Well they play outside. The comment was about Nickel Corner being a need. Taron Johnson was playing at a pro bowl level at nickel corner before he got shut down for surgery.
It also gets my blood boiling. Idiot fans who have no idea what they are talking about. They know like 5 players and if we don't take those 5 players they think the pick is a bad one.
What gets my blood boiling is losing and not having a WR worth a F over the last 10 years due to ineptness. Some of us have high standards, thankfully Beane seems to be fairly competent, but so far it doesn’t appear to be so for the WR department.

All I can say is congrats Arizona! You guys got Isabella and Akeem Butler, those two are going to be fun to watch under Kyler. I’m glad we at least picked up EO and Ford, should be interesting.

Do you mean “our“ in terms of the team’s front office or in terms of the posters on this board? Clearly, as some other posters of already said, unlike many of us, the brain trust feels like wide receiver, during the draft, was not that high of a priority. I just hope they are right.
Our as in our front office. It’s been years since they have drafted a WR worth the money. I think they have even admitted as much. I just hope Beasley and Brown are the answer, but I’m not excited about it. I honestly have more hope for Foster than those 2.

Yikes, that 40 !
We like slow people. But don’t worry, our strength and conditioning folk can fix that.

They must feel pretty confident in Beasley and Brown.
Well I’m glad someone does. Career production leaves a lot to be desired.

No point in drafting WRs anyways, I don’t trust our ability to evaluate them anyhow.

Give me a CB or a WR here please.

I’d like it. Did Harmon go yet? He’s another possibility
Wasn’t he a draft visit?

Like Detroit's pick Austin Bryant still lots of receivers available. I like Stanley Morgan jr how about Anthony Miller local kid
If he don’t get drafted he can always get a job at Morgan Stanley.

The only WRs worth anything that are left is Harmon and UB wr

It's a passing league and we have a bunch of trash at that position still. Get Allen weapons, he needs them.
Nah we all good with Beasley that couldn’t put up numbers with Dak.

And obviously this is all overreaction. Love Oliver and Ford. But I worry we are bad at evaluating receivers. I think we have a Tom Brady receiving core and that isn’t the type of qb Allen is. I would love to have a guy he could just throw the ball up to and as a big QB, I think he misses high. Size helps that.
We are absolutely terrible at evaluating WRs, it’s the worst position and has been for years. Our DBs have been fire though.

If Butler would have stayed for a senior year, he would of been a round 1 pick in 2020. Purdy is a decent QB, and Hakeem would have put up fantastic numbers.
-
Kyler has Isabella underneath with Butler going deep. Damn that’s exciting.

Welp! I have a feeling one day we would love to trade Singletary and Knox for Butler. Damn, I really wanted him.
and the Cards spent 2 of their first 4 picks on receivers but it clearly was Rosen’s fault.
Kyler Murray is going to absolutely love Butler. Sigh.

Congrats Arizona, you just got one of the best WRs in the draft for a 4th round pick! Enjoy.

Yeah, I went to check on it but OU’s defense sucked last year.
Which is even more troubling. Still though, a terrible big school program defense is still more physical than a most players from Fl Atlantic.

Any concerns I hand were quickly dispelled when I watch his games vs Oklahoma and UCF. Teams and defense vastly superior in talent he popped off the screen.
He was held near the LOS most of the game until a late garbage time score. I understand that the Oline is inferior compared to the OU d-line, but I didn’t come away as impressed as you are.

Fair. I just think with so many needs and how many rbs they are always available, a small rb in the 3rd isn’t the best use of a pick.
Wasn’t Ferguson available? If so I would have selected him instead.

Majority of players in college are not drafted no matter what conference.
Yeah but we are talking about Bethune friggen Cookman.

We’ll see.. his short burst looks good to me. That’s far more important in getting to the edge than breakaway speed, which the combine says he lacks even though “game speed” keeps being referenced as indicating otherwise.
Good point on Allen, as I’m sure teams would be hesitant to do that after Josh keeps the read option and busts a 30 yard run to the outside.
I went through and watch most of his in game carries and I could only find like a maximum of like 20 instances where he bounced all the way around to the outside, and that’s against small schools. Almost all of his carries were between the linemen. If I’m drafting a RB in the top 3 rounds, they better be able to bounce it outside and between the linemen as well as catch the ball. This guy is going to be relegated to 1st and 2nd down carries and maybe red zone touches due to his knack at finding the end zone.

Steal of the draft. Just like EO. 2 fantastic picks.

I don’t love the pick, but I also don’t get this criticism. What does that mean “once teams figure out how to contain him up the middle”?
Thats up to our OL and blocking scheme to make sure teams can’t do that.
If teams plug up the middle enough, he won’t get yards. See what bigger athletes did to Devin during the Oklahoma game. They contained him. He can’t get outside when the lanes aren’t there. Josh Allen could help out Devin though to prevent so much line stacking.

I do enjoy it, I’m really not that negative. It’s just upsetting these people get to make money doing this stuff when they are barely competent. I’m glad we have Josh Allen, but our WRs and our drafting abilities to find them is severely lacking.
