how is he not? Using twitter/social media as weapon to publicly show displeasure for their team is exactly what he is doing and exactly what got diggs out of Minnesota and Buffalo.
