There is a video making the rounds on the internet allegedly of the victim at the party. Video was posted 3 days after the incident, matches the location of the party, timing, and clothing based on photos ABC, CBS, etc have shared. There is more public information that clears him at this point than anything else, plus her attorney has lied about several facts. I believe all rapists are evil and deserve maximum punishment. However, I am not sure Araiza is guilty of what he's being accused of.

Here's the link to it on YouTube:

Yeah it is alleged that the young woman in question is the one on this thumbnail as well as at the 1:51 and 2:58 video timestamps.  The biggest thing it shows is her going around saying she is 18 and that her "body count is over 20" etc. However,  at the end of the day....rape is rape.

100% of the currently public info originated with the accuser.  It may indeed be the whole story.  If not, and somehow Araiza is telling truth to the Bills and they cut him for PR, how does that go over in the room when 3 months from now when more facts come out?  Yes, the press will drop it, but as McD pointed out there are people involved.

The correct remedies are so simple to apply once the truth is known.  Personally I’d cut him even if he had nothing whatsoever to do with the incident but covered it up for his buddies.  If he lied at all to the Bills, bye.  Obviously anything beyond that he should rot in jail.  If he is exonerated but still cut, I think that is a bad look in the room.  People matter.  The truth matters.

I just find it absolutely gross people have different standards based on positional importance. It truly is a sign of a sick culture we live in aka certain "lives" matter while others dont.

First off, I don't know how the NFL commissioners exempt list works, but this seemed like the perfect situation for Beane and Goodell to get ahead of this whole fiasco. I love what Beane has done for this organization so far but either the NFL and/or Beane dropped the ball a little here. Putting my GM hat on, if I were Beane and both the NFL and my organization knew about this a few weeks ago, the moment I knew about it, I would've called Matt into my office to see if he did this. If the answer was no and I believed him, I call the commissioner and do everything possible to get him and my team protected by putting him on the exempt list. If the answer was yes, he would've been cut immediately. I am all for letting things play out, but I believe this to now be a distraction that didn't need to happen if done the right way. This stuff, true or not, always gets leaked to the public so no need to hide it. Protect your players and team the right way. Hopefully Matt wasn't a part of this, and the situation blows over. I like Beane and company standing behind players they believe are innocent and I trust that he must have some valid reason to have kept Matt when he had another punter on the roster. I don't think he would've chanced this outpour if he believed Matt was even a little guilty, I just wish it was done in a smarter way instead of this lets all just keep quiet and maybe it'll blow over nonsense.

It happened in college...the NFL has no jurisdiction over this as per the NFLPA contract

My axe to grind is that there are zero people who are disputing whether this girl was gang raped for 90 minutes and a player on the Bills is involved at any level. At the baseline of facts that everybody agrees on, Matt Araiza had sex with a girl that was so drunk he needed to go help her lay down.

My axe to grind is that there are 121 pages of old men who don't believe (respect) women.

There is no agenda. And your insinuation that such a stance of believing women and not wanting that trash in my town or on my football team is disgusting.

    ^^see my above statement...good luck.

I agree. I think at the very best Araiza is a dirt bag and I don't want him on the roster. Even if he wasn't in that room, and he brought her up their not knowing anybody else would sleep with her. He still had sex with a girl who was so drunk she couldn't actually consent and he knew it by bringing her someplace to sleep it off after the fact.

I had another post above this where I thought the police's attempts to protect SDSU are the biggest reason we are in this predicament and you summarized that perfectly.

I sorry you feel this way. Your posts in this thread read as if you have some axe to grind or some sort of agenda. It may be good for some of us to just put access to this subject away for a day and see how the thoughts to social media changes. Good luck and stay healthy.

She wrote in her journal the day after the incident that she told him she went to high school.

Didn't she write she went to Grossmont? Which there is both a high school and a college near by with that name. I'm guessing if she (or anyone going to that party) would say grossmont and imply the college. Most college students would just turn away high schoolers and high schoolers know that. Either way...lying, implying or misleading where one goes to school, their age etc is NO REASON to be raped.

It is this sort of trying via social media that is messed up. Soooo many questions here. Why would a lawyer post this? As a medical professional this is extremely traumatizing and the entire world knows? Even if the young lady said go ahead with this.....I do not know of ANY mental health professionals who would agree that this is a good idea. Also, now that this is out there (truth or not) this young woman will be scrutinized. Statements like "when was it written?" "Did she make it up to sway the case?" "How can it be used as evidence with no archival data attached?" Etc.

It is a despicable act to re-traumatize this young lady to win a case of public support.
